To register for GATE 2026, candidates have to log in to the GATE 2026 official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in, which has been launched on 5th August 2026 along with the official notification, exam dates & schedule.

For the GATE Login, candidates have to fill out the registration form, upload the documents, and pay the application fee.

  • The GATE 2026 Registration will start from 25th August, 2026, and will continue till 25th September 2026. The Deadline to fill the application form with late fees is 6th October 2026.
  • By doing the GATE Login, candidates can check their application status, make the corrections and download the admit card and then can also check the answer key and results once they are released.

After completing the registration process, candidates should save the GATE Login credentials to use them for future purpose to confirm their application and to check the final result.

How to create GATE Login?

How to create GATE 2026 Login @gate2026.iitg.ac.in?

Students who are planning to apply for GATE have to first register or login to the GOAPS portal. Students will require a valid email ID, mobile number for registration. The detailed step by step procedure to register is as follows

  • Step 1 - Open the official website of GATE
  • Step 2 - Click on the “New Candidate Registration” link
  • Step 3 - Enter the required information
  • Step 4 - Create a password of your choice
  • Step 5 - Click on Submit button to complete the registration process

After the completion of registration, students will receive an email in their registered email ID and a message in their mobile about GATE registration or login enrollment ID/number and password. Students must keep the email and message safe till the completion of the complete process related to GATE.

GATE Login Enrollment ID and Password

GOAPS Enrollment ID: 

  • Each and every candidate appearing for GOAPS will be provided with an Enrollment ID. 
  • After registration, an e-mail containing the GOAPS Enrollment ID will be sent to the candidate. 
  • This Enrollment ID will be used as the reference ID for all future communication.

GOAPS Password: 

  • The candidate has to choose a strong password during the Enrollment. 
  • This password must be remembered along with the GOAPS Enrollment ID to login to the portal.
  • It is strongly recommended to choose a password that cannot be guessed and cracked easily. Keep your password information safe, secure, and confidential.

Filling Online Application Form using GATE Login 

The first use of GATE login is during the registration process. Candidates are advised to keep the following details and documents ready before they fill the application form:-

Personal Information:

  • Name, date of birth, personal mobile number, email ID parent’s name, parent’s mobile number, etc.
  • Postal Address for Communication (including PIN code)
  • Degree details.
  • College address
  • PIN code of college
  • GATE paper.
  • Choice of GATE examination cities
  • Scanned image of your photograph
  • Scanned image of your signature
  • Scanned copy of the Eligibility Document.
  • Scanned copy of the Category Certificate.
  • Details of ID Proof
  • Bank details for application fees.

Photograph:

  • You must scan a color recently taken passport size photo with a white or a light color.
  • Size of the photograph (3.5 cm (Width) x 4.5 cm (Height).
  • The file format should be in JPEG only.
  • The maximum dimensions can be 480 x 640 pixels (0.3 Megapixels)
  • The minimum dimensions can be 240 x 320 pixels.
  • The face should not be hidden by the hair of the head
  • Candidates wearing spectacles should remove the spectacles and take the photograph to avoid any red glares.

Signature Specifications:

  • Sign with black or dark blue ink pen only.
  • The signature is not in CAPITAL letters
  • Scan the signature by using a professional scanner.
  • Only JPEG image format will be accepted.

Documents to be uploaded by International Candidates

  1. Personal information.

Step 1 - Registration: Register for GATE by entering the following details-

  • First Name
  • Middle Name
  • Surname
  • Name of the Candidate

After confirming your above details, the following details had to be added:

Step 2 - Login after registration

  • Enter the Enrolment ID sent in the mail of Registered Email ID as well as the password set to log in. 
  • Use the details and proceed to fill the GATE application form.
  • To proceed to fill the application form of GATE, you will have to accept the declaration.

Step 3 - Filling the details in the GATE application form

Fill in the details as required or asked in each section.The details to be filled in this section are mentioned below. Kindly ensure that you follow the steps carefully:

  • Paper, you wish to appear for. 
  • Choice of Examination CITY.
  • Next, choose three exam cities.
  • Applicant's Personal Details - Ensure that the details match those in the degree as that will be used for verification. Any small mistake can lead to rejection of your application form.

The following details will be automatically filled. It will be filled by the system on the basis of your registration details:

  • Enrolment ID
  • Name of candidate
  • Email ID
  • Mobile No

The other details to be filled are:

  • Date of Birth, Gender, Name of Parent/Guardian, Mobile No of Parent/Guardian, Nationality, Category
  • ID Proof, ID Proof Number
  • Name of Parent/Guardian
  • Country of Residence of Parent/Guardian
  • Mobile Number of Parent/Guardian

Correspondence Address:

  • Address line 1
  • Address line 2 (Optional)
  • Address line 3 (Optional)
  • Correspondence Address City/Town

Qualifying Degree Details: 

All details related to the academic qualifications and degree has to be entered.

  • Institute Registration/Roll No
  • Qualifying Degree.
  • The discipline of choosing the Qualifying Degree: Click on "Other" if the qualifying degree was done outside India.
  • Year of qualifying degree
  • State/Union Territory
  • City/Town
  • College/University Name
  • PIN Code: PIN code of college to be entered.

Step 4: Upload Documents

  • The scanned photograph, signature as well as the documents asked will have to be uploaded after this. 
  • After successfully uploading, it is advisable to save and view the application form before submitting it so that you can edit the information in case of any mistake.

  • Payment Mode: Online payment can be made only through Net Banking or Debit/Credit Cards. Additional bank charges may be applicable.
  • Printing the GATE application form and checking Application Status - On successful payment, you can successfully print your GATE application form. 
  • In case of any mistakes or errors, the candidates will be sent an SMS and Email to intimate you about the same and its rectification. 
  • You can always log in to GOAPS anytime to print your application form.

In case the candidates have misplaced or have forgotten their login, they need to get them back. To do so they need to follow the steps that are mentioned below:

  • Click on the link that will be available on the official website written as forgot password.
  • Next, on the open window, the candidates will have to now click on the link that says “forgot enrollment ID or password” as shown

  • After that, the following window will automatically open after you click. Check on the suitable option and get the details back.

Once the process is done the candidates get an auto-generated enrollment Id over their registered email ID. The candidates can now use the newly generated ID and password and further use it to log in and access all other things under the login.

GATE 2026 Admit Card is a necessary document to carry along with valid ID proof on exam day. The details of GATE 2026 Exam Centers, exam date, timings, etc will be mentioned on your admit card.   • Visit GATE Login or GOAPS

  • Click on the link ‘GATE Answer Key

  • Then Click on ‘Raise Objection’
  • Enter the required details such as the question number for which you want to raise an objection, the question ID and the correct answer.

Candidates must make note that GATE Marks and GATE Scores are two separate entities. Marks in GATE will be calculated out of 100, while as per GATE Score Calculation, the scores for GATE will be derived out of 1000 after normalization. Various PSUs also use GATE scores for recruitment purposes.
