Life in SIT SILIGURI

Likes

Infrastructure, Faculty, facilities, placement cell

Dislikes

Sports Activities are not much happening.
Campus could have been bigger with more facilities.

Placement Experience:

Placement percentage of our college is 85 to 90 percent. From 4 th year or 7 th sem students become eligible for campus placement. Companies like TCS, capegimini, Mahindra and other visit our college. My plan after college is off campus placement because I want to crack big MNC like facebook.

Likes

The campus is very beautiful as well as the faculty are the top notch.

Dislikes

Sometimes the loads of assignments can be a burden above the upcoming exams.

Placement Experience:

From 3rd semester students become eligible for campus placements. Companies visited:- Google, Microsoft, etc. The highest package offered to date is 51 lpa by Microsoft. Percentage of students getting placements:- A student needs to secure at least 60 percentile.

Likes

I liked the collage infrastructure very much it is beautiful and was amazing
The Hod and other professor are very good and motivate and guide the students

Dislikes

Well the computer and device in lab is quite old
There is no Wi-Fi network available for student in campus

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester student are eligible for placement. The company visited are TCS, Tech Mahindra, Earnest & young, Accenture, etc. The average package is 240000 to 300000 per annum. About 40 % student get placement. My plan is to pursue MBA

Me and my life of college student

Likes

The interaction between me and the faculties members are easy compared to others.
The college class are very interactive and fun for students.

Dislikes

Classes are long and need air conditioning during hot weather.
There are not much official holidays and like to change that

Placement Experience:

Placement offered by the college are good companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart are hiring students from our college a the average package is 4-5lakhs and there are students getting 51 lpa and 47 lpa and my plans are getting good pakage as well.

I like the faculties they are very friendly.
College provides regular competition of tech.

Dislikes

Doing regular classes, it exhausts me physically.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placement by the start of 5th semester, you will get many internship by applying. The companies visited this year is Tech Mahindra, TCS, Infosys. Highest on campus placement was 14LPA by Infosys Average on campus placement was 4-5LPA Highest off campus placement was 51LPA by Microsoft Percentage of students getting placed was about 70% Many opt for higher studies

Likes

Environment is very good for studies and also very healthy.
The faculties are very good and will be very helpful.

Dislikes

They need something like real world project , development for better placement.
Once you placed in a company you can't apply for anyother companies

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester you can apply for placement. Capgemini, pentonix, p360, TCS, Amazon, Microsoft, informatica, bijus etc. The heights avg package of our time is 27 lpa and the avg package is 5-6 lpa . 80% student was placed in 2023. To work with a organisation .

Our college has a very vast campus and very neat clean atmosphere
There Basketball , Cricket playground to play and be healthy

Dislikes

The Placement is good but there should be more oppurtunites to get to work with the other companies
College classes are very hectic to attend

Placement Experience:

* from 6th semester students can get any NOC and get a placement by a company * companies like infosis , whipro and many other comapnies * The highest package from last year 51LPA(Microsoft) , 26 LPA (Amazon) and the avarage package is 5-7 LPA * over 50% get placement * Get a job for backup and after having backup i will try to make something by my own

Active faculty members and there contribution to help us grow.

Dislikes

Sometimes the front office takes a lot of your time for anything.
Treating the new students as school students until the freshers of the 1st sem helds

Placement Experience:

After 6th sem, 3rd year the placement of students start. Many companies such as Wipro, P360, Amazon, Airtel etc visits our college. Last year highest package offered to our college student was 52 LPA. At an average 7-8 LPA jobs are offered also. 96% of students in your campus gets placed. I have also thought about a secure job opportunity from campus drive also.

Likes

Extremely co operative faculties members and their teaching process
Library and lab , medical facility any time u want to access these 2 u can

Dislikes

Location is 5 km away from main city so transportation is a thing to be worried
SIT also has gym with zero maintenance and equipment are so old admin should look into this matter

Placement Experience:

From 5 th semester students become eligible for campus placement and minimum 8 gpa is recurred to get the offer for be sitted in placement drive Every top company visited and students are placed their This year highest package is 51 lpa from btech September previous year 57 LPA from MCA dept and average is 4-5 lpa 70 percent My plan is pursuing MCA

Faculty is supportive you'll get enough of help from them.
Labs are fully equiped . You'll not face any problem in lab facility.

Dislikes

they force student to come college even if they want to do something else.
Not all Theory classes are good and the focus on their theaching not students leaning from them.

Placement Experience:

Student from 6th sem are eligible for placement . one company called p360 offered about 10-15 other companys are also there but i think they offered not more then 5-6.Highest Package is 36 LPA offered by Microsoft in offcampus. 30-40 percent usually gets placed but this year it may drop to 10-15 percent due to not hiring.My plan is to persue higher studies in AI .

I got admission in your college for b.tech but I don't give jee main paper

Admission to B.Tech course is done on the basis of WBJEE or JEE Main entrance examination. If you don't have JEE main score than you must have a valid score in WBJEE Entrance exam.
