Note: The CD Score is the sum of academic and placement scores. The academic scores are calculated based on state exam cutoffs or all-India entrance exam cutoffs, along with student reviews, NAAC rankings, and agency ratings. The Placement Scores are calculated based on the average package, median package, and the number of students placed from each college.
Ques. Which MBA colleges in Gujarat can be targeted with a low percentile?
Ans. Gujarat is unusually forgiving here, because its largest admission route does not use a national percentile at all.
- Scenario 1 - a CAT percentile in the 70s. NBS Ahmedabad closes at 75 CAT, and MICA Ahmedabad, Tribhuvan Sahkari University Anand and Nirma University Ahmedabad all close at 80 CAT. Those four cover the whole of the state's private and national-exam tier below IIM Ahmedabad, whose published General minimum is 95 CAT overall with an 85 sectional floor.
- Scenario 2 - no competitive CAT score at all. The Admission Committee for Professional Courses admits on a CMAT score and allots seats on its own merit rank, and 58 Gujarat colleges fill through it while 77 accept CMAT. The 2026 Round 1 General closing ranks sit in a tight band: 2,767 at PIMR Vadodara, 2,740 at Ganpat University Mehsana, 2,704 at Marwadi University Rajkot, 2,695 at GTU Ahmedabad, 2,664 at SPU Vallabh Vidyanagar and 2,663 at Navrachana University Vadodara. A candidate inside the first 2,700 ACPC ranks has all six open.
- One caveat applies to the whole table. A cutoff only decides who is shortlisted. At the national-exam tier the final merit list also weighs the written round and the interview, and at the ACPC tier there is no group discussion or interview stage at all - the merit rank and the web-options exercise decide the seat outright.
Ques. What were the previous-year GD topics at Gujarat MBA colleges?
Ans. No Gujarat MBA college publishes its past group-discussion topics, and the honest answer is the format rather than a topic list. Three facts shape the selection stage here.
- IIM Ahmedabad runs no group discussion at all. Its process is an Analytical Writing Test plus a personal interview, and the Final Composite Score is built as 0.50 times the PI, 0.10 times the AWT and 0.40 times the Composite score. A candidate preparing for IIMA should be preparing to write and to defend a position one-to-one, not to speak over a table of eight.
- MICA Ahmedabad uses a Group Exercise rather than a classic GD, after its own MICAT, which runs in three parts - Psychometric, Descriptive and Aptitude - and is followed by the Group Exercise and a personal interview.
- Nirma University states a GD and PI stage but publishes neither topics nor weightages, and NBS Ahmedabad runs its own written test ahead of its interview.
Candidates coming through ACPC need none of this. The 58 colleges that admit through the committee run no GD, no written round and no interview; the CMAT score produces a merit rank and the rank produces a seat.
Ques. How should a candidate prepare for the selection rounds in Gujarat?
Ans. Preparation splits by tier, and the two tiers ask for very different things.
- Write to the clock for IIM Ahmedabad. The Analytical Writing Test carries a tenth of the final score on its own, and because the interview carries half, the AWT is also what the panel has in front of it when the interview starts.
- Treat the MICAT as three separate exams. The psychometric section rewards consistency rather than cleverness, the descriptive section rewards structure, and only the aptitude section behaves like a conventional management test.
- Prepare a specific reason for the specialised schools. Tribhuvan Sahkari University Anand is built on rural and cooperative management and Ganpat University Mehsana on pharmaceutical management; an answer that would fit any MBA will not survive either interview.
- At the ACPC tier, spend the effort on the options form. There is no interview to recover a weak rank, so the whole outcome rests on the CMAT score and on filling preferences in a sensible order before the deadline.
- Check which test each college actually wants. Gujarat colleges accept CMAT at 77, CAT at 56, MAT at 36, XAT at 21 and GMAT at 12, and a college outside the ACPC pool may accept none of the ones a candidate has sat.
