Course Curriculum Overview
i got admission in mechanical engineering according to my rank in Josaa. i actually like my course and i can use the knowledge of machines to solve real world problems i suggest that here in my college engineering graphics is thought in old fashion way in an A2 paper instead of modern tools like auto CAD
Fees and Financial Aid
the yearly fee structure at NIT Durgapur for the b tech course is wll defined and varies slightly according to category and hostel status. the tution fee for general, obc, and ews category students is 62500/- per semester, which amounts to 125000/- per year. apart from tution, students also pay other compulsory charges such as registration fees, admission fees, development feed, lab fees, library fees, internet and examination fees, and training and placement charges, which together total around 8000/- to 10000/- per semester. a one time caution deposit of about 5000/- to 10000/- is also collected at the time of admission, which is refundable after course completion. hostel residents pay an additional 18000/- to 22000/- semester as hostel establishment and mess advance fees. for sc,st and pwd category students, the entire tution fee is waived, so the pay only the non-tution components and hostel/mess charges, making their annual expense approximately 40000/- to 70000/-. students from economically weaker backgrounds(family income below 1 lakh per year) are also eligible for full tution fee waiver, while those with income between 1 lakh and 5 lakh get partial waivers as per HMRD guidelines.
Campus Life
there are two main fests in our college one is Aarohan(tech fest) and other is recstacy(annual function) in our library there are so many books there are total of 4 stack rooms which contains books along with study room
Admission
NIT durgapur ranked 49th in NIRF rankings. durnig josaa admissions i also applied for top NITs but due to the course that i get if i chose those colleges, i finally took admission in this college at mechanical engineering.
Faculty
it is around 1 faculty to 20 students and those professors are very encouraging to learn modern skills. i like s c rana sir, our fluid mechanics professors although he explains very well, he also takes some extra classes to give more knowledge. i dont like one of our professor whose name i dont want to mention. he is a bit negative kind of professor who is so much strict in academics.
Night Life
gym opens everyday morning 6 to 8 and evening 6 to 8. cafeterials are also there. for first years there is restricted time to roam in campus like maximum 8:30 in the evening. nescafe is the most hangout are in our college
