GNLU Gandhinagar is a gifted college!

Likes

Even though such a diverse crowd but GNLU is definitely the most inclusive NLUs of all.
One campus which opposes Ragging is definitely ours.
Our university provides us opportunities to apply for international moot competitions and many students go for that as well.

Dislikes

Little hectic schedule here as there are many clubs and students have to join them as seniors literally pushes juniors for the same.
Even though the area now is among the most developed areas of Gandhinagar, finding commuting at night is still tough.

It's the law firms more than the corporate houses as 2025 placements session was a record breaker for all. Average placements rose to 1200000 and highest placements was of 26 lakhs this year as some students got itno much decorated law firm Khaitan.

The infrastructural highlight of GNLU is its fully equipped classrooms and library. They are fully air-conditioned with all the necessary teaching facilities like, projector, computer, and wifi.
The faculties are very experienced, some even have 8years of teaching experience. The professors are very polite, helpful, and not only resolve academic related issues but also guide you as mentor.
The campus life is very vibrant as safety is maintained all the time, fests and sports competition are organized time to time, students are also allowed to open their own stall and sell during competitions.

Dislikes

As the university was established in 2003 the design of hostel is very outdated and there is no space for air conditioner.

Placement Experience:

After 4th year, students are eligible to sit for placements. Some students also receive a pre-placement offer in the 4th year itself. The students are first prepared for day zero, i.e., placement day, beforehand by conducting a mock interview, which is a voluntary session conducted by the placement committee. CV Vetting workshops are also conducted in the eighth semester because at the end of the 8th semester, the placements are made where tier-1 companies like Khaitan, AZB Partners, CAM, SAM, Trilegal, etc. In-house firms like Adani, ICICI Bank, Tata, and more come for recruiting students. Some students sit for placement; others who want to prepare for government exams like judiciary, UPSC, Public Prosecutor, etc. refrain from sitting in placements.

GNLU secures future

Likes

Superb placements as one can easily get placed at will from GNLU.
The college holds a significant name and therefore intenrships applications are never rejected even for Tier-1 firms.
College now a metro station named GNLU right next to the college gate and that has made commuting so smooth.

Dislikes

There aren't much fests and activities inside the college.

Placement Experience:

Placements happens only during the final year and the ones who are left for placements a special day called the day 0 is organised. Hence, the college makes all possible ways so that students get places here. Many too corporates including the Adani group comes here for placements. Out of 159 that applied for placements in 2024, 97 students got placed and some of them even were placed in international law firms.

GNLU needs no introduction!!

Likes

Student quality as we have the best set of students from the country and students from almost every state of India.
The campus is huge and is right next to PDPU university, making commuting very easy.

Dislikes

Attendance are too strict and if one has less than 75% attendance, they have to call their parents.

Placement Experience:

For law students internship after every semester is mandatory. Hence, if they perform well there they can get placements without campus placements. In campus from corporate houses to various big law firms came and offered jobs worth 10-15LPA per annum. The placement percentage dropped significantly in our year and I don't know why but only half the students had placements from the campus. However, some students got placements worth 20LPA or more from our campus.

Navigating GNLU: a college in the heart of greenery

Likes

The sense of community that the college provides in the form of mandatory residential course.
Professors are very friendly and approachable, they act as your guardians and guide you in the best direction for you.
The campus is beautiful with greenery everywhere, it's located near the premier GIFT City and has its own metro station

Dislikes

Law program is a very demanding course and the pressure one faces while studying is very extreme.
Batch strength is too large which makes it difficult to make solid interpersonal relationships with people

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements as soon as they enter 5th year when the day zero is conducted. On the said day, atleast 5-6 tier-1 law firms come to induct students into their offices. Average package ranges around 14-16 lakhs. Last year around 80% stufents got offers from various firms

Things to know if you are planning to pursue LL.M from GNLU, Gandhinagar

Likes

Campus Life is great. One gets lots of opportunity to grow as an individual there.
Faculty is amazing there. Faculty is well versed with research and subjects
I liked the mess food there. I don't think one can have better food than this in any university hostel.

