- It is indeed the most beautiful college campus of country.
- Many travel destination nearby college. (Shilong, Tawang, Dzuko, Sikkim etc)
Dislikes
- Food is not that good. Mess food is not great , also there are not much outlet in campus (they are still coming)
- Academic curriculum is tough in comparison with other IITs.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is tough specially in 1st year. From second year onwards , it starts getting more chill in Chemical Department. Less labs and no strict attendance policy (although it depends on professor )
Internships Opportunities
Companies visited during intrenships are Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Rubrik, Qualcomm, Adobe, American Express, Quadeye, Millenium and many more ( Average stipend is 1 lakh / month with highest being 7.5 lakh per month). Most of them are for Tech roles and Quant Roles. For Non tech roles companies are less but stats are getting better year on year.
Placement Experience
Placements are good . Around 60% students gets placed. More than 250+ companies visits. Many students are preferring DS and Non Tech roles after graduation ( for core branches ) and they are getting good opporutunities in them aswell.
Fees and Financial Aid
For reserved categories fees is :- 43,200 per semester For general categories fees is :- 1,43,200 per semester ( 1,00,000 tution fee which is not there for reserved categories) These inlcude everything tution fees, admission fee, hostel fee, mess fee
Campus Life
Annual Cultural Fest is Alcheringa happens at the end of Febraury. Annual Technical Fest is Techniche happens at the end of August. About sports we have a club for every sports and their facilities are also top notch and well maintained. Apart from these we have all kinds of cultural, technical and welfare clubs and have a dedicated a Student Activity Centre for all the clubs.
Hostel Facilities
For 1st and 2nd year we have a double sharing room which is very small for 2 people as ther were originally designed for one person,( Each person gets a bed , table and a chair). For double sharing room is very congusted. From 3rd year onwards , we boys get single room hostel. Mess is eatable but you get bored of eating same food after a while.
Admission
I choose this college because I wanted to be with India's Best Minds and in top 7 institutes for engineering in India. Also, it was the best i was getting and ofcourse because of the campus. I didn't apply to any other colleges like (BITS, NITS etc).
Faculty
Facultu to student ratio is 15:1 ( 15 batch of students have 1 faculty advisor). Chemical Department faculties are very chill, and are most generous in comparison to other department facultites. Generally, there are 2 quizzes,1 mid sem and 1 end sem examination per semester.
Night Life
Canteen run from 9 am to 3 am. ( Each hostel have a canteen) Library runs 24*7 (Each hostel has a library , also we have a central library) There is no restrcition to roam inside campus at all times. For going outside, we need to be in campus by 10:30pm Food outlets are there (Dominos, lapinoz, CCD some more) Gym is there in each hostel and we have central gyms also .
