GATE 2025 Registration with late fee is still open. IIT Roorkee has extended the deadline for submitting the GATE 2025 application form with late fees till October 11. Earlier, the last date to complete the GATE 2025 registration with late fees was October 7, 2024. GATE 2025 Registration window without late fees was open October 3, 2024. After the conclusion of GATE 2025 registration process, the exam authority will open the form correction window on November 5, 2024. Reserved category candidates will get relaxation in registration fees. This year, IIT Roorkee will conduct the exam in multiple sessions across 200 exam centres in India.
- In 2024, a total of 8,26,239 students registered for the GATE exam. Out of the total registered candidates, 79% of candidates appeared in the GATE exam and 19% of candidates qualified for the exam.
- CE, CS, ME, and EC are some branches that have maximum candidates. The least number of candidates appeared from AE and XH-C2.

Are you talking about Two Paper Combinations? Candidates can appear for two papers maximum. The combinations of those two papers are pre-decided. One has to choose the combination as per their qualifying degree and eligibility.

If we fill the wrong graduation year in the application form, there is a chance to correct it. The GOAPS portal ( GATE Online Application Processing System) opens for 2 days, so that we can edit our details. Applicants receive an email regarding this information. There is also a correction charge of INR 500.

What is the GATE registration number without a paper code?
The format of your registration number looks like this: ME24S1XXXXXX. In this number ME signifies your subject code. 24 refers to the exam year. S1 - is the code of the afternoon session. And the last 6 digits is your registration number. So your registration number without a code is 24S1XXXXXX.

Candidates with a bachelor's degree or master degree in Engineering are eligible for appearing for Gate exams. Candidates with only Diploma or Advance Diploma cannot apply for Gate.
