Infrastructure & Academic Building

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I choosed Computer science in this college because its the oldest of it and considered the best branch at thapar. The teachings are generally from ppts of teachers and some lectures. Exams are easy to prepare and the difficulty level is not much they are moderate and equivalent to the assignments given by them to practice.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are a lot of MNCs including microsost, infosys, deloitte, TCS etc. College provides interships from 3rd year which are really worth attending. There will be day to day projects are students which help them to improve there resumes.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are really great of our college as its avg pakage is of 11 lac from computer related branches. Girls are eligible in second year for inters and for boys its generally from 3rd year because of the reservations.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for computer science is 342500 starting addmission fee which is included in the first tution fee and for other branches it is lesser and the fee increases with the year. Scolarships are available if we have 85 above percentage on tution fee.

Campus Life

5

The overall experience of my college is really great. There are lot of tech and non tech fest throughtoout the year. Library is one of the best things of thapar and is considered on national level. Classrooms are well air conditioned and have a good environment for studying.

Hostel Facilities

5

Rooms are of all types including signle seater, 2S, 4S in first year, both ac and non ac. Rooms have study tables and they are well maintained. Hostel mess is hygenic and the meels are good including sweetes in dinner.

Admission

I was getting addmission in some other private colleges but this was near to me and had a great rew.. Its infra and hostels are really worth it. The addimission was on the basis of JEE result and for COE branch the cutoff was approx 83 with punjab state quota. There is no exam for it just an form to be filled.

Faculty

5

Faculty is really good and approaching them is easy not too tough. Mainly its our self study. Exams are mid sem test and end sem test. Before mst we have some sessional tets and quiz and same for est.

Night Life

4

Nightlife of thapar is amazing as we have to take night permissions from clubs or in other ways. Gyms in each hostels are open till 10 and they are really in a good condition. The hostel closing timings are 8:30 which makes a bit diffficult to enjoy the nightlife of thapar.

The placement of our college is good but its lack to bring big names but overall it's 3 out of 5 as it's basically focus on bringing software companies but our stream is of electronics so we donot have that much knowledge about coding so we lack to get placed this is the only disadvantage of the placement cell here

In 3rd semester a student is eligible for campus placement but it is all upto to students that they have to maintain a good cgpa and skills for interviews. In Chitkara university a good number of companies visited like Microsoft, google and they provide 100+ offerletters. 85-90 % students get placed in Chitkara university. After getting degree I firstly join to the company .

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
