Likes

TIET has very good infrastructure including lecture hall, library and synthetic track
Seniors and professors and very supportive.
Lot of networking can be done through clubs and societies

Dislikes

Quizzes and lab evaluations are mostly every month
Lot of file work which is not needed as everything is available on internet
compulsory 75% attendance to maintain which get difficult till last semester

Course Curriculum Overview

Courses are updated and there is lot of practical knowledge . Labs are there for almost every subject which give us most of the industrial knowledge. Latest technology related subjects like robotics,VLSI design etc are added in curriculum.

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 400000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Many companies like JPMC, Expedia, Sales force etc come for internships. There are 2 types of internship provided one is summer internship for 2 months and other is 6 months internship in last semester. Monthly salary offered is 40K which changes accordingly.

Placement Experience

TIET has decent placements as compared to other private colleges. The average package is 11.5 lakh per annum. 6 months internship is important in last semester of college. Average internship package is 40k per month and depends accordingly.

Fees and Financial Aid

10% tution fee is increased every year. There are many scholarships available ,some are given on JEE Main score. Top 10% students of every branch are given scholarship every year and there are scholarships for single girl child and for students coming from low income family background.

Campus Life

There are many clubs and societies mostly in every field. There are more than 60 societies which work actively and provide a platform to showcase talent and do networking ."Saturnalia" is the annual cultural fest which held in the month of November every year . TIET has the best infrastructure as compared to other colleges.

Hostel Facilities

Thapar has one of the best infrastructure. It includes every neccessary item like mattress, study table,almira and AC too. Laundary services are provided. Lifts are also there in hostels. Cleaning is done daily and washrooms are clean most of the time. Registeration of hostels are done at the time of admission

Hostel Fee: INR 110000 per year

Admission

It was based on JEE exam and 12th board percentage. Both procedeures are given equal weightage. Counselling is done offline . Reservation is there for students of Punjab.Application forms are availabe on college site and they open by April of every year.

Good campus life with decent academics

Placement Experience:

Placement are decent.Many companies visit the campus,but getting a good package depends on your skills and performance.Teh university also provides training support. Some companies like Deloitte,nexity consulting,Bigbasket,zepto etc visited are campus.

Average placements for the college. As for the good stduents and competitive students companies r coming and they get internships and jobs . Companies like Deloitte, Adobe , Playsimple. Scalar AI labs , LG etc .Good Stsrtup and well knowed companies gave placements .

Life at Chandigarh University A CSE Student

Placement Experience:

As a BE Computer Science student at Chandigarh University, placements are decent but depend a lot on individual skills. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester, and most of the placement process happens in the 7th and 8th semesters. Many companies visit the campus every year like Microsoft, Amazon, Cognizant, Capgemini, TCS, Infosys, Wipro and some startups as well. There are a good number of offers made, especially from mass recruiters like TCS, Infosys and Cognizant. The highest package claimed by the university goes very high, even above 40 LPA, but those are for a very small number of students. Realistically, the average package for CSE students is around 5 to 7 LPA. Mass recruiters usually offer packages between 3 to 5 LPA. Around 70 to 80 percent of students get placed if they are consistent with coding and preparation. Those who depend only on college studies may find it harder due to high competition. The university also provides training for aptitude, coding tests and interviews which helps in preparation. After completing my degree, my plan is to get placed in a good product based company. At the same time, I am also focusing on improving my coding skills and working on projects so that I can aim for better opportunities or even higher studies if needed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1) I want to go in construction industry so i chose this field. 2) Currently our college curriculum is updated so its relevant i will say around 70 to 80% . 3) For improvement Faculties should be brought from all over india as professors here are only concentrated from ludhiana itself. and labs are very old it should be upgraded. 5) In a semester there are 2 monthly exams and one end semester exam. 6) As far as difficuly level of exam is concerned it is not much difficult if someone solved PYQ thoroughly.

Honest is the best Policy

I was getting addmission in some other private colleges but this was near to me and had a great rew.. Its infra and hostels are really worth it. inside campus walls

i applied for lnmiit college jaipur . there i was expecting computer branch but did got electronics branch so i didnt went there.here in thapar it was based on jee mains percentile for addmission. computer branches were available till 89 percentile for punjab students and till 94 percentile for outside punjab students. so i had percentile of 95 so i easily got computer branch over here....Read More
