How did you get into MBA in FMS Delhi?

I will narrate to you the experience of my sister who thought she could never make it into FMS. But she tried anyway and as luck would have it she made it! In 2016 my sister did not fill FMS application form as she thought she wouldn’t be accepted. With a percentile of 96.54, she got into MDI. Soon after she got interested in consulting, she rejected MDI and with little hope fill the application form for FMS the next year. With a CAT percentile of 99.21, she received an interview call. Almost all the other candidates had a better percentile than her. Yet she did not give up and went into the interview room with full confidence and a positive attitude. Amazingly she ranked 3rd out of 1010 candidates for GD/PI/Extempore Rounds. After a waitlist, she finally made it into FMS Delhi. Once admitted she never took this opportunity for granted and made the best out of her MBA years. So never give up even before trying!

Will I get a good placement with 70% in 10th, 70% in 12th, 63% in graduation, and an MBA from FMS Delhi?

If you are concerned about your past academic records then rest assured for the final placements don’t usually pay much attention to past academic records. MBA is much more than just learning and writing your answers and scoring good marks. It is more about applying logic and increasing your decision-making skills. So to compensate for your poor past academic performance, become a part of the managerial committee and improve your resume. Enhancing your decision-making and managerial skills will increase your chances of getting a good placement than your academic background. Also, FMS in itself is a brand name that will fetch you a good package.

Which one is better MBA from FMS Delhi or IIT Delhi?

It is not a brainer that an MBA from FMS Delhi is a much better choice than IIT Delhi. IIT Delhi's MBA program is not even close to that if FMS and both are poles apart. If you want your MBA degree to be valuable enough to shape your career drastically, FMS is the one for you. Here are a few pointers as to why I am so strongly in favor of FMS Delhi: Ranking: One of the most valued ranking systems, IIRF ranks DMS IITD MBA 14 out of 44 colleges in India while FMS is ranked 5 out of 44 colleges in India in 2023. Fees: IIT Delhi offers MBA at around INR 10.4 Lakhs (for 2 years) while FMS has very low fees of around INR 96,000 per year. This is almost 1/4th of the fees of the MBA program offered at IIT Delhi despite being way ahead in terms of brand value. Placements: Being one of the premier B-schools in the country, it offers excellent placements that almost par with the top IIMs and its placements are nowhere comparable to IIT Delhi’s placements. It may seem inappropriate to reveal the recruiters name, but the company was a bulge bracket investment bank and is a regular recruiter at FMS Delhi. It only hires from the countrys Top 3 Business Schools for its coveted front-end Investment Banking position. The company only hires through the summer placement process from three Indian business schools whose Finance curriculum, practical exposure, and candidate quality meet the companys high expectations, which include a salary of INR 66 LPA. The company typically hires candidates with Outstanding academic records from Old IITs/BITs/CAs/Top Commerce Colleges and conducts interviews that can be very challenging, especially when focusing on the candidates business and financial intellect. Interns who can manage an 80-100 hour work week during their summer internship while consistently delivering high-quality analysis, ideas, and presentations are offered a Pre-Placement offer for their coveted Front End Investment Banking role. During the two-month summer internship, the company pays a stipend of Rs 2 lakh per month.

For people with lower academics, which MBA college is better, IIM ABC, FMS or XLRI?

Honestly speaking, it might be very difficult to secure admission in the aforementioned B Schools with low academic scores. However, these are not the only B schools in India providing excellent Management education. These B Schools require a decent academic background with a good CAT score. The list is as follows S. P. What are the pros and cons of doing an MBA from FMS Delhi University?

Theres no point in going over the usual benefits like placements, good professors, university infrastructure and fees, and so on. However, it is critical to consider some genuine and neutral arguments in favor of IIMs (at least in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta). When making decisions, many B-school aspirants mention ROI. The wealth maximization theory provides the NPV method, which is superior to the rate of return theory. Your future cash flows are indeed influenced by your B-school, and the difference is usually large enough to outweigh the outflow in year zero. An important question to ask yourself is, "Are you doing an MBA to save money or to add value?" If the latter is your answer, you should be prepared to pay a reasonable price for it. Theres a reason people like the IIM label. It still carries some clout in the market. In terms of B-school brand value, an IIM has a faster growth rate. As a result, there is a chance that FMS will lose to IIM IKS in the next 10-15 years. Having a subsidized university education comes with its own set of costs. Placements are completely student-led. There is no credit system, which makes student exchange difficult. For FMS, the semester system is the norm, which has its own drawbacks.

After receiving an MBA from FMS Delhi, life became quite simple owing to the following reason Placements Excellent placement, and a variety of offers from different fields made it easier for the students. FMS Delhi maintains a stable placement record over years. Students receive lucrative salary packages every year. This year too was no different. The highest salary stood at INR 58 LPA. Students received an average salary of INR 34.2 LPA which increased by 30.5% (approximately) as compared to the previous year. There was an increase of 37% in the top 100 average salaries, 24% in the freshers average salary.

Why are Delhi School of Economics and other better ROI colleges like JBIMS and many more for an MBA not as popular as FMS?

