IIT Guwahati M.Tech Admission through GATE 2024
IIT Guwahati offers admission to both full-time and part-time M.Tech courses. However, candidates who have completed B.Tech from IIT or have not appeared/ qualified GATE exam can also apply for M.Tech. In such cases, M.Tech admissions will be offered based on a written test/ interview. After passing GATE exam, candidates are to register for the COAP counseling process. GATE COAP or Common Offer Acceptance Portal is a common platform for candidates who have qualified GATE exam to make a preferred choice for M.tech admission in participating IITs/ PSU offers.

IIT Guwahati M.Tech Admission through GATE 2024: Eligibility Criteria
Basic eligibility criteria for IIT Guwahati Admissions 2021 are given below.

IIT Guwahati M.Tech Admissions through GATE 2024: Application Process
The entire procedure for IIT Guwahati M.Tech Admissions will be conducted only via online mode. Through COAP, the candidate needs to submit their preferences to take part in GATE 2024 Counselling. For non-GATE qualified candidates,IIT Guwahati will conduct a written test for the shortlisted candidate. After qualifying for the written test, the candidate should pass the interview round. The final selection will be concluded after that.
Steps to apply for M.Tech Admissions to IIT Guwahati are given below:
- Visit the official website of both, COAP and IIT Guwahati and select the option Online application form
- Fill the online application form and submit it (follow the guidelines for ‘Filling-up Online M.Tech/M.Des Application Form’)
- Upload the photograph and relevant documents mentioned below. The documents can only be uploaded after successful submission of the online application form. Uploading documents is mandatory else the application will not be considered further.
- Take a printout of a completely filled application form and also keep the copy of it in your system/pen drive. Candidate need not send hard copy to the institute

If a candidate is shortlisted and called to appear in Written Test/ Interview/Counselling, he/she will be required to bring a Demand Draft for the respective application fee amount mentioned in the table above, from any nationalized bank, in favor of INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY GUWAHATI, payable at Guwahati.
Note: At the end of the application process, candidates can opt for the Graduate Fellowship Scheme (DGFS) under the Department of Atomic Energy. This is optional. In case a candidate gets admission in M.Tech Programme in IIT Guwahati and DGFS simultaneously, he/she will be eligible for DGFS while pursuing M.Tech at IIT Guwahati
