The hostels are decent. The 1st year hostels are livable but the hostels from 2nd year onwards are great. The M hostel is just WOW. The food is handeled by sudexo or by thapar internal committee. The food quality and quantity is great The hostels are even better if you are a girl. We have hostel night once every semester to enjoy with our room mates and with friends.

The hostels are a recommendation for thapar. The rooms are here ac and non ac both. In some hostels there are rooms with attached washroom. The mess menu is changed frequently by the mess commitee. The prices vary 65000 to 114000 per semester this includes the mess fee as well as all the maintaining fees.

So First-year students don't get AC in the first sem and use a common washroom. from the second semester, you have an option to get air-conditioned rooms. Rooms range from 1 to 4 students in a room and hostels are allotted on a CGPA basis after the first year. From the Second year onwards you can opt for a washroom attached between 2- 2 seater rooms. One of the downsides that many students might not find, but I do, is that Thapar University has a PURE VEG mess and I'm a pure NON-VEG so its kinda difficult for me to adjust but , at the same time there are many shops on campus that sell nonveg so it isn't that difficult of a shift.

Hostel facility in the campus is good. There are 9 hostel for boys and 6 hostel for girls. Also every room in the hostel is well furnished and has air conditioning. My hostel fee for one semester is Rs. 53,500 and mess fee if 24,000 . The mess food is good and hygenic. Also there is a night canteen in every hostel. So for hostel allocation a preferrence orden is filled by a student in google form made by thapar and hostel is allocated on the basis of CGPA. The affordability is less than or equal to PG outside the college, so college is a better option. Also if we live in PG then it may or may not have a good locality so hostel is the best option for college.

The current room is a two seater, has an ac, a balcony and an attached washroom. We have 4 lifts in the hostel. The food is decent, with a varying menu. It doesn't match the home cooked meals but isn't that bad either. Hostel registrations are smooth. Sometimes the hostels are alloted on the basis of CGPA.

The hostel for the 1st year students is the most loved hostel in Thapar University because of numerous reasons.
Since this will be the first hostel in your college life you will always have a special place for it in your heart. The facilities provided by the hostel are good.
Hostel J at Thapar University is amazing. It offers all the necessary facilities. It is well equipped, and surrounded by greenery. Its mess offers better food than all the other hostels. Even the night mess offers good food. The rooms of Hostel J are airy and large in size. Infrastructure-wise, everyone at Thapar finds the Hostel J building quite attractive. Plus, it offers a good gym facility.
These are some reasons why Hostel J is one of the top hostel complexes of Thapar University, and probably even India.
This is what Hostel K in Thapar University looks like
The Hostel K in Thapar University is assigned to 2nd-year students. The hostel has provisions for both AC and non-AC rooms. The rooms are well-furnished and spacious.
Here are a few important points regarding the living conditions of the students here
Overall, Hostel K has poor living conditions and authorities need to take care of the mess facilities here especially.
Since my sister recently graduated from Thapar, I think I can answer this. Only three hostels, hostels B, C, and H are available for first-year boys.
Out of these hostels, at hostel H there are some AC rooms. It depends on your JEE Mains whether you will get any of the AC rooms at hostel H. Having a good JEE mains score will be beneficial. However, since everyone prefers AC rooms nowadays, the AC rooms get allotted very fast.
Hostel H is also closest to the academics block. It is pretty good. The rooms are spacious. But it lacks interaction with hostels B and C. It also does not have a badminton court or a garden area.
Most freshers are allotted Hostel C at Thapar University.
It is the oldest hostel of the university, and has spacious rooms. It is well maintained and has access to modern facilities like 24 hour IP camera surveillance, Wifi connectivity, P A system and a mini laundry plant.
Other than these facilities, Hostel C has a well equipped gym, a tv room/common room, a library cum reading room, hot water facility, RO treated drinking water, and indoor games facility for tt, carom, chess and badminton.
The hostel C lawns are big and well maintained, thus providing a serene environment. Its mess serves good and hygienic food. The mess committee looks after mess related affairs, and it is composed of Hostel C residents. The students of Hostel C themselves decide their mess’s menu. The executive committee of residents runs the day to day hostel affairs.
Thus overall, life at Hostel C is quite good. You will enjoy your stay here, in case you are allotted this hostel.
You’ll get most of the required items at Kabir General Store in COS. But you can still bring along these things, especially if you have spare ones at home-
These are the things you can bring to the Thapar University hostel as a fresher.
Check the following points to understand a basic difference between both hostels:
Therefore, both Hostel C and J of Thapar University are good. Try to live in every hostel for different years of your student life. As each of them will give you different experiences each year.
The Thapar University hostels are quite safe.
There is a zero tolerance policy towards ragging, indiscipline and illegal substances within the hostel premises. In-house laundry facilities are available at affordable charges. The mess food is good quality and hygienic. Moreover, each hostel is provided with good wifi connectivity and AC rooms. The fresher hostels have common washrooms.
You can opt for either four seater, three seater or two seater rooms according to your comfort. The new hostels are well built, and even the old ones like B,C,A are well maintained. All hostel rooms are spacious, even the four seater ones. But during summers, the hot weather and mosquitoes can cause some discomfort.
Any complaints regarding the amenities are resolved by the hostel authorities. Almost all machines in the gyms are in working condition. The TV room is used for watching cricket and football matches, and the reading room is a suitable place for quiet studies. The reading rooms are equipped with ACs. Each hostel has a night canteen from where you can get some snacks.
Overall, Thapar has good hostel facilities.
