Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

I like the campus and the infrastructure of some of the building.
There are shops available throughout the campus for different utility which is of convince
The like the availability of cheap food in some of the shops and the friendly behaviour of the shop keepers

Dislikes

Some of the faculty teachers of my department
The drainage system is bad and the water gets flooded
The gym is very small and not equipped with proper equipment and air ventilation

Placement Experience:

from 6th semester the student become eligible for campus placement.Companies like google ,microsoft , apple etc visit the campus.the highest package offered around would be 50 lakhs and lowest would be 5 lakh.around 70 percent of the student get placed.i want to get placed and do the job then slowly i want to start my editing agency.

Likes

Classes structure which are pretty good and the washroom are also good
The environment of the college and the greenery if beutiful
High quality study of the college and very advanced study

Dislikes

I don't like the schedule of the classes very much
The professor of the college is not that good which I expected
The buildings of the college is very old they also not do the renovation

Placement Experience:

The placement of the college is not that much which I expected but not also very bad the highest package of the college is around 51 lack and the average package is like 11-12 lack and the median of the college is 10 lack pretty much good and placement percent is around 88 percent of students placed every year

Hostel environment is very good and in class room we have digital boards which is i lke
Neatness mad maintenance is also good around us
Taking care of environment is nice availability of daily things

Dislikes

Food quality in mess is very much bad and maintenance of mess
Cleaning is not good near the mess and washroom maintenance is also
No availability of washing machine is much

Placement Experience:

Only 4th semister students are eligible for placement and intern ship is eligible for 2nd year on wards Maximum 90 percent students are placed in cse 80 percent in ece 85 percent in electrical 87 in mechanical

Likes

There is some free time , and the campus is beautiful but not big
Nice fests , good alumini network ,and seniors
Nice work shops and exposure to different branches

Dislikes

The mess is not that good , and some times it is worst
Cost is very high, dosa cost 120 , cycle cost 10k
I don't like the curriculum of this college

Course Curriculum Overview:

They conduct exams twice a sem i.e 4 times a year 2 mids and 2 sems , and this curriculum doesnot prepare well for r al world application and the circullum and teaching methods are bad not good enough

class and auditorium maintenance is very good .I don't know about other labs but my ece lab is well maintained and lab associates are very good .any type of paper work easy heard by officer
roads are well maintained .overall infrastructure is good and ratio between girl to boys is 220 : 940
overall your placement cell are good and good mentorship quality

Dislikes

2nd year hostel mess is not so good and hostel infrastructure is not so good .
no night snacks available and also 2nd year hostel close after 11:30 pm ,none can go outside.
college focus less on professional development of students so lack of professional communication skill.

NIT Durgapur: Perspective of a Sophomore

Likes

All the teachers are truly passionate about what they teach .
The campus size is really good and have everything needed.
The placements and all the internship opportunities are best.

Dislikes

The girl and boys ratio is 1 isto 5 only .
Some of the teachers are strict and give too much assignments.
The strict 75 percent criteria is the worst thing possible.

Placement Experience:

Placements are really decent and sometimes overwhelming as all the students eligible gets the chances to sit for all the multi national companies like google and microsoft easily .And if someone wants to get into core and research they will also easily pursue what they want.

It is one of the oldest NIT of India have large alumni network and global tie up here people are interactive
In campus there is nothing attractive but cultural are good in our college they organise many activities and programs so social interaction is good among students

Likes

The quality of education provided by the faculties are quite appreciable. There are various clubs and societies for recreation through which one can be social and develop oneself all over.
The infrastructure is good, also college provides good placement and internship opportunities, just the students need to be enough hardworking and worthy.
Mess food quality is better than other colleges, every meal contains adequate amounts of required nutrients.

Dislikes

The size of campus is not too big to explore around.
Hostel quality must be improved a bit and buildings must also be renewed.
The college must provide more funds to the students in technical aspects.

Placement Experience:

Placements are great. Even the latest curriculum of this college will be very halpful to clear gate and to get PSUs And Curriculum is not too hectic so yiu will get free time. So you can develop new skills as well for the placements

NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

Likes

The different clubs which are there in the campus are great.
The overall infrastructure is at par with modern day colleges
The hostel Life has a lot to offer and thus one of the most loved part specially for me

Dislikes

Some faculties have very high level of knowledge but their inability to deliver it in classroom is a matter of concern
Sometimes there are some logistical issue which are faced.
Mess food is good but can be made even better and the non availability of 24×7 library is also a major setback for the students

Placement Experience:

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft.The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles,finance in some cases.The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
