ECE at Thapar University is more Hardware orientated. You may find yourself dealing with semiconductors for about 3 to 3.5 years. In addition to this, will be the onslaught of programming languages and a little portion of database and networking. In case you opt for the Computer Science program, you'll notice that it is purely software-oriented and has a lot more on programming languages, architectures, databases,, and networking. ECE is the 2nd best option after CSE as its cut-off is just below it. One of my friends had been in the very first batch of B.E Electronics and Computer branch. I might be able to share some facts about the college and the course which can be useful. The batch size consists of 68 students. The placement records were pretty good. This branch was considered for recruitment in the core companies of both ECE and CS. Students were placed by some of the top recruiting core CS companies that include D.E Shaw, Microsoft, Walmart, Samsung, Wipro as well core Electronics companies such as NXP, Mentor Graphics, etc. The average placement package for the first batch was 7 LPA while the highest was 16 LPA for this branch. The course curriculum of this branch includes the core subjects from both ECE and CS branches. The student gets a sneak peek at the common subjects required for the placement criteria for the core CS as well as ECE branches. If the students are not a big fan of coding cultures that the CS branch usually offers nor good at ECE setups then they would not regret getting into this branch. In the end, the placement will only be availed by the students with their hard work and efforts.

If you want to get placed then different online courses are required, can't depend on the college to give you a practical experience.
The syllabus they used to isn't up to the mark.

Fees and Financial Aid:

Admission Fee- Rs.30000(one time, Non-refundable) Yearly fee for course is Rs.610000 for AIML, COE, CSE, ENC courses. Hostel Charges per semester- Rs.30000 to Rs.70000 Mess Charges- Rs. 25500 Students with more than 80% in PCM are eligible for 30% tuition fee waiver. With those between 75% and 80% percent are eligible for a 20% waiver. Top 10% students in each branch recieve merit based scholorships ranging from Rs.1 Lakh to Rs.3 Lakh depending on the branch. Economically disadvantaged students can get need based scholorships covering their hostel fee.

Very Expensive fees structure. Not all can afford it

our yearly fees is about 6lackh including mess and hostel charges that we pay all together. This fees keeps on incresing by 10 percent each year. my current 5th semester 2,19,300 rupees and my hostel fees is 58,000 rupees. scholarships are also provied based on CG and JEE scores.

Thapar fees increases every year. Initial fees starts from 2.2 lacs yearly exc. hostel and mess. Scholarship is provided on the basis jee score to the first year and cgpa score from 2nd year onwards. Hostel fees varies from hostel to hostel and mess fees is constant ,i.e, 27000.

The total tution fee for 4 years is 24 lakhs. This fees is for courses like COPC , COE and ENC. The total tution fee for other courses ranges from 18 lakhs to 21 lakhs. Scholarships are also available if you maintain a good CGPA. Merit cum need and merit scholarships are available.

Review of Thapar College

The year-wise fees of course ENC is 600000 rupees, registration fees is 1500 rupees, admission fees is 30000 rupees, hostel fees is 75000, mess fees is 50000 rupees per year. Branches like chemical, civil, ECE have 30000 to 40000 rupees less than ENC. and fees for CS is equal to ENC. Scholarships are available on the basis of CGPA achieved in college exams. Reservation of seats exists for Punjab students. They are given preference for branch allocation and hostel allocation earlier than other state students.

Fees of thapar is very high and increasing year by year

Tuition fees of Thapar is really high. It has categorised its fees according to the courses like for computer brances like COPC COBS COE it will cost you around 30L for 4 years including hostel and everything and for Electronics related branches it will be around 26-27L. And tuition and hostel fees are increasing year by year. You will get the full chart of fees structure on the website of thapar for all four year with full transparency. There is an SBI bank branch also which will help you to get easy loan and college even support that. If you have decent rank then you will also get good amount of scholarship like TF/2 or full TF. And this scholarship is branch wise so many will get benefit of the scholarship.

Summary of thapar

The fees is quite over rated according to the facilities

Fee is near around 2.25 lakhs per semester and 60-80 k for hostels which is but high but there are scholarships and there are many programs which help you support financially. Jobs are provided and many companies visit for internship and ppo offers on a regular basis. Jobs provided have a good stipend and now even thapar as started a venture lab which is providing more opportunities to the students.

Thapar-the second best private institution after BITS

Fee structure varies from course to course but there are many scholarships given to the students on the basis of their cgpa and the percentile and obviously the percentage they scored in class 12th.many good employment opportunities are also available in the campus

Fees ranges from 20 lacs to 25 lacs for a total of 4 years of btech course. There are around 300 company visiting thapar for placement with average package around 10-14 lacks per annum. Which is pretty decent for average package
