NIT Kurukshetra - An Institute of National Importance

Likes

Supportive seniors and friendly environment for students.
Library facilities is available for students 24/7.
College is working very hard to strengthen it's alumni network.

Dislikes

Sometimes the quality of food is sacrificed in the mess.
The schedule at the NIT Kurukshetra is very stressful, there is very less gaps between two consecutive papers and students have to work very hard for themselves.
Also, some labs have very outdated computers.

Placement Experience:

The college offers internships to the students from 3rd year onwards and students become eligible for the placements from the 4th year of college. The companies that visited this time to our college were Microsoft, Google, Deloitte, nab, swiggy and many more. I am planning to target the on campus placement.

I like to submit review about my college and I enjoyed it.

Likes

Good Environment in college Greenery in college lush green campus
Liked sports culture in college and the citius tournament
Library is very good to study peaceful environment

Dislikes

Network issue in college neither sim data works in night
Lan connection is also poor almost disconnected every week
Lab work may be reduced (more writting work)

Internships Opportunities:

I haven't done the internship as I am enrolled in second year of my course and internships are offered by companies in third year of course . But I know the seniors who are offered internship but I don't know the role offered Generally stipend is around 20k .

major aspect which everyone like is that our college provide ample placement opportunities
classes also are well furnished with some teachers explaining each concept in detail
labs are equipped with latest computers for better learning

Dislikes

fees is too much for general category could be reduced.
sports facilities are less could be increased .
hostel mess should not be given on rent should be handled by government

Internships Opportunities:

major companies like microsoft, goldman sachs, winzo,visa,wells fargo and sap labs etc. nd many more major companies visit college for internship and students get interned in these well reputated companies

NIT Kurukshetra : What you should know

Likes

Campus is really beautiful, clean and green
There are no of clubs, for interest and personal growth
Seniors are very supportive and friendly

Dislikes

There is no night canteen in hostels and in campus
There is strict timing for girls hostels that is 8.30 PM
For non veggiterian, there is only veg mess

Internships Opportunities:

Internships are given in 6th semester which is now is in 8th semester as Intern + FTE compnies are also started visiting the campus from last year. And those who don't want to do intern they can take projects under there proff.

Sports facilities are very good for all who is interested
6 km from railway station easy traveling from home town to nit kkr

Dislikes

Academically very difficult as compared to class 12th in school
Poor network no or very less signals in mobile phones

I am in first semester now so i dont know much about The internship and companies who offers internships A week ago two students ( 1 from 2 nd year and 1 from 3 rd year got the internship in carrerwill through official technical society for civil engineering i.e infrastructure society. Technical society's have a big role in internships

A walk through Nit kurukshetra

The college is lush green there is zero pollution and the campus is very clean too, there are too many types of birds in our campus,due to clean nature there is no inconvenience for me as I am an lungs patient., the campus looks heavenly during rain.
The campus has various eateries,canteen and restaurants like walking,moxie,dominos,senate hall canteen,cafe and various juice corners and there are many wending machines across the campus so the campus is filled with trees and food and both things.
The campus has good seniors,they support juniors and there is zero ragging and there is mutual respect between seniors and juniors they support us and guide us through various things ,they arrange various workshops to teach us things.

Dislikes

The one thing I didn't liked is that there's a network issue in the campus the jio and other networks are pathetic you can't even call inside the campus with this sims although there is wifi and lan facility but however this is the thing which cause
The hostel facilities are quite old but manageable sometimes things don't work so we have to wait to make it repair and maintenance.
The college is situated almost on the brink of city that's why the outside campus life is very dull,there is no film theater nearby the campus.

Internships Opportunities:

Here various companies comes for internship like microsoft , de shaw , goldman Sachs etc they offered 2lpm on avg they need various web development projects and things like programming and dsa and some soft skills too.

College professors and staff are very cooperative and helpful
Teaching is very impressive and understandable
Hostels and playground are very neat and clean ,nature is very good

Dislikes

The quality of mess food is not that much good
Things in the market are very expensive and quality of things in the college market in exceptional

From 3rd year onwards students are eligible to sit in the interviews for placement in companies So many companies visit our clg I can't clarify their names more than 700 placements were made every year Highest package of 64.13 lakh in 2025 and an average package of 14.84 lakh in 2025 Approx 75 percent students get placed during the college years in different fields

Nit kurukshetra campus is very beautiful and big
There is squirrels birds in the campus which makes it more beautiful
There is vending machine below every hostel .

Dislikes

Weathe r , it is very hot in kurukshetra , so it is not good
They are not allowing freshers to go outside
Bathroom and toilet condition is average .

Placement Experience:

I guess from 4 year campus placements start Companies visits - google, microsoft , flipkart , amazon , and many more If i talk about percentage of placement it would be arounf 70% including all branches. My plan after degree is to get placed.

Likes

The enviourment of the college is enviourment friendly and includes many trees that provides fresh air.
Every branch have their seprate department including well maintained classrooms along with smart boards.
Every class have 60 students which is the perfect class size including 45 boys and 15 girls including state quota.

Dislikes

The building of the entire college is old and not maintained according to the present campuses.
Hostel rooms are too much small and do not contain attached bathrooms.
Teachers are not good in explaining the topics which are selected at the phd level.

Internships Opportunities:

Companies such as infosys , wipro and microsoft provides the internship opportunities. Some projects will be provided by the companies during the internship period. Internship time is of about one month.

one of the most striking aspects of NIT Kurukshetra was the sheer abundance and diversity of cultural and technical societies.
the campus life itself has a haven of tranquility and learning, largely thanks to its extensive greenery. Beyond the aesthetic appeal, the infrastructure is little old but well maintained including the laboratories and essential campus amenities.
The faculty at NIT Kurukshetra truly stood out for their expertise and dedication except few

Dislikes

While the rigorous curriculum was beneficial for academic growth, the academic schedule felt over whelming as we had classes from 9 am to 7 pm
Although Placement services are available, i felt there was significant room for improvement in their effectiveness. Though many companies like Honda, Hero, Maruti Suzuki, Sun pharma, Oracle, Hcl tech etc. visited the campus

Internships Opportunities:

While I don't have complete detail about all the internship opportunities available through NIT Kurukshetra, I do know that the college facilitates internship for students who meet a minimum CGPA criteria, especially through in-campus opportunities like project based internship under professors. These projects often include hands on work on designs, simulation, fabrication, etc. Many students also actively apply and secure results in teamships at IITS and other reputed institutes.

NIT Kurukshetra B.Tech ranking by NIRF is 58 out of 200 colleges in India in 2023 and it was 50 out of 300 colleges in India in 2022. The NIRF ranking was 44 out of 300 colleges in 2021. It has increased over the past few years.
