Hostel fees are not included. Even with annual increases and hostel fees, it will never reach 25 lakhs. CSE from Thapar is worthwhile because they have excellent placements and a welcoming environment. According to the 2020 placement highlights, more than 264 companies visited the placement drive and the highest CTC offered was 43 LPA. Also, there are a number of societies in Thapar where you can learn a variety of non-technical skills such as dance, singing, economics (ECON Club), event management, marketing, and design and various events take place throughout the year. This contributes to an individual's overall development. Apart from what is included in the syllabus, there are societies that cater to technical learning such as CCS, Microsoft Student Chapter (for CS students, anyone with an interest is welcome to join), IEEE, IETE (for ECE students), and many more for all branches. All these factors make Thapar a good option for pursuing a CSE degree.

Which is better, Thapar CSE or BIT Mesra ECE?

You should choose BIT Mesra ECE. It has a better brand value. It will be easier to get good opportunities in terms of placements and higher education. BIT Mesra placements are excellent. Honest is the best Policy

The fee structure for computer science is 342500 starting addmission fee which is included in the first tution fee and for other branches it is lesser and the fee increases with the year. Scolarships are available if we have 85 above percentage on tution fee.

Its all really nice

There is a tuition fee of 300000 per semester and 42k for the hostel for 4 bedded room and then there is a 21.5k for the mess fees and the same is repeated for the other semester altough there are several scolarships which even waive the full tuiton fees if you have gotten more than 90 percent in class 12 th and you keep scoring more than 8.5cg

Thapar University: A gateway to exposure and vibrant campus life

Dislikes

Fees is too much and increases 10% every year.

I paid around 18 lakh fees, the total fees was around 20 lakh, I got merit scholarship of 2 lakh in first year. Top 10% students of every branch get merit scholarships amounting of 3 lakh, 2 lakh, 1 lakh. There is also scholarships for economically weak students, they only have to pay hostel fees.

The yearly fee was 300000. I dont remember the breakdown. The fees of my batchmates were same as me. In my first year, I got a scholorship based on my Jee mains rank. To get the scholorship continued for the second year onwarsds I had to have a good cgpa then only I could have got the scholorship.

The fees is quite high and is unaffordable for most students

I will be paying around 6 lakh rupees per year. There are scholarships based on Merit basis and also based on Merit cum needs basis, i.e, based on the annual family income of the student. The scholarship is hard to obtain and requires a high CGPA.

Year wise fees is 6 lakh odd something. Tution fees for 4 years is 23.8 lakhs. Hostel fees is 49k per semester. scholarships are available for merit and merit cum need based. 100 percent tution fee waiver to top 250 students of college.