Ques. What is the MBA admission procedure in Gujarat?
Ans. Gujarat runs two parallel systems, and which one applies depends on the college rather than on the candidate.
- The ACPC route. The Admission Committee for Professional Courses is the state's centralised admission body. It admits on a CMAT score, builds its own merit rank and runs web-options counselling for 58 of Gujarat's 222 MBA colleges. There is no group discussion or interview in this process. The 2026 Round 1 General closing ranks across the colleges in the table above run from 2,663 to 2,767, a band narrow enough that a few hundred ranks separate most of them.
- The national and institutional route. IIM Ahmedabad admits on CAT alone, with a published General minimum of 95 overall and 85 sectional, followed by the AWT and interview. MICA Ahmedabad accepts CAT, XAT or GMAT and then runs its own MICAT. NBS Ahmedabad runs its own NBSAT alongside CAT, XAT, CMAT and MAT. Nirma University and Tribhuvan Sahkari University Anand both shortlist on CAT and then run their own GD and PI.
- The management-quota route. Navrachana University Vadodara, SPU Vallabh Vidyanagar and Saurashtra University Rajkot all carry a management-quota fee line on Collegedunia. It is worth being precise about what that does and does not waive: these seats still require a CMAT score through ACPC. Collegedunia's own listing article names Gokul Global University as admitting "without entrance exam", but Gokul Global's own course page on the same site records Gujarat ACPC as its entrance test, so the claim does not survive its own source. Confirm in writing with the college which test it will accept before paying anything.

| GEC Gandhinagar | 6.00 K | 3.39 LPA | 528 | 3,851 (ACPC 2026) |
Ques. Which are the top GUJCET and ACPC colleges in Gujarat?
Ans. GUJCET is the widest route into a Gujarat engineering seat - 153 of the state's 194 engineering colleges accept it, against 135 that accept JEE Main and exactly one that accepts JEE Advanced. The score feeds the ACPC merit rank, and the committee then allots seats at every government, grant-in-aid and self-financed college in the state.
- Among the colleges in the table above, DDU Nadiad has the toughest ACPC entry, closing Computer Engineering at a merit rank of 451 in 2026, followed by LDCE Ahmedabad at 607, PDEU Gandhinagar at 1,432 and VGEC Ahmedabad at 1,756. BVM Vallabh Vidyanagar follows at 3,674 and GEC Gandhinagar at 3,851, with GTU Ahmedabad's own engineering school at 7,736 on the 2024 figures.
- The four institutes outside the ACPC system are the national ones. IIT Gandhinagar admits on JEE Advanced and closed Computer Science at 2,315 in 2026, its branch range running out to 12,873 for Materials Science Engineering. SVNIT Surat admits on JEE Main through JoSAA and publishes a home-state and other-state split, closing Computer Science at 9,327 for Gujarat candidates and 9,517 for others. IIIT Vadodara closed Computer Science at 31,686 and IIIT Surat at 31,604, both on JEE Main. Gati Shakti University Vadodara and IITRAM Ahmedabad also fill through JoSAA, at 61,221 and 55,074.
Ques. Which engineering colleges in Gujarat are available at an ACPC merit rank inside 2,000?
Ans. This is the band where Gujarat's government colleges make their strongest case, because two of the four open at that rank charge almost nothing.

The point of the band is the fee column rather than the rank column. LDCE Ahmedabad charges 8.19 K and VGEC Ahmedabad 14.35 K for the full four-year degree, against 11.53 Lakh at PDEU Gandhinagar and 7.36 Lakh at DDU Nadiad - and LDCE's median of 5.00 LPA is the second highest of the four. What the private fee buys is a higher ceiling: PDEU's highest offer is 39.00 LPA against LDCE's 25.93 LPA.
Ques. Which engineering colleges in Gujarat are available at an ACPC merit rank of 2,000 to 8,000?
