Which are the best colleges for Political Science honors at DU?

Pratima Khatri
Abhishek PandeyBechelors in Economics & English Literature, University of Delhi

If you are looking for a good college, you need a 90% or higher. There are Hindu, Ramjas, KMC, SGTB, and Hansraj for Political Science. And, to assist you further, Ramjas and Hindu College are the best choices among these.

Keep a close eye on all of the deadlines before applying for admission. Go to North Campus on the day of the first cutoff. There are many senior students who can advise new students on good colleges, exposure, faculty, infrastructure, and so on. You should visit different colleges based on your cutoff and talk to everyone about the subjects you have to study in addition to Political Science because each college offers different subjects that may or may not be of interest to you.

You should also look at college rankings. You must not forget to follow these steps before going straight for admission: carefully check cutoffs, visit colleges for guidance, and change admission if necessary if you get a good college in the next one.

Which is better for UPSC CSE PREPARATION BA or BA Hons in political science from DU?

Yuvraj DuaM.A. in Politics & International Relations, Jawaharlal Nehru University

BA and BA Honors are both excellent choices for UPSC CSE. It will aid you in your preparation for the Prelims and Main exams.

In BA course, you must study three different subjects, such as political science, history, and geography, which means that 50% of the syllabus has already been covered, and if you choose Political Science as an optional subject, another 40% has already been covered. So taking a BA course will improve your chances.

Now, moving on to the BA (Hons), you will study political science in depth, which will help you in the Mains because, as we all know, the difficulty level of optional is higher than the Bachelor level but lower than the Master's level, so it will benefit you greatly. However, because you will only be studying two subjects in your bachelor's programme, you will have to study the third subject on your own.

Thus, you should pursue a BA General course. However, as everyone knows, UPSC is all about extreme hard work, luck, proper planning, guidance, and several other factors. Make your own decision and put in your best effort.

The year wise fees which I paid in the college is around 20170 as such there is no bifurcation in the fees even this single time payment include tuition fees, caution fees, development fees and all the other charges except registration fees which will be paid during the exam time. The fees of my batch mats who belongs from the categories other than me such as SC, ST are generally same and no changes in fee structure. As a student of political science my annual fee is 20000 approx and this fee covers amidst 10 to 15 distinct charges such as library fees, tution fees, mess charges etc it same for all three year students also every batchmate of mine pays the same but some students belonging from sc and st have significantly lower fee than general student while exam registration fee approximately lies between 1100 to 1500. And yes college provides fee succession of 10 % to 100 % based upon merits particularly to the students of reserved category and EWS students. And for the scholarship it is also provided significantly based on merit.

Fees and Financial Aid:

My course fees was 20000 this year which is affordable comparing it with other private universities. Also that if it doesn't sound affordable then our college provides the student with Student Aid Fund in which few part of fees is refunded to the economically weaker students . The fees thought has increased from the last year by approx 3 thousand rupees but that has also led to increase in facilities like reading hall with Ac and new auditorium.
