According to the newest placement report of the academic session 2023–24 provided by NIT Raipur, the maximum offer made was INR 62 LPA and the average one was INR 10.8 LPA. The median UG package during placements of 2024 was seen as INR 8 LPA.
A total of 127 firms visited the campus and extended 778 offers in the placement drive. In comparison with the last year, the highest package went up by close to 13%, while the average package reduced by more than 21%.
In the context of student placements, 672 out of 923 BTech eligible students got placed. In the case of MTech, 23 out of 86 students got placements. At MCA placements, 28 out of 87 students got placed. But in the case of BArch, placements were not good with just 2 out of 49 students getting placed.
Among BTech disciplines, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering and Chemical Engineering had the highest placement percentages at 94.85% and 93.06%, respectively. Other large disciplines like Electrical Engineering (86.32%), Mechanical Engineering (87.88%), Computer Science (80.58%), Civil (63.16%), and ECE (62.89%) also performed well.

The students from the CS and IT department who are eligible to sit for the placement i.e. students without any backlogs, easily get placed. For the placement drive of 2019-20, 755 students were eligible out of which 90 were from the CS department and 90 were from the IT department.
NIT Raipur hasn’t released the placement figures for 2023 as of yet.
During 2022, from B.Tech IT, 91 students were eligible for placements and 85 were placed. From B.Tech CSE, 87 students were eligible and 78 were placed.
For B.Tech IT, the highest package was INR 57.5 LPA, and the average package was INR 17.87 LPA.