Ans. This band is the most useful one on the page, because it is where a government-fee seat in a core branch is still reachable.

The two rows worth reading twice are LDCE Ahmedabad and VGEC Ahmedabad. Their Computer Engineering seats close well inside 2,000, but Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, ECE and IT at the same two colleges all close between 2,000 and 8,000 - at a total fee of 8.19 K and 14.35 K. A candidate in this band who is willing to take a core branch pays a fraction of what the same rank would cost at a private college.
One figure to be careful with: Collegedunia's own listing article answers this question with a closing rank of 50,515 for GEC Gandhinagar, while its cutoff tab for the same college, the same category and the same year gives 3,851. The college cannot close Computer Engineering at both, and the per-round cutoff tab is the figure carried here.
Ques. Which engineering colleges in Gujarat offer direct admission?
Ans. Gujarat's private universities fill a management or institutional quota outside ACPC counselling, and they are explicit about it.
- Parul University Vadodara fills 60% to 67% of its intake through ACPC on a JEE Main or GUJCET score, and the balance directly on a JEE Main or GUJCET score or its own Parul University Test, with no domicile restriction.
- HGCE Ahmedabad splits its intake exactly in half: 50% through the state admission committee and 50% by the institute under management quota, with management-quota candidates contacting the college's own admission committee.
- PDEU Gandhinagar keeps a limited number of seats for its own direct admission process.
- Marwadi University Rajkot handles management-quota admission directly and also runs its own MUET for candidates holding neither a JEE Main nor a GUJCET score.
Two colleges say the opposite plainly, and both are in the table above. BVM Vallabh Vidyanagar has no management quota at all - every seat goes through ACPC on a GUJCET or JEE Main score, with home-state candidates on the GUJCET rank and other-state candidates on the JEE Main percentile. IIT Gandhinagar admits only through JEE Advanced and has no management quota or direct-admission route of any kind.
Ques. Which are the cheapest government and private engineering colleges in Gujarat?
Ans. The gap between the two is the widest of any stream on this page, because Gujarat's government engineering colleges charge a nominal fee.
Cheapest government option - GEC Gandhinagar
- Fees: 6.00 K for the full four-year BE
- Type: government college affiliated to GTU, AICTE and NBA approved, founded 2004
- Admission: GUJCET followed by ACPC counselling; 2026 General closing merit rank 3,851 for Computer Engineering
- Placement: median 3.39 LPA, highest 7.00 LPA
Cheapest private option - HGCE Ahmedabad
- Fees: 64.00 K for the full four-year BE
- Type: private college founded 2000, AICTE approved
- Admission: 50% of seats through ACPC counselling and 50% under the institute's management quota
Two other government colleges match GEC Gandhinagar exactly at 6.00 K - Dr S & S.S. Ghandhy Government Engineering College Surat and Government Engineering College Palanpur - and LDCE Ahmedabad sits just above at 8.19 K with a materially better median. Among the fifteen colleges in the main table the cheapest entries are GEC Gandhinagar at 6.00 K, LDCE Ahmedabad at 8.19 K and VGEC Ahmedabad at 14.35 K, all three of them government colleges.

Ques. What is the law admission process in Gujarat?
Ans. Gujarat is unusual among the large states in running no law entrance test of its own. There is no Gujarat equivalent of TS LAWCET or MH CET Law, and the Admission Committee for Professional Courses, which handles engineering and management, does not conduct one for law either. That single fact shapes the whole process.
- The GCAS route, which covers the public universities. Seats at Gujarat's state universities are applied for through the Gujarat Common Admission Services portal at gcas.gujgov.edu.in. GCAS is a centralised application system, not an exam: a candidate registers once, pays 300 rupees, and applies to multiple universities and departments. Each university then builds its own merit list from qualifying-exam marks and runs its own counselling across four rounds plus a vacant-seat round. Nine departments across five universities take the five-year integrated LLB through GCAS, and 104 departments across ten universities take the three-year LLB.