Here are some of the reasons that should be mentioned: DSE MBA was founded in 1986, whereas FMS was founded in 1954. An older institute has more alumni to leverage for placements and thus more alumni to build credibility in the institute branding. Until 2015, DSE offered a "Master" degree in HR/OD and IB, titled Master of Organization Development and Human Resources and Master of International Business. Two things stand out: i)HR/OD and IB are niche areas to enter in comparison to an MBA-Fin and MBA-Marketing. ii) A MHROD/MIB has lower popularity than an MBA. FMS has significantly more industry exposure than DSE, owing primarily to alumni/family of alumni/friends of alumni. Quality of Faculty: Though both FMS and DSE are run by DU, what DU lacks in academic-focused faculty is more than made up for in FMS, which has regular mandatory industry guest lecturers. The higher cut-off in FMS (relative to DSE) year after year ensures (though is not guaranteed) a certain quality benchmark of students coming in, leading to increased competition and peer learning. Something DSE could think about.

That's great! Honestly, I've been watching some of the Drishti Mock Interviews for the IAS exams and I feel like this is quite similar compared to those. Having a vast knowledge of various fields like current affairs, finance, marketing and even having a liking for economics and business is very important. Sometimes you get random topics for your extempore like favourite food or sometimes you get a few complex topics like marketing techniques for elections. Whatever topic you get, if you don't have information about it, just be honest and tell them you don't know but don't go through too many topics or else the interviewer might get annoyed. If you don't know a topic, tell them as much as you know. Being honest with them is key and be concise with your matter

As per FMC guidelines, FMS provides 100% placements which means that they ensure that every student studying there will get a job from their campus. Plus they also say that the students will get the job of their choice in the field of their interest. The final placements at FMS are a two-step process. I guess it will have two rounds. The lateral Placements program which generally starts in December is an endeavor to adequately compensate students with relevant prior MBA experience.

The culture of the place is great! It teaches you to be humble and how to make the best of whatever sources you have!
Guidance provided by the seniors and faculty during summer internship process

Dislikes

Lack of campus life as we do not get to stay on campus.
Lack of infrastructure- sports grounds, auditorium etc.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fee of the institute has increased a lot in the past few years but it still is nowhere near the IIMs. The fee here is around 50k per semester making it around 2lakhs for the entire course. Apart from the college fee, being a student run campus one also has to pay 1lakh to the student association (MSA) in two installments, i.e. 50k per year. There are a few scholarships available but the amount is very small but you can easily avail loans at very low interest rates. FMS provides great summer internship opportunities. The average stipend for summer placements is around 1.5 lakh per month. This place has the best ROI with great final placements and lowest fees among all the MBA colleges in India!

An overview of FMS Delhi

ROI: It is the best college in terms of ROI. It gives you equal opportunities at a much better cost.
Student driven campus: All activities are planned by students themselves on the campus

No hostel facilities for students to reside and learn together providing better opportunities for networking and collaboration.

The fees for per semester is around Rs 52,000 which makes total fees equal to around Rs 2,08,000. Their is an additional MSA fees which vary every year from the range of Rs 45000-55000. The employment opportunities are provided on campus and FMS has a good record in the field.

The fees have increased by two thousand at FMS which is currently at 52000. The fees for MBA here are extremely low in comparison to other B-schools in India and its return on investment is the maximum in the country.

FMS Delhi - Admissions, College life, and Placements.

Fee Structure- the low fees allows a lot of us with high opportunity costs to pursue an MBA. Further, it also allows us to follow our dream domain without having to worry about repaying a heft loan amount.
Location- Being located in the heart of the Capital city, we get access to a lot of resources and opportunities such as live projects etc.

Semester System- Since the other Bschools globally follow a trimester system, we cant take up a term abroad. however, summer schools are always an option.
Fresher Cohort- the admission criteria has no weightage to work experience, making the batch majorly freshers.

As known to every one, and being one of the two USPs of FMS (First one being it's historic legacy of being one of the oldest B schools in the country) FMS's Fee structure is extremely affordable at literally 1/15th of other comparable B schools, capped at 220000 for the current batch. There are a lot of ways to fund your education, including multiple scholarships such as the OP Jindal Scholarship, IDFC scholarship and other Govt. Scholarships. Students mostly recover more than their entire fee in their summer internships itself with an average stipend of around 3 lakhs (for two months of Summer Internship).

Truly the "Red Building of Dreams"!

Top notch faculty, some of the best professors in the whole country.
Great location, North Campus in Delhi offers great off-campus spots to have fun and also connectivity.

Lack of some sports facilities like playground.

The fee structure here is very desirable, it's so affordable that it's unparalleled by any other tier 1 B-school in the country. The fee was hiked by about Rs. 3000 per semester this year, raising the total fees to around 2.1 Lakhs for the whole course, and that is still less than 1/10th of most IIM's The student body is also to be paid about 45k per year on top of that, which makes you a member of the MSA along with many amenities. That however, is not mandatory (although it's best to be a part of it).

Fees are one of the best factors here as it Is one of the best b-school in India with the lowest fee structure. The fees are approximately 48k per semester and around 1700 for exams which are very less compared to other b-schools in India. The fees are very less compared to all other IIMs Or any MBA colleges in general. The opportunities that you get have no limits though, everyone on campus ensures you have all that you need to excel.

Life at Red Building of Dreams

The tuition fee is very less when compared to the top B-Schools. It is around Rs. 200000/- for the complete course. You don't have a college hostel, but you can avail of the Delhi University Hostel facility. There is various scholarship for the economically weaker section and reserved category people. You opt for a Bank loan if you wish to which is not at all required. All your tuition fees can be reimbursed with the stipend you receive during your internship. The average stipend for 2020-24 bath is 1.52 lac per month and the median stipend is 1.5 lac per month which is par with the top B-Schools in India.
