My overall experience at thapar is good and satisfying.
I liked opportunities available to us. Various companies visit the campus for internship and placement.
The overall infrastructure of Thapar is great. Teachers are supportive and encouraging.

Dislikes

The course of core subjects can be improved a little.
The fees charged is quite high. The fees charged should be a bit flexible.
Students should be exposed to more hands on learning experience.

Course Curriculum Overview

The electrical engineering course is quite comprehensive along with practical components. The course contains several course learning objectives that are covered by the respective faculty during the length of the course. The course learning objectives are designed as to enhance the technical knowledge of the student along with exposure to practical aspects of the subject. The difficulty level of exams can be considered medium.

Class Size: 96Course Fees: INR 2500000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Different companies such as jp morgan, Reliance, paytm, linkedin, accenture etc. visit the campus for internship opportunities. Tech Companies offer the students the role of software developer with high stipend. Students expected to give valuable input to the company and learn high value skills.

Placement Experience

The overall placement scenario of college is good. Various tech and core companies visit the campus. Companies like paypal, linkedin, accenture, jp Morgan etc. visit the campus. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th sem.

Fees and Financial Aid

The complete fees for the course is twenty five lakhs. The fees includes tution fees, service fees and other compulsory charges etc. Scholarships are available for meritorious students. Scholarship listsare released annually.

Campus Life

The main feet of the college is saturnalia, it happens annually in the month of november.There are various clubs and societies present, that a student can enroll themselves in. The overall campus life is good. Infrastructure, sport facilities are great. Different and useful books and journals are readily available in the library .

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facilities in Thapar are great. Different kind of rooms are available in hostels- such as 2-seater, 1-seater, 3-seater etc. Mess facility is good. Night canteens are available in every hostel. Mostly rooms have the provision of ac. Hostels are allocated on the basis of merit only.

Hostel Fee: INR 55000 per year

Admission

The admission process mainly takes place in two ways- one is through board percentage and other is through jee mains percentile. The admission process was quite smooth. The application form was available on thapar university's official site along with course fee details.

Chandigarh University - My experience from fees to social life

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is good and cover every aspects of learning and skills needed in today's time but it feels the semester get over to fast in around 3.5 months with 3 exams and lab exam. They should provide the real learning based on a student interest some student are good in coding but they lack to communicate better, they should focus on that part also as they also do in many cases by giving subjects like soft skills and communication skills every sem.The teacher should not be reading the ppt only . We can do that also why we are paying that much fees just to learn from a teacher who is just reading the slides.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i would rate the course curriculum as largely relevant and fairly comprehensive,. one of the main reasons i chose this course was the balance between conceptual foundations and practical exposure. the curricuum supports future academic growth since many of the modules introduce us to advance topics early, making it easier to explore research. some topics feel slightly outdated and could be aligned better with the current industry skills and technologies. the exam schedule is manageable, though sometimes multiple assessments happen in the same week or same day, ehich adds pressure . Spacing out evaluations a bit more and giving clearer rubrics could improve the overall experience

I had a really nice percentile of 98.9 in jee mains but what happend is i intentionally wanted to score 69 in boards i didnt know about the 75 percent jee mains criteria i got 69.7 i like to call it 69.69 but i messed up so i applied in vit as well and srm and thapar i got in all of them after giving there respective tests on the same fees but i chose thapar was better after some consultation with my relatives who are in this field and know people in this field i got admission in the end on basis on jee only in thapar and the experience is well...Read More