- The CLAT route, which covers the national and private tier. GNLU Gandhinagar and GNLU Silvassa are national law universities and admit on the CLAT UG rank. Nirma University Ahmedabad admits its five-year integrated law programme on CLAT; its own in-house entrance test exists only as an alternative for LLM candidates without a PG-CLAT score. NFSU Gandhinagar takes a CLAT score through its own portal, and Marwadi University Rajkot accepts CLAT or CUET.
- Where there is genuinely no test. GLS University Ahmedabad admits on Class 12 merit with no entrance exam, Parul University Vadodara on graduation marks through its own merit counselling, and Rai University Ahmedabad on graduation marks plus an interview. Sir L A Shah Law College Ahmedabad, in the cheapest table below, admits through Gujarat University's centralised process on graduation, Class 10 and Class 12 marks with no test. But four of the public universities are not test-free despite the GCAS application route: MSU Vadodara runs its own law entrance after GCAS, Gujarat University requires its own entrance examination, Saurashtra University requires an entrance and interview for its professional programmes, and BKNMU states merit or entrance test.
| Entrance Exam | Top Colleges |
|---|---|
| CLAT | GNLU Gandhinagar, Nirma University Ahmedabad, GNLU Silvassa |
| CLAT or CUET | Marwadi University Rajkot |
| CLAT and NFSU portal | NFSU Gandhinagar |
| GCAS (merit, no entrance test) | HNGU Patan, SPU Vallabh Vidyanagar, VNSGU Surat |
| GCAS plus a university entrance test | MSU Vadodara, Gujarat University Ahmedabad, Saurashtra University Rajkot |
| University merit, no entrance test | GLS University Ahmedabad, Parul University Vadodara, Rai University Ahmedabad |
Ques. Which are the cheapest government and private law colleges in Gujarat?
Ans. Law is by far the cheapest stream on this page, and Gujarat's state universities price a three-year LLB at less than a month's rent.
Cheapest government option - SGGU Godhra
- Fees: INR 5.40 K for the full three-year LLB
- Type: state university at Godhra, approved by NCTE, INC, BCI, UGC and MHRD
- Admission: merit on the last qualifying examination, applied for through GCAS
Cheapest private option - Sir L A Shah Law College Ahmedabad
- Fees: INR 16.20 K for the full three-year LLB
- Type: private college affiliated to Gujarat University
- Admission: Gujarat University's centralised process on graduation, Class 10 and Class 12 marks, with no entrance exam and an age limit of 30
Three other state universities sit below INR 10 K - Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University at INR 8.19 K and BKNMU at INR 9.00 K - and SPU Vallabh Vidyanagar, the cheapest entry in the main table above, charges INR 21.00 K. At the other end GNLU Gandhinagar charges INR 12.22 Lakh and Nirma University Ahmedabad INR 19.54 Lakh.
Ques. What is the ROI of the top law college in Gujarat?
Ans. GNLU Gandhinagar is the top law college in Gujarat on every available measure, and it is also the better of the only two colleges in the state for which a return can be calculated at all.
- GNLU Gandhinagar. Its NIRF 2026 Law filing reports a median of 18.00 LPA for the five-year integrated programme, from 194 graduating students of whom 175 were placed. Against a total fee of INR 12.22 Lakh that is an ROI of 147.30% - the degree pays for itself inside the first year. It is the state's highest-placed law school at 5 of 200 on Collegedunia, 17 of 43 on IIRF 2026, 5 of 40 on NIRF Law 2025, 2 of 15 on Outlook, 3 of 75 on India Today and 3 of 59 on The Week. Its published recruitment history names AZB & Partners, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Khaitan & Co, JSA, Trilegal and Linklaters alongside state undertakings such as GIDC, GSFC and Gujarat Gas.
