Likes
- I will say the faculty that we have currently within political science honours is pretty great, same goes for other courses too, they have great experience.
- Cleanliness in college is also good, washrooms are regularly cleaned, there are sanitary amenities available for women in their washrooms.
- The canteen services are also good, regularly changed if students are not satisfied.
Dislikes
- Girls to boys ratio is not at all good, in ba courses it is around 70-30 ratio, while in bcom courses it is worst to around 85-15 ratio.
- Playground of the college is still in the making after almost 2 years.
Course Curriculum Overview
Regarding course curriculum, I am not satisfied the additional courses like SAC, VAC, AEC have no purpose, they are just a headache which makes it difficult for students to focus on the main subjects, although I am in favour of GE subjects. The marking scheme of 90 marks written paper and 70 marks for internal is also great. Fees and Financial Aid
Regarding the fees, it has been increasing yearly few years back it was around 7500 for Political science honours course but in recent years it has been increasing, there has been an increase in fee within a year too, when we took admission the fee was around 17000 and now in second year it has increased to around 20-21k. However students with reservation, majorly SC &ST, who are not welloff get certain concession in fee.
Campus Life
Campus Life is good but could be improved for example the annual events that are being organised are very limited as compared to other colleges which could be improved. However I will say that there are many clubs and regarding infrastructure it is also comparatively good and compared to other colleges I have been to.
Admission
I wanted to study Political science honours and thus my options were quite limited. And since I was not able to cross the cutoff for other topics colleges i got SBSC which was my 6 choice of college. Although in the beginning I felt that the college was not that good but with time I have realised that our college is also good, it provides great opportunities, placements for students.
Faculty
Faculties within the college are great, especially of political science honours and other BA programme courses, almost every professors are approachable. They have great knowledge of their following areas of study
Night Life
Our college is a morning and evening college so it is open very late till 10 p.m. or 11:00 p.m. and thus the night life is pretty great. The area around college is also quite safe they have been no cases of a students being threatened or lost as compared to other colleges similarly there are many shops to eat around college.
