The GATE 2025 examination is scheduled for February 1, 2, 15 and 16, 2025. The examination will be carried out in two shifts: Morning: 9:30 am-12:30 pm and Afternoon: 2:30 pm-5:30 pm To access this examination fluently, the candidates must download their GATE 2025 admit card from the official website gate2025.iitr.ac.in.

Berlow the important information that you must consider before leaving for the exam centre:

Point Details
Printed Copy Required Bring a printed (hard) copy of the GATE 2025 admit card.
Electronic (soft) copies will not be accepted. Candidates with only digital copies will be denied entry.
Restricted Items Do not bring unauthorized items such as mobile phones, calculators, or electronic gadgets.
Only the specified items (e.g., ball pen, valid photo ID) are allowed.
Original Photo ID Carry an original photo ID that clearly matches the appearance on the admit card.
Acceptable IDs include: Passport, Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID, Driver’s License, etc.
No Duplicate Admit Card The exam authority will not issue duplicate admit cards at the examination center.
No Late Entry Arrive at the exam center before the reporting time mentioned on the admit card.

Question 1. I uploaded my Aadhaar Card as my photo ID but entered the PAN Card number in the ID Number field (or vice versa). Will my application be rejected?

Answer- Your application will be marked as DEFECTIVE. You will be notified via email, SMS, or phone by your respective zone to rectify the defect. You must either upload the correct photo ID image or make corrections to the ID Number field before the deadline. Failure to do so may result in your application being considered PROVISIONAL or REJECTED.

Question 2. There is a spelling mistake in my name, and my application has been marked as defective. Can I correct it?

Answer- You cannot make changes immediately after submitting your application. However, corrections can be made within a specified time window by providing supporting documents.

Question 3. I want to use my new name after marriage, but my photo ID has my old name. Will my application be rejected?

Answer- You can upload the photo ID with your old name along with an affidavit. Without this, your application may be marked as PROVISIONAL or REJECTED. Additionally, you must carry the affidavit along with your photo ID to the examination hall.

Question 4. Can I show a soft copy of the admit card to enter the examination center?

Answer- No, soft copies of the admit card are not allowed. You must carry a hard copy of your admit card along with one original photo ID proof.

Ques. Is it possible to get into IIT Tirupati just by the GATE qualifying marks?

Yes, it may be possible. Here are the reasons why- IIT Tirupati is a very new IIT, established in 2015. It is not well known currently, especially in North India.  It releases its applications quite early. Its MS and Phd. batches started only a few years ago, so those with better scores will prefer NITs over IIT Tirupati.