- Nirma University Ahmedabad is the only other Gujarat law college with a traceable median, at 5.40 LPA from its NIRF 2026 Law filing, against a fee of INR 19.54 Lakh - an ROI of 27.64%. Its Institute of Law publishes a recruiter list naming AZB & Partners, Khaitan & Co, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, JSA, Trilegal, HSA and Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan.
- The remaining thirteen colleges in the table publish no NIRF Law filing and no law-specific placement report, so they carry a dash and are absent from the ROI calculation entirely. NIRF Law ranks only the top forty institutions nationally, and GNLU and Nirma are the only two Gujarat colleges that have ever appeared in it.
Top-Ranked Law Colleges in Gujarat by Agencies
Twelve of the fifteen law colleges above carry a rank from at least one agency, and the table lists those twelve. GNLU Gandhinagar is the only Gujarat law college ranked by all six: 5 of 200 on Collegedunia, 17 of 43 on IIRF 2026, 5 of 40 on NIRF Law 2025, 2 of 15 on Outlook, 3 of 75 on India Today and 3 of 59 on The Week. Nirma University Ahmedabad follows at 21 of 200.

Law Colleges in Gujarat: Placement
GNLU Gandhinagar records the higher median of the two colleges that publish one, at 18.00 LPA against Nirma University Ahmedabad's 5.40 LPA, and because its fee is also the lower of the two it returns far the better ROI, 147.30% against 27.64%. The table is sorted by return rather than by rank, and the thirteen colleges with no published median follow at the end. Here are the placement details of the law colleges in Gujarat.
| College Name | Average Package | Total Course Fee | ROI (%) |

Top MBBS Colleges in Gujarat 2026
B. J. Medical College Ahmedabad, Government Medical College Surat, AIIMS Rajkot, MPSGMC Jamnagar, and NMERI Silvassa are the top MBBS colleges in Gujarat. B. J. Medical College Ahmedabad leads on an Overall Score of 983 out of 1000 and an All India Rank of 14 of 517, then Government Medical College Surat at 957. Seven of the fifteen are GMERS government-society colleges and six are plain state government colleges. Here is the list with their ranks, scores, fees and NEET cutoffs.
The other two sit outside the Gujarat system: AIIMS Rajkot is a central institution counselled wholly through the MCC, and Namo Medical Education and Research Institute is run by the Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu administration at Silvassa, though Collegedunia files it under the Gujarat filter.

Ques. What is the eligibility criteria for NEET UG in Gujarat?
Ans. NEET UG eligibility is set nationally, and Gujarat adds a local-candidate requirement on top of it for the state quota.
- Age: at least 17 years old as on 31 December of the admission year. There is no upper age limit and no cap on attempts.
- Qualifying exam: a pass in Class 12 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English as compulsory subjects.
- Class 12 aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology: 50% for General and Unreserved candidates, 40% for OBC, SC and ST candidates, and 45% for General-PwD candidates.
- NEET qualifying percentile: the 50th percentile for Unreserved and EWS candidates and the 40th percentile for OBC, SC and ST candidates.
- Nationality: Indian citizens, NRIs, Overseas Citizens of India, Persons of Indian Origin and foreign nationals may all appear.
Gujarat local-candidate status. To compete for the 85% state quota a candidate must qualify as a Gujarat local under the ACPUGMEC rules, which test schooling in Gujarat, parental residence and a set of service-related categories. A candidate who does not qualify can still compete for the 15% All India Quota through the MCC. AIIMS Rajkot is outside the state quota entirely: as a central institution, 100% of its MBBS seats go through MCC counselling on the All India Rank.
Ques. Is direct MBBS admission without NEET possible in Gujarat?
Ans. No. There is no route to an MBBS seat in Gujarat without a valid qualifying NEET UG score, in a government college, a GMERS college, a private college or a management-quota seat.
- Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 makes NEET the single uniform entrance examination for admission to undergraduate medical education in every institution governed by the Act, private and deemed institutions included. NEET qualification is a precondition for inclusion in any merit list, state or management.
