I had applied to multiple colleges like it, sem, Manipal but I chose Thapar due to the class size and the infrastructure and most importantly the culture of a North Indian College. I applied for 5 Colleges and their reasons for not attending are :- 1) VIT (VELLORE) - Too far from my hometown and is established in a rural area. The College is extremely crowded. 2) MANIPAL (MAIN CAMPUS) - Too far from my hometown. 3) JIIT - Placements not so well as compared to other colleges and not so many research facilities. 4) SRM (KTR CAMPUS) - Placements not so well as compared to other colleges. I didn't avail for any quota but the college provides 50% home domicile quota to Punjab studnets and other SC/ST/J&K migrants. The admission criteria have 60%+ in Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
