Siliguri Institute of Technology (SIT) has the best placement cell compared to other colleges in Darjeeling. According to the previous records, various students are placed earlier, and currently, they are working in different eminent companies throughout India. Apart from national companies, various multinational companies also come to this institution to offer placements for the students in their companies. The placement cell had been focusing on teaching the practical skills required in today's IT industry. The cell brings in reputed companies like Kony India, Hitachi, Microsoft, Byjus to name a few for campus interviews. The highest placement package at the institute has been 39.12 LPA.
Siliguri Institute of Technology Scholarship
The college aids in the facilitation of scholarship for SC, ST candidates. The candidates are notified about the scholarships. Students need to arrange all documents and submit them to the office of the college. The government process for the scholarship is managed by the administrative office. Scholarships have also been provided to students of whom family income is less than INR 6 lakhs per annum.

- Library: The college has the central library established in the year 1999. It has more than 55,000 volumes managed with LIBSYS software. The library allows students to borrow 10 books on time. It also provides an e-Library connection with the National Digital library.
- Wifi: The whole campus of the SIT is connected to high-speed internet to make life easier for the students.
- Transport: Siliguri Institute of Technology (SIT) has its own transport facility for the students. There are personal buses of the college and the students can avail of this service to go to the institution and return home as well. These buses run along some specific routes through the city.
- Hostel: The College has their excellent hostel facility for its students. There are separate hostels for the boys and girls candidates. But the hostels are specially designed for the candidates for the first year in the college. The hostels have a total capacity of 100 girl students and 50 male students.

- The professors were well qualified and our HOD has always been a sweetheart. Our HOD always helped anyone and everyone who needed it.
- Our campus is very beautiful and very green.
Dislikes
- Canteen food is way too expensive and not hygienic.
- Club room is only open after 1:30 pm which is very unfair if any class gets cancelled.
Admission:
I chose this collage based on where this college is located and seeing the placement opportunities the college was giving, which were all a lie. Most placement stories that are posted on the website are off campased. The college has hardly any contribution in it. Very few companies come on campus and the placement quadinators are very bad at their job. No guidense is given and more over wrong information is passed down. Ranjan Chetri is the worst placement quadinator.

- Placement for B.Tech course is very good

- Placement for management department is not good
- Placement department coordinators doesn't feel responsible for organising the placement drives

The only reason I took admission in this college was that my elder cousin brother has just passed out from that college. Also my aunt's house was near to that, so our family decided to give admission to SIT.

- Campus could have been bigger with more facilities.

I choose this college because I liked the infrastructure and wanted to study btech CSE and our college fees was lesser than others. And placement percentage is also good. That's why I choose this college.

- The campus is very beautiful as well as the faculty are the top notch.

- Sometimes the loads of assignments can be a burden above the upcoming exams.
Admission:
Eligibility: You need to pursue science in 10th and 12th and have an average of 60% in both exams. You need to have a computer in your subject list. You may apply to any entrance exam to get first preference from the college. You can find the application form online or you can physically contact the college.

- There is no Wi-Fi network available for student in campus

The eligibility of the the course is senior secondary pass and crack CET exam which is quite easy entrance exam. There is no issue during admission as long as above Cretiria has been met and you have paid the fees.

Since our college is private there admission criteria is low you can easily get cse even if you got 45% in 12th boards Forms can be available in campus you can also get admission through jee mains wbjee and direct 12th boards result

- The interaction between me and the faculties members are easy compared to others.
- The college class are very interactive and fun for students.
Dislikes
- Classes are long and need air conditioning during hot weather.
- There are not much official holidays and like to change that

You need to get atleast 75% at your boards and you have to apply for JEE or WBJEE to apply at our college and get reasonable percentile while you are at it and 120 seat are reserved for CSE (COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING)and seats are reserved for students from Techno India group of school

As I know there are several types of application process in university like for west Bengal student they can apply through wbjee and for application to outside west Bengal we apply through Jee and Jee mains. For any type of government college the cut off range goes high. But I liked the type where we can choose our subject in which we are interested in any private affiliated colleges.

I was admitted through the counselling of wbjee 2023 and during counseling I chose the SIT CSE as my 1st choice and after allotment of the seat i booked it by paying 5000 rupees online in the wbjee portal and then I paid 96500 in the college as my 1st semester fees.
