NIT Raipur Placement 2025: Highest Package, Average Package, and Top Recruiters

The placement scenario at NIT Raipur is great for CSE/Circuit branches and average for all the other branches. NIT Raipur Placements 2022 wrapped up with 738 offers. The average package stood at INR 10.1 LPA while the maximum offers were received by the IT & Mechanical students. In all, 101 recruiters participated in the placements some of them being Wipro, Capgemini, Infosys, Adobe, Aditya Birla Group etc.

NIT Raipur hasn’t released the placement figures for 2023 as of yet.

During 2022, from B.Tech IT, 91 students were eligible for placements and 85 were placed. From B.Tech CSE, 87 students were eligible and 78 were placed.

For B.Tech IT, the highest package was INR 57.5 LPA, and the average package was INR 17.87 LPA. 

For B.Tech CSE, the highest package was INR 55 LPA, and the average package was INR 15.86 LPA. Amazon, Infosys, and Adobe were some of the top brands that visited the campus during the placement season.

The placements are good for CSE, IT, and circuit branches, and average for the other branches.

The placement graph for MCA differs with each year. There’s a huge difference between the potential of MCA students and the job opportunities provided by NIT Raipur.

Only a handful of companies visiting NIT Raipur allow MCA students to sit for placements. The number is quite low in comparison with the MCA at other NITs. The eligibility criteria put up by companies for placements is 60% (and above) throughout your academic career (10th, 12th, grad and post grad). 

After these multiple filtrations, a handful of students are selected on campus. In 2022 however, the figures were quite promising. Out of 70 eligible students, 65 were placed. AQ, GTS, Infosys, Polaris, Persistent, Oracle Finance and Amdocs are some companies that allow MCA students from this college to sit for placements. 

Thus, the placements for MCA students at NIT Raipur are average at best.

Given your rank of 2900, it would be very difficult to get CSE in these colleges. So you need a lot of luck during the Spot Counseling. If anyone withdraws their admission at the last moment from the CSE branch of these colleges then you might get admission.

Although the chances of getting CSE are low, you might get EEE with this rank. You can upgrade your branch to CSE by working hard.

As a student of Mechanical at NIT Raipur, I am sharing important placement details for this branch with you- 

The average package offered to Mechanical branch last year was INR 7.56 LPA. The package offered varies according to the company which accepts you.

• Core Jobs-

1. In the core sector, Automobile companies like Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Tata Motors, and FIAT offer decent packages between 5.5–6 LPA.
2. Companies like Vedanta Resources Plc offer higher packages than these automobile brands. But a large part of that amount is variable pay which depends on the performance of the individual and the company. In the end, the in-hand salary turns out to be equal or even less than the automobile brands. 
3. PSUs like Coal India Ltd, BPCL and HPCL offer really good packages of 10-12 LPA. But you can’t rely on them. BPCL and HPCL strictly allow a handful of branch toppers to appear for placements. On the other hand, Coal India Ltd. doesn’t have vacancies for mechanical engineers each year. 

• Non Core Jobs- Some software firms as well as analytics companies are open to all engineering branches. But they offer very low packages, around 3.5 to 5 LPA.

Mechanical Engineers earn comparatively less than CS/IT students. However, this branch offers more job security. Based on this data, you can figure out the current state of placements for Mechanical at NIT Raipur.

The highest package for MCA in NIT Raipur over years has been given below –

• In 2016, the highest package offered was 5.5 lakhs per annum by AQ. 90 % of the students that got placed were awarded a package that was below 4 lakhs per annum.
• In 2017 and 2018, the average package was around 4 lakhs and 4.5 lakhs per annum respectively.
• In 2019, the highest package offered was 8 lakhs per annum by Deloitte. The average package that was awarded was around 4.5 lakhs per annum.
• In 2020, the highest package offered was 14 lakhs per annum by Virtusa and TCS. The average package that was awarded was around 6 lakhs per annum.

Placements that are offered in the MCA department by NIT Raipur are not up to the mark but still, the ratio can be considered as satisfactory. Generally, the average package of 3.5 lakhs per annum is offered by companies like Cognizant, Persistent, and Infosys. The placement percentage of NIT Raipur ranges somewhere around 50-60%.
