Electronics segment is booming in india . There are plenty of job opportunities in they pay u well . VLSI , Chip designing has good demand in industry... Also Psu option is there also in gov sector . Rest all are good .

Companies start visiting our campus for internship in 5 sem of our college.. company that visited in my time is TVS , JSW, Goldmann sacs , atlassian, Deutsch bank ... Around 20% student get internships in industry. Those students who won't get internship opportunities they can do research internship under the proffesor

Placement starts from 7th sem . Many companies visited our campus for placement..Top IT Companies that visited our campus is Samsung, Nvidia, Oracle , SAP Lab , Cisco etc Psu also visited for placement... Which includes BPCL, OIL India Limited,EIL, MECON, BEL, HPCL.. etc .. Top core company also visited here ... Which includes vedanta , jsw , Tata Power, Honda etc . Highest package is 82 lpa which is given by atlassian. Average is 6 lpa I am working in infratech company

Campus Life

There are 2 fest in a year . One is technical fest and and is cultural fest . A very famous digital library is here Classroom are equipped with advanced digital board 2 big playground is also here we usually play cricket, football volleyball... College has many clubs some of them are coding club , eco club , ML cub , etc ...

Hostel Facilities

Hostel is compulsory for every students . For first to third year they provide double occupancy room and in last year we got single room . Meal quality is moderate. Also depends upon the hostel. Some has good and some has average food . . Hostel plus food charge is 22k per semester

Admission

I did not apply to this college directly. I got admission through JoSAA counselling based on my JEE Main rank. During the counselling process, I filled my choices carefully, and this college was among my preferred options. I chose this college mainly because of its good campus infrastructure, strong NIRF ranking, and consistent placement records. Compared to other colleges available at my rank, this institute offered a better balance of academics, facilities, and career opportunities. The faculty quality, alumni network, and overall academic environment were also important factors in my decision. I had applied for other colleges through the same JoSAA counselling process, but either the cut-off was higher for my preferred branches or the colleges did not match my expectations in terms of campus life and placements. Faculty

Faculties are really good. They are approachable too. Especially in reasearch oriented project. They provide you good opportunities if someone is really passionate about research oriented project. Every semester has two exams . Mid sem and end sem Mid sem : 30 marks End sem : 50 marks It's doable in one night ????

Night Life

The famous place of college is T point. Couple usually spend their time in this place . Also One famous place for couples is stairs of playground. They spend their evening time by watching sunset from this place . Just outside the campus a beautiful tea garden. We used to hangout with friends in weekend. Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to participate for Internship placements from 3rd year and FTE offer from 4th year starting. Overall the placements scenarios are pretty good considering it to be a NIT. The overall highest package goes to around 80 lac plus and the average package lies around 18 to 20 lac for CSE Department. The opportunities are great with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia coming for on campus opportunities providing agreat experience

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem students are allowed to participate in oncampus summar internship and from. 7th semester starting they are allowed for 6 month internship and Full time roles . There is a Training and placement Cell in our college there are some heads of this cell they are senior professors and it have final year students in senior coordinator position and 3 rd year study as probationary. Students bring the companies which fulfills the criteria of TNP cell and each company have their own eligibility criteria and selection procedure. Mostly companies allows 6 cgpa without any active backlog students . But some high paying companies requires 7 or more cgpa . In 3rd year Cisco , microsoft, public sapiens, Tech Mahindra, Accenture ,Oracle and many more companies visited in our campus and hired good amounts of students for summer internship and mostly offers full time role as ppo to students. In 4th year a lots of company like Novartis, amazon, flipkart,aditya birla, Cisco , Deloitte, oracle,ukg, Motorola, siemens , IBM and many more startups visited college and hired .Some paid 15+ CTC and some 6 to 10 CTC . Almost 40% of students are placed till December this year from each branch . Personally I'm planning for taking chances to get an online internship and then try to go for higher studies abroad in automation and robotics.

NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute.The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Not good at all placements. Worst placement college that is ever been. They couldn't get companies coming to this college after such long times. The only companies which comes gives packeges as low as 200000 per annum. which is worst in these present times.

Let's have a look what is going on inside NIT Silchar

In jee mains examination I got 92 percentile and my obc rank was 22000 and my general rank was around 60000 . So I was not able to get selected in other better NITs for my BTech course . As top colleges requires top 1 percent students of jee mains and in jee advanced my score was not good to get any IITs so as I my home state is Assam and for home State quota and female students NIT Silchar have quota so I easily got Electronics and Communication Engineering branch in this college. I applied for NIT Trichy ,NIT karnataka and NIT Durgapur also and also applied for IIIT s but didn't get any of them . In my college NIT Silchar ,the admission process completes by jossa and CSAB . After jee mains result students who got qualified are eligible to participate in Jossa counselling and then according to each years score jossa does the process of giving the selected branch and college among the choices students registered. NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

I get this college after qualifying jee mains exam through josaa counselling. I want NIT Durgapur but I miss out by only 1500 rank . Before NIT Silchar I get NIT patna civil engineering in first round of counselling but due to better placement stat and campus I choose this one . My admission process is very smooth where the help desk counter and senior help new comer. On my admission day I also get my scholarship id i.e, roll no. One think that is more frustrating on that day is that for hostel allocation, server was working and I get my hostel room no at 7 pm which is after 7 hours of my admission....Read More

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

I chose this college mainly due to its large campus and facilites and decent placements. This college has a great alumni network and has the best clubs and societies among top colleges and also organises one of the best fests. I could have got a better college but my rank didn't allow me to secure admission into the top ones. Our college only accepts JEE Mains score as the admission criteria. NIT SILCHAR? WORTHED!!

I chose this college as NIT Silchar is an allrounder package, you want academics? Done! Fest? Done!! Every wing is awesome. From the very first being in my home state, it was the best college I can opt for after IIT Guwahati. I did got offers from other colleges government and semi, but NITS gave me my favourite branch and secured future. This college has a great placement records in PSUs for core branches and great IT sector companies for other branches. Courae is ergonomically designed to withstand the students potential and push up to next limits.