Dislikes

there is nothing that i disliked about the faculty there.
Hostel rooms are not air conditioned. Thus, it may create a sort of discomfort in harsh summers of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar

Placement Experience:

From the fourth year of LL.B and the last semester of LL.M, students start to get pre-placement offers if they have interned in any corporate law firm or with any senior advocate. apart from this, there is one placement cell in university which is headed by a seniormost professor in university. The placement packages vary from 26 Lakhs at the highest to 4 Lakh at the lowest, depending on the organisation in which students get a job.

Placement is better than online and Cluj. 17-24 lakhs it goes and 90-95% are placed. As such I have no plans after graduation, after 8 semesters you can get PPOs, 11-12 companies visited campus this semester.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements right from their 4th year. We have our Day 0 in the month of august in our final year although most of the batchmates start getting their PPOs right from their 4th year. Top tier firms like SAM, CAM, AZB, NDA, Khaitan, Indus, and JSA, visit our campus for conducting the interviews on Da zero. Our seniors have been made 70 offers and 40 students got their jobs through campus placements. The highest Package lies around 22 lahks per annum and the average package is 6 lakh per annum. But very few students get placed through college placements and one has to be in the top 40 of the batch in order to get it through college.

GNLU: One of the Best Law Universities in India

Placement Experience:

Students after their 7th semester become eligible for placements. There are various companies and law firms such as Trilegal and Khaitan that hire students from the campus. Banks and chambers also hire students from the university. The average package is of 10 lacs per annum and atleast 70 percent of the students get placed through the campus recruitment. As if now I'm not sure if what to do after graduating but I'm trying to get a corporate job with a decent salary.

Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) Review

Placement Experience:

In India there are only some limited or I would say few law colleges that provides placement offers too and Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) is also among the university that offers good placement offer. The college manages to reach the highest placement offer of around 14 LPA and with an average salary offer of 7.50 LPA.

The Centre for Law & Economics (CLE) at GNLU is a Centre of excellence for research and training in the discipline of Law & Economics. The Centre values rigorous work in the discipline, and aims to promote awareness of and research in the field.

It carries out courses and conferences for scholars, practitioners and students, apart from publications on economic analysis of contemporary legal issues. It aims to produce quality prescriptions for legislators, regulators and government departments, and to provide clear explanations and guidance to businesses and ordinary citizens alike.

The Centre for Law and Economics at GNLU has always tried to reach out to bright and young minds who have a keen interest in employing economic tools and theories for legal analysis. Some of these efforts can be seen at the CLE’s web page for past events. GNLU offers a Ph.D. degree course in Economics to promote academic skill and research vigor in the fields of Economics and Law.

Here are the aims and objectives of CLE:

To show how law and economics can contribute to policy making, and thereby, improve the current socio-economic problems.
To demonstrate the importance of this field in improving the efficiency of laws.
To undertake research on contemporary problems, and to further analyze policies from an economic point of view.
To collaborate with universities and institutes from across the world, and to organize/deliver seminars and certificate courses.

The Mission of the GNLU Law and Economics Center is to spread awareness among the general public at large, about this field of study. Doing so can play a crucial role in making the Indian Legal System more efficient.

As a student, what is your review of GNLU Gandhinagar?

I am a student of law at GNLU Gandhinagar. My experience of studying at GNLU has been very good so far. Here are some reasons why GNLU is an ideal institute for law studies-

Infrastructure: The GNLU Gandhinagar campus is spread across 50 acres of land, and it has an excellent infrastructure with Wi-Fi facilities throughout the campus. The campus is also facilitated with a girls’ hostel. The hostel has air conditioning, a gym, a recreational room, a mess, and many more facilities.

Placements: GNLU Gandhinagar records good placements. The package offered to the GNLU graduates is between 16 LPA- 20 LPA. The top companies that visit our campus are Khaitan & Co., Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co., etc.

Faculty and Curriculum: All the faculty members of GNLU Gandhinagar are highly qualified, experienced, and supportive. The academic curriculum is as per the current standards.

Thus, GNLU is a very good institution for pursuing law, and you can consider it for your higher studies.
