Students wishing to take admission in IIT Roorkee must fulfill the necessary eligibility criteria. Passing B.E/B. Tech degree with an aggregate of 60% from any recognised university is compulsory for admission.

IIT Roorkee M.Tech. Admission through GATE 2026: Selection Process
- Students will be shortlisted for M.Tech admission at IIT Roorkee based on the Merit list prepared by the authorities on the basis of GATE scores post the conclusion of the application process.
- Admissions will be made on the basis of either Normalized GATE Marks only or Normalized GATE Marks and Interview/Written Test.
- For sponsored candidates, admission will be made on the basis of an Interview/Written Test and relevant experience.
- Once qualified, the candidates will have to attend counselling at the Institute for document verification and admission fee submission. The admission will stand provisional until all the required documents are submitted and accepted without any discrepancy.
- The final selection will be based on the GATE cutoff. If you have not applied for the counseling process at the COAP portal then you will not be able to receive an admission offer from IITs.
