Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) continues to stand strong as an NLU in the upper segment of the law school hierarchy in India, with a very successful placement and internship season for the flagship B.A./B.Com./B.B.A./B.Sc./B.S.W. LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M. ,and PhD programmes.

During the 2024 placement season, almost all undergraduate students were placed, demonstrating industry demand for GNLU graduates. The median package for undergraduate UG students was INR 18 LPA. LL.M. graduates had the median package of INR 6.20 LPA. These figures are indicative of the robust placement ecosystem, GNLU has developed with law firms, corporates, PSUs and litigation chambers.

Come 2025, the students continued to receive offers from leading Tier-1 law firms, corporates, banks, PSUs and litigation practices. Recruiters included AZB & Partners, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Khaitan & Co., Trilegal, IndusLaw, Deloitte, EY, ICICI Bank, HDFC Ltd, SEBI, RBI, CCI and Indian Oil Corporation, as well as senior advocates and institutions doing policy research. Multiple students also obtained judicial clerkships and international internships, with recognized organizations.

From an internship perspective, there were still lots of opportunities, including placements with the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, corporate houses, law firms, think tanks and regulatory authorities. Many of these internships converted to Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs), which further strengthened students’ transitional journey to a career.

Placement Experience:

After 4th year, students are eligible to sit for placements. Some students also receive a pre-placement offer in the 4th year itself. The students are first prepared for day zero, i.e., placement day, beforehand by conducting a mock interview, which is a voluntary session conducted by the placement committee. CV Vetting workshops are also conducted in the eighth semester because at the end of the 8th semester, the placements are made where tier-1 companies like Khaitan, AZB Partners, CAM, SAM, Trilegal, etc. In-house firms like Adani, ICICI Bank, Tata, and more come for recruiting students. Some students sit for placement; others who want to prepare for government exams like judiciary, UPSC, Public Prosecutor, etc. refrain from sitting in placements.

The college holds a significant name and therefore intenrships applications are never rejected even for Tier-1 firms.
Superb placements as one can easily get placed at will from GNLU.

Placement Experience:

Placements happens only during the final year and the ones who are left for placements a special day called the day 0 is organised. Hence, the college makes all possible ways so that students get places here. Many too corporates including the Adani group comes here for placements. Out of 159 that applied for placements in 2024, 97 students got placed and some of them even were placed in international law firms.

From your 4th year. All major law firms visit to take placements. Packages go really high depends on if you have the skills to earn a high paying job. There are various options other than getting placed as well such as higher education or litigation.
