What's New in GATE 2025 Registration Process?

IIT Roorkee has now enabled the option for candidates to add a secondary GATE 2025 Test Paper. To add a second paper, candidates can log in to the GOAPS portal and follow the required steps. The submission of the GATE 2025 application form closed on October 3, 2024 (without late fees) and October 11, 2024 (with late fees).

For those who have already submitted their GATE application with a single test paper, here's how you can add a second one:

  1. Log in to the GOAPS portal and locate the option to add a second paper.
  2. Select "GATE Paper II" and confirm your choice.
  3. Follow the instructions provided and proceed to the payment section.
  4. You will need to pay INR 2300/- using one of the available payment methods.

The exam authority will open the form correction window on November 5, 2024. Reserved category candidates will get relaxation in registration fees. This year, IIT Roorkee will conduct the exam in multiple sessions across 200 exam centres in India.

  • In 2024, a total of 8,26,239 students registered for the GATE exam. Out of the total registered candidates, 79% of candidates appeared in the GATE exam and 19% of candidates qualified for the exam.
  • CE, CS, ME, and EC are some branches that have maximum candidates. The least number of candidates appeared from AE and XH-C2.

This year GATE 2025 exam is scheduled to be conducted on February 1st, 2nd, 15th, and 16th, 2025. The GATE 2025 Registration process includes several stages like candidate registration, uploading documents, submission of fees etc. The conducting authoriuty will conduct the entire process in online.

Are you talking about Two Paper Combinations? Candidates can appear for two papers maximum. The combinations of those two papers are pre-decided. One has to choose the combination as per their qualifying degree and eligibility.

In case you have mentioned the wrong graduation year. So what was the procedure you followed to correct it?

If we fill the wrong graduation year in the application form, there is a chance to correct it. The GOAPS portal ( GATE Online Application Processing System) opens for 2 days, so that we can edit our details. Applicants receive an email regarding this information. There is also a correction charge of INR 500.

What is the GATE registration number without a paper code?

The format of your registration number looks like this: ME24S1XXXXXX. In this number ME signifies your subject code. 24 refers to the exam year. S1 - is the code of the afternoon session. And the last 6 digits is your registration number. So your registration number without a code is 24S1XXXXXX.
