In addition to the semester fees, hostellers are required to pay a tentative mess advance of Rs. 25,500 per semester, which is adjustable against actual mess bills. The institute has clarified that this amount is provisional and subject to adjustment based on consumption.

NIT Silchar has stated that the above-mentioned fees are subject to revision as per institutional norms. While fee revisions are generally not implemented mid-semester, the institute reserves the right to revise fees from time to time. In case of any revision, students will be required to comply with the updated fee structure.

The institute has further clarified that all fees must be paid before the commencement of each semester. Fees once paid are non-refundable under any circumstances.