- The usual misunderstanding concerns the management and NRI quotas. Those are fee categories, not exam exemptions. ACPUGMEC runs 100% of Gujarat's medical seats - government quota, management quota and NRI quota alike - and every one of those merit lists is built from NEET ranks. An agent offering a Gujarat MBBS seat without NEET is offering something that does not exist.
Ques. What is the management-quota fee range for MBBS in Gujarat?
Ans. Gujarat's medical fees are fixed under the Gujarat Professional Medical Education Institutions Act and notified per year. There are four distinct tiers, and the gap between them is very wide.
- Plain government medical colleges charge 25,000 a year for the government quota, which is the 1.13 Lakh to 1.41 Lakh in the main table. These colleges have no management and no NRI quota at all under the ACPUGMEC schedule.
- GMERS colleges - government quota currently charge 3.75 Lakh a year, or 18.75 Lakh for the course. That rate was set by the Gujarat Cabinet on 16 July 2024, partially rolling back a June 2024 notification that had taken it to 5.50 Lakh; it had previously been 3.30 Lakh.
- GMERS colleges - management quota charge 12.00 Lakh a year, roughly 60.00 Lakh for the course, under the same July 2024 decision. The NRI quota is USD 20,000 a year.
- Private colleges charge 5.64 Lakh to 8.22 Lakh a year for the government quota, 13.50 Lakh to 17.60 Lakh a year for the management quota, and USD 20,000 to USD 35,000 a year for the NRI quota.
The point worth holding on to is that every GMERS figure in the table above is a government-quota figure, not a management-quota one. The GMERS management-quota equivalent is four to five times higher. A candidate comparing 18.75 Lakh at GMERS Ahmedabad against 1.13 Lakh at B. J. Medical College is comparing two government-quota fees at two different kinds of government college, not a government fee against a private one.
Ques. What is the MBBS admission procedure in Gujarat?
Ans. Two counsellings run in parallel, and a candidate who wants to be considered in both must register for both.
- The 15% All India Quota is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee at mcc.nic.in on the NEET All India Rank. It covers the seats Gujarat's government colleges surrender to the national pool, and it covers AIIMS Rajkot entirely.
- The 85% state quota is conducted by the Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses, constituted under Act No. 3 of 2008, through its portal at medadmgujarat.org. ACPUGMEC's remit is unusually wide: it runs not just the government quota but the management and NRI quotas too, for every medical and dental undergraduate college in the state.
- Counselling runs through four rounds for MBBS, a fifth round reserved for BDS, and then a special stray round. Candidates register, have certificates verified, fill college and course preferences online in priority order, and are allotted on state merit rank, category and the saved preference order.
- One point worth knowing when reading cutoffs anywhere: the late and stray rounds can close at ranks in the lakhs, and those are not General-category cutoffs. The figures in the tables on this page are Round 1 General closing ranks.
Ques. What is the placement scenario for MBBS graduates in Gujarat?
Ans. MBBS is not a campus-placement degree, which is why no placement or ROI table appears in this section and why the Overall Score rather than a package drives the ranking above.
- An MBBS graduate completes a compulsory rotating internship of one year, paid at 21,840 a month across Gujarat's six plain government and thirteen GMERS colleges, a rate set by a 25% hike effective 1 April 2024. AIIMS Rajkot pays the central-institution rate of 30,070 a month instead. The internship is served at the attached teaching hospital, and the table in the next section names each one.
- After the internship the usual paths are a postgraduate seat through NEET PG, a state government service post, a junior residency at a teaching hospital, or private practice. The larger government colleges have a structural advantage here: Medical College Baroda is attached to the 1,500-bed Sir Sayajirao General Hospital and M.P. Shah Jamnagar to the 1,275-bed G.G.G. Hospital, so the clinical exposure during the internship is considerably greater than at a newer district college.
