Course Curriculum Overview
Electronics and Computer engineering course is really great choice for students who are confused between ECE and CSE, as you get the taste of both of these subjects in one course, though electronics cover the 70 percent of syllabus, rest are the main topics of CSE like Programming,DBMS, OS, OOPS etc. Mostly PPT are provided as study materials teachers also provide notes and advise books for interested students.
Internships Opportunities
Some companies like Goldman Sachs, American Express, Salesforce, JP Morgan and Chase come for internships in 5th semester but very less students are selected and many are not even allowed to sit for the OA's as CG cuts are really high.Mostly companies come for software and non tech roles .Also very less core companies visit campus for placements and internships.
Placement Experience
Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Admission
I did not get a a government college or BITS because of my poor score in JEE and BITSAT so the only good private college in North India is Thapar with decent placement statistics, with great alumni network .Admission mostly takes place through online portal and formalities for hostel and mess are completed as you visit campus. Admissions also take place thorugh December exam .
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is decent (1:100),faculty is really supportive if you want to learn and grow they provide guidence and may take you up in reserach and their projects. Dr Anil Singh taught me Digital System Design, really a great mentor.Exam are taken twice: Mid semester and end semester exams .Quizzes and lab evaluations also take place, you can score well if you study 1 week before.
