Thapar University Admissions 2026 Eligibility Criteria

• UG (B.Tech): Candidates must have passed Class 12 with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in Physics, Mathematics, and one other subject (Chemistry/Biology). For B.E., a student must have JEE Main 2025.
• PG (M.Tech/MCA/M.Sc): A Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (55% for reserved categories).
• PhD: A Master’s degree in the relevant stream with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks.

Thapar University Admissions 2026 Selection Process

• B.Tech/BE: Admissions are conducted via two modes: 50% seats through JEE Main 2026 scores and 50% seats based on Class 12 Merit.
• MCA: Admission will be made based on merit of 10th, 12th, and graduation (up to the end of the 2nd year, a minimum of 65% marks is required).
• M.Tech: Preference is given to candidates with valid GATE scores.
• PhD: Admission is based on a university-conducted entrance test and an interview. Candidates with UGC/CSIR-NET or GATE scores are generally exempted from the written test.
