According to Gaurav Soni’s review on Collegedunia, IIIT Vadodara is good in academics, and the faculty members are quite helpful. The curriculum is broad. Numerous companies visit the campus for internships and placements. Campus life is positive, student-driven, and friendly, but the institute is still working out of a temporary campus and lacks certain sports and recreational facilities. The fees are relatively high annually for B.Tech., with no substantial scholarships available. Living near GIFT City in Gandhinagar offers value from an industry exposure perspective; the campus may not yet have the best overall infrastructure and amenities.

facilities : 1 bed 1 study table 1 cupboard meal quality is quite good registration process is easy it is compulsory to live in hostel till 2nd year , from 3rd year onwards we live in rented rooms in orbit mall gandhinagar

faculty to student ratio is 1:9, the relationship of faculty to student is quite good , the college faculty resolve all the issues which the students are facing , my favourite faculty member is Dhrindra singh because he is very polite and explain all topics very deeply and clear all the doubts , there is no such faculty who i dont like , there are two examinations in each semester mid semster exam and end semester exam and the level of exam paper is quite difficult , all the students pass the both the exams only 2 or 3 students got supplementry , the course curriculum is quite good

Admission process and eligibility criteria

i apply for iiitkota , iiitvadodara (diu) , iiit nadpur and i apply in few nit colleges and i got confirmed admission in iiitkota but i choose iiitvadodara because this college has good placement statistics even in recession no, i got no rejection from other colleges which i applied to eligibility : qualify jee mains exam cuttoff : above 95 percentile overall admission experiencee is good

Nightlife

no gym facility is there , no cafeteries are there , no public areas are there campus and hostel in timing : 8 am no there are no such facility is there for hangouts , and no safe locality is there around college

Admission:

I applied for some other IIIT's and other good private colleges in my home state Gujarat. This college was at highest priority in my state as I always wanted to stay in my state. Also this college provides everything at comparatively some less fees than that of other private colleges in my college. Also due to package assurance I opted for this college.

Intro to IIITV- ICD

Admission:

I applied for many colleges including many NIT's and other top IIIT's. But I preffered this college the most as it was in my homestate Gujarat and provided the courses at much lower prices with respect to some other private collges, and also due to package assurance I selected this college. The admissions are taken only on the basis of JEE Mains.

I had applied to a few NITs, IITs it is and state engineering College through NIMCET and CEUT counselling process while I got shortlisted in a couple of State University I choose IIIT Vadodara ICD because of it's better Curriculum faculty and placement opportunities in the computer science domain Overall my admission experience was a smooth the counselling process was completely online after allotment that document verification if he payment per done digital I failed the process was systematic and student friendly

no permanent campus which also means no sports acctivity

My college is very close to my house, about 40 km far. I chose it because it was an Institute of National Importance and is partially funded by the government and it had a good placement statistics. And also because I was getting my desired course there.

Good Environment of Coding and the seniors are respectful too

Dislikes

For transportation there are non ac and old busses
There is no permanent campus so it is a bit chaotic in transportation

Elegibility is first you have to clear JEE Mains and you should have above 90+ percentile to get into this college. Exams take place two times in a Semester. Exams are taken in a week. All the exams are completed in a week

Things to Know about IIIT

Admission:

I took jee mains exams in 2023. I was preparing from fitjee Delhi. I took the exam for the January session. My percentile was 96.4. Later decreased to 92. I took the Josaa counselling and got it in round 7. I did not get any reservation benefits. The admission process was quite stressful and everyone goes through it

No, you cannot get IIIT Vadodara admission for the 2025 B.Tech course if you've scored less than 75% marks in Class 12 (for General/OBC), except if you belong to the top 20 percentile of your board.

Eligibility Criteria:

75% or above in Class 12 OR the top 20 percentile in your respective board

+ Valid JEE Main score + JoSAA counselling

Only 65% in Class 12 is sufficient for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

What should my preference be for IIIT Vadodara, IIIT Surat, IIIT Sonepat, and IIIT Kurnool?

I have friends in all the aforementioned colleges and thus am writing this answer based on collective experiences only. From the reviews of their respective colleges, I arrived at the conclusion that IIIT Sonepat is the best option among all these.

IIIT Sonepat fairs are better than the aforementioned institutes in terms of infrastructure, placement fees, etc. Here are a few strong reasons to choose IIIT Sonepat

Sonepat enjoys a good location advantage being located just half an hour away from Delhi.
Located near DU IIT Delhi and other institutes, you can easily enjoy their fests.
IIIT Sonepat is located in Delhi, the educational hub so it offers better coaching opportunities.
IIIT Sonepat has an excellent growth rate in comparison to other IIIT's.

Moreover, judging by my friends' experiences, the preference order I can up with is

IIIT Sonepat>>>>IIIT Surat >IIIT Vadodara>IIIT Kurnool

You should go with IIITs in any case as they are the better choice. You will be studying with some of the top students in the country who have managed to secure a rank under 35000. You will be exposed to a great study atmosphere and competition.

You cannot get this sort of exposure in local private colleges (with some exceptions) where several students get admission through management quota. Most of them are also from rich and well-to-do families who are just looking to secure a degree.

To be honest, you cannot compare an institute of national importance with a state-level private college. You should not underestimate the academics of colleges due to the absence of a permanent campus or infrastructure.

A lot of the students from these colleges have a really good caliber and the potential to gain international recognition without the support of the college administration.

What would be better if I am interested in both, EE at NIT Hamirpur or CSE at IIIT Vadodara?

Before selecting among institutes, you should decide which branch to opt for. As per the question asked, you must have an interest in both EE and CSE at the two specified institutes.

The points followed will give certain guidelines, based on which you can come to a conclusion.

CSE has a much better placement opportunity in the private sector all over India. But for electrical engineers, there is a good scope in the government sector.
Considering the reputation of institutes, NIT Hamirpur is a much better institute than IIIT Vadodara.
In NIT Hamirpur, the alumni base is obviously much stronger than that of IIIT Vadodara.
The campus life too is much better in NIT H. The only disadvantage is its location with no direct access to the city. On the other hand, Vadodara is a well-established city with proper communication to other cities. But, Hamirpur is not as bad a location as Mandi, and so is somewhat accessible.
NIT Hamirpur has one of the most beautiful campuses in India. So, the four years of engineering are very spent inside the campus of NIT H. No one regrets being on the campus by any means.

Considering the above points, it can be deduced that EE at NIT Hamirpur is a better option, having a better college reputation and good campus life.
