FMS Delhi registration will start soon and will continue till the second week of December 2022. As per the FMS Delhi 2023 admission, candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of scores obtained in CAT 2022. The CAT score required for getting a call from FMS Delhi is mostly 99 percentile. After this shortlisted candidates will have to appear for GD-PI and extempore.
If you are a GEM (General Engineer Male) you will have to face the maximum hurdles. You will need a minimum of 99.3+ percentile along with 95+ percentile in the VARC section.
If you are a GEF(General Engineer Female) then you will get an additional 3% once you are through the interview round.
But the overall target to get a call remains the same for everyone i.e.99+ percentile.
For GEM, the CAT percentiles required to get an interview call from IIM Blackis, FMS, SP Jain, JBIMS, and MDI Gurgaon are
It’s important to know that these figures are based on trends and not on actual data so you will find exceptions everywhere. Moreover, it’s better you don’t waste time analyzing the CAT cutoff and start preparing for the same.
Yes, pursuing an MBA Executive from FMS Delhi is indeed a very good decision. This is because my brother was in the recent batch and according to him these are the reasons that make it a good choice
At IIM/FMS/JBIMS/SPJIMR/IIFT/XLRI, attendance is seen as a crucial aspect of the learning experience. Every effort must be made to be present in class and to participate actively in the discussions. In fact, class participation is considered to be such an important factor in determining grades that a significant portion of the total course weightage is allocated to it. This system is in place to encourage students to be engaged in the learning process and to ensure that they are taking full advantage of the educational opportunities available to them.
On the other hand, at IIT Kanpur, there is a more relaxed approach to attendance. While it is still advisable to attend classes and to be present for lectures, there is no strict requirement in place. This gives students more flexibility and allows them to choose when they want to attend classes based on their personal schedules or other commitments. It also means that engineering students are not penalized if they miss a class or two, as long as they are able to make up for it by participating in other ways, such as completing assignments or preparing for exams.
Overall, both B-schools and Engineering colleges have different approaches to attendance and class participation. While IIM Ahmedabad places a strong emphasis on being present in class and participating actively, IIT Kanpur takes a more relaxed approach. Ultimately, the choice between the two institutions will depend on the individual student's preferences and learning style.
Yes, there are many people who converted IIM, XLRI, FMS calls, even with a poor academic record. I personally know someone who scored less than 50 percentile in engineering yet got accepted at XLRI. He performed well in MBA and now works as a senior HR at a major eCommerce company.
Academic record isn’t the only thing that these institute takes into consideration while selecting students. Your entrance examination score, performance in GD-PI, extracurricular achievements, etc. are equally important.
The peer pool of IIM Ahmedabad varies from that of other B-schools like SP Jain, FMS, and NMIMS because of the admission criteria and quality of intake. The majority of the IIM Ahmedabad batch comprises performing students with CAT percentile almost touching 100 percentile. and most of them got close to the 100 percentile in CAT and they get opportunities to study business studies in IIM A, B, and C. Very few students get into IIMs through the process of diversification only if they scored more than 80 percent grade in Xth, XII th and Graduate Examinations. The other B schools like SP Jain, FMS, NMIMS, or JB don’t have such strict criteria and the peer pool comprises students from diverse academic profiles rather than just top CAT rankers.
This is the major point of difference between the two kinds of B Schools. As a result of this, IIM Ahmedabad students are offered better placement opportunities at the global level than these average B-schools.
Of course, yes. FMS Delhi is everyone's ideal college. The pattern has been changed, and the paper is now worth 228 points. A score of 115 is sufficient to receive a call from FMS. It is the only tier-1 college that places little emphasis on previous academic performance. If you scored a 99.50 or higher on the CAT exam, you will almost certainly receive a call from FMS. To transfer to college, one must be fluent in English.
The FMS process includes group discussions, extempore, and, finally, a personal interview. In addition, they included an SOP in their selection process. You must describe who you are, your accomplishments in the workplace, and your motivation for pursuing an MBA in a statement of purpose (SOP).
