How are placements for electricial engineering students in Thapar University?

According to some of my friends studying there, the institute has managed to show good placement records every year. Students often receive Pre-placement offers by top companies in their 6th semester after they had training or internship with them. Placement highlights: A total of 264 recruiting companies visited the campus for placements. On average, about 90% of B.Tech students were placed. The highest CTC offered in B.Tech at Thapar was INR 25 LPA and the average CTC was between INR 6-8 LPA. The top recruiting firms for Electrical engineering are Maruti, Deloitte, Exl Analytics, Tata Motors, Mu Sigma, Honda, Schneider Electric, Asian paints, Reliance, Wipro, Sapient, etc. The internship opportunities are also good and these turn into full-time offers sometimes. Electrical course, you can secure internship opportunities twice, wherein the first one will be in the 8th semester, and the other one is a 6 week-long training period. Students who acquire placements with FTE+intersip or only internship have to continue doing it for as long as the contract is. Students who don’t secure any placement must work on their own to obtain internships. It’s better to choose an internship program at any core company. Elsewise, you will obtain lower grades. For the 6-week training, you will need to search for internship opportunities, especially on your own in numerous parts of the industry. The firms can range anywhere from a reactor plant, a thermal plant, or a hydroelectric plant. It depends upon your academic exposure and credentials. The work should be related to the branch and the topics you are familiar with. Make sure to create the file with accurate and standard formatting, to avoid mark deduction.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The tuition fees per semester for B.E. Electrical Engineering were Rs.1,23,600, the Examination fees were Rs.3000, the Development fees were Rs.55,000, and the Medical and Insurance charges were Rs.500. These are per-semester fees. The Yearly fees were around Rs. 4 lakhs, not including hostel and mess charges. There are many Merit-based scholarships available for students, for students above a CGPA of 8.5 there were scholarships and their tuition fees were laid off up to a certain percentage. Scholarships are available for Jammu Kashmir students.

Dislikes

Heavy workload and constant push to excel in exams.
Tuition fees and other costs are quite high.

The fee structure for UG programs like B.E. ranges from 4 Lakh to 5 Lakh per year. To support financially, the university provides merit-based scholarships for high achievers, need-based financial aid, and special scholarships.

Honest review by a 3rd year electrical student

Tution fee for each semester is depend on the which branch you pursue in thapar. So according to electrical engineering branch our semester tution fee is around 1.5 lakhs, and hostel feee is around 50k. Including other facilities. The complete cost of education in 4 years should be around 20 lakhs. But there are lot of scholarships for the students who are getting top grade in each semester and other scholarships also according to financial conditions of the families.

Best campus life

Tution fee of my branch i.e electrical engineering was around 12 lac in total. Amd addings on it, hostel fee would be around 3 to 4 lac in total which includes mess fee as well. So in total i can say the total fee structure for me was around 16 lac. There are no as such compulsory charges except it. There are multiple scholarships opportunities students can avail. In the first year itself, students can avail these scholarships depending on their jee mains score or 12th score. Ans they can continue this scholarship till the last sem of clg through maintaining their cgpa above 8 consistenly. Amd even in each year the dean of academic affairs (doaa) of the college announces the list for students with highest cgpa of respective branches and these students get various scholarships for their upcoming semesters in the college.

So I came to know that tution fees increase 10% year by year. But I am not so sure about it. This can be verified by the official website of Thapar or can be viewed in their brochure. Scholarships are provided on many provisions such as sports or academics.

The tuition fee structure is available on the official website and differs from branch to branch. The tuition fees for each year are revised every year and the rate of hikes is about 5%. The complete cost of my education would land somewhere around 21 lacs in total without availing of any scholarship from the college. There are three types of scholarship schemes available for students: the first one is through your AGPA (Merit cum means), the second one is for poor financial condition students and the third one is the alumni scholarship(Alumni scholarship). Under these scholarships, there are multiple financial aid scholarships provided which can be availed by any student. I have availed many scholarships from the college. Recently I got an on-campus opportunity offered by JP Morgan Chase & Co. as an SDE intern with a stipend of 75K per month.

Quite busy academic schedule, the quizes and assignments are held very frequently so you dont get much of free time.
75% attendance criteria is too strict even for senior years.

There is 10% increase in the tuition fees every year and the complete degree will cost you around 20-25 lakhs (hostel and mess included) but the institute provides a lot of scholarships , firstly on the basis of your JEE score and then on your CGPA, (top 10% students from every branch get full tuition fee wavier), also there are special scholarships for female candidates and for candidates with low family income
