The placement system in the IIMA starts from December.This includes a three to four days of placement date, includes more than 160 companies are visiting the campus. these companies includes MNCs such as American express,BlackRock, consulting group such as master Card, Indian company such as Aditya Birla group ,Tata group ,Mahindra group technology companies such as Amazon Zomato .In the last almost 460 offers are provided to the students in the placement process.Many years ago someone claim that in campus 100% placement occurs.The average package is around 20LPA and the maximum was 75LPA.

The placement cell at IIMA holds considerable clout with leading companies and this reputation helps students claim not only a guaranteed placement at leading companies but also of their choice. The breadth of industries is also quite commendable.

Placement Experience:

The placement season at IIMA starts from December onward. This includes a three to four day marathon placement season that witnesses more than 150 companies visiting the campus. These companies include MNCs such as American Express, Blackrock, Boston Consulting Group, Mastercard, P&G, Nestle Indian conglomerates such as Aditya Birla Group, Tata Group, Mahindra Group, HUL, technology companies such as Amazon, Zomato, Sprinklr. In total ~480 offers are made to candidates in total across laterals as well as finals placement processes. A 100% placement has been a record at IIMA for many years now. While the average package lied somewhere around INR 20 LPA, the maximum was to the tune of INR 75 LPA (and perhaps even more for international locations). I ventured into consulting domain, one of the most revered and sought after clusters post my MBA at IIMA.

IIMs offer 100% placement and the average package of IIM A is 31 lpa which is quite great. Highest packages come close to 1 crore. Every student gets the opportunity of a summer internship program in the 1st year and some are offered pre placement offers too. After the second year students get placed in huge companies with great packages and tend to have a lavish life. IIM A alumni network is very strong too and students get to be inspired by great leader like Ajay Banga who is currently the CEO of Mastercard and nominated to be World Bank CEO too.

The placement process starts from the time we join the campus. It is a cluster cohort system, with an aim of right fit for every student.. For first-year students after completion of Term 1, a Summer internship takes place, and for second-year placement start after 5th term. Many companies visit campus offering various profiles in Finance, consulting, marketing, IT, product management, real estate, consumer goods, and pharmaceuticals. 190 recruiters offered 220 offers during the last season. However, it is confidential to share the name of the companies. Highest package was Rs. 1.12 CTC, an average of Rs. 36.2 LPA in India. Each of these IIMs has developed its unique personality over the years, and each one has its own strengths and weaknesses.

IIMB intakes people with good and relevant work experience, IIMA seeks a good academic record and a bit of humbleness in a candidate, and IIMC looks for strong analytical skills (it has the highest CAT cutoffs).

During placements, companies that want experienced professionals prefer IIMB, IIMA is visited by companies because of its strong alumni list, and IIMC is preferred by the Banking Sector because of the perception that its students are more quantitatively oriented.

The three of them receive almost the same companies during placements. So for a candidate seeking good career opportunities in a certain field, all three IIMs are equally good. It is just that each one has a certain image associated with its brand, and ranks accordingly in the preference lists of recruiters.

In contrast, the average package (Domestic) stood at INR 32.8 LPA and the average package (International) stood at $ 108,405.

PGP and PGP FABM are the flagship courses of IIM Ahmedabad which have an overall 100% placement percentage. Students of these courses secured placements across 30 different cohorts. There were 23 new companies which participated in the PGP placements. The major recruiters of PGP FABM are from various sectos like Agri inputs, Agri Tech, Consulting and FMCG.