Everyone is interested in FMS because of its large batch size and high ROI. To get into FMS, you must score higher than the 99 percentile. Try your hardest to achieve the highest percentile possible while ignoring your academic records. FMS is the best option for you if your academic performance is subpar. Because the college calls candidates 10 times the number of seats, scoring 99.50 percentile guarantees you a call from FMS. There are 251 seats available in FMS. Simply devote yourself entirely to the preparations and concentrate on increasing your percentile. The higher your CAT exam score, the more likely it is that you will convert.
One of the most cited B Schools in India, the Faculty of Management Studies focuses more on management education and not just on business management. The pedagogy comprises fieldwork, case studies, and feedback with a strong emphasis on concepts and theory.
According to IIFT 2022, its national rank is 4th. I will try to give an unbiased review based on the following aspects
Placements
FMS Delhi maintains a stable placement record of almost 100% over the years. Students receive high salary packages every year. The highest salary this year stood at INR 58 LPA whereas the average salary stood at INR 34.2 LPA which increased by 30.5% as compared to the previous year. Some major firms that visited the campus for recruitment are Boston Consulting Group, Nykaa, Paytm, Adobe, Adani Group, and BYJU.
Infrastructure
Although FMS offers no special hostel facilities, the DU hostels are also a choice. Around 20% of the batch go for hostels test search for PGs or flats near the campus itself. The students can avail of playground and sports facilities at Delhi University.
Faculty
The faculty is top-notch and very experienced. The teaching is not restricted to classrooms and assignments rather the faculty adopts a case-based approach. Various live projects are conducted every year. Top management executives visit the campus and hold guest lectures to provide maximum exposure to its students. Other assignments and field projects have tight deadlines and aid in the proper evaluation of the students.
So overall I think FMS is really a good choice for someone who wants to learn from the best at minimal expenses.

How does FMS Delhi support students in securing internships and final placements, especially considering the competitive nature of the job market?
As per FMC guidelines, FMS provides 100% placements which means that they ensure that every student studying there will get a job from their campus. Plus they also say that the students will get the job of their choice in the field of their interest. The final placements at FMS are a two-step process. I guess it will have two rounds. The lateral Placements program which generally starts in December is an endeavor to adequately compensate students with relevant prior MBA experience.
What scores do I need in interviews, SOP discussion, and extempore? Also, is it likely for the composite score to decrease this time?"
My Overall Percentile stands at 99.69%. Here's the breakdown of my scaled scores: Overall - 89.36, VARC - 58.14, DILR - 19.61, QA - 11.61. Additionally, my academic scores are 9/9/8 GEF. My call composite score, based solely on CAT score, is 48.30. However, my selection composite score is 49.15 (CAT - 24.15, Acads - 20, Male candidate - 5).
To calculate the scores you need in interviews, SOP discussion, and extempore, as well as to estimate the likelihood of your composite score decreasing, let's break down the information provided:
1. **CAT Scores**:
- Overall CAT Percentile: 99.69%
- Scaled Scores: VARC - 58.14, DILR - 19.61, QA - 11.61
2. **Academic Scores**:
- 10th/12th/Graduation/Post-graduation: 9/9/8 GEF
3. **Composite Scores**:
- Call Composite Score (based solely on CAT score): 48.30
- Selection Composite Score (including CAT score, academic scores, and male candidate factor): 49.15
Given this information, let's analyze:
- Your overall CAT percentile is already very high (99.69%), indicating strong performance compared to other candidates.
- Your scaled scores in DILR and QA are relatively low compared to VARC. You may need to focus on improving your performance in these sections.
- Your academic scores are quite good, with a 9/9/8 GEF, which should positively contribute to your selection composite score.
- The selection composite score includes CAT score (24.15), academic scores (20), and male candidate factor (5). Since your CAT score is already high and academic scores are good, further improvement may not be necessary in these areas.
Considering the above points, to estimate the scores you need in interviews, SOP discussion, and extempore:
- Interviews, SOP discussion, and extempore are subjective assessments and do not have predefined score targets. However, your strong CAT percentile and academic scores should put you in a favorable position.
- Focus on presenting yourself confidently, articulating your thoughts clearly, and showcasing your achievements and aspirations effectively during interviews and SOP discussion.
- For extempore, practice speaking on a variety of topics to improve your communication skills and ability to think on your feet.
