The faculties teaching here are all smart people who are foremost in their areas of research and teach with great inspiration.
The campus provides placements and internship opportunities for us, which helps a lot for us in building our career.
My experience with campus life at iit gandhinagar has been characterized by vibrant social interactions, active club involvement, and excellent infrastructure.

Dislikes

I don't like that there are only two mess which causes us delay
PLACEMENT over here is also not that great as cse branch had been introduced over here in the recent years
Some lectures such as World Civilization and Cultures are very boring.

The Ultimate Guide to IIT Gandinagar

Likes

Hostel and sports facilties , natural beauty of the campus
The quality of food provided by mess is good.
The curriculum offered here is quite balanced and effective .

Dislikes

the distance of the college from the city is large
There are various wild animals roaming around in the campus
There are various events now and then , So there is a lot of noise in the hostel area.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario here is good like the average placement across all the branches is about 15 lakhs per annum. and talking about the computer Science branch , it about 29 lakh per annum . The major companies that come to the campus are Atlassian, Devrepp, PUMA, Amul, SkanAI, Citi bank etc . The highest package is about 75 lakh annum which was offered by Accenture Japan and for India , it was about 57 lakh offered by Atlassian . Almost all the student sitting for the placement get placement get placed and only those student remains which either want to get into higher studies or they want to build their own startup.

Life as an IITian

Likes

The hostels are very well-kept, and the rooms and corridors are spacious, the washrooms hygienic.
The sports facilities provided are really really awesome.
There's no restriction on inter-hostel movements.

Dislikes

The academics are tough and require a lot of efforts.
Blithchron and Amalthea are not very populor
Less number of food outlets inside the campus

Placement Experience:

The students become elibigle for internships from 5th semester and for placements from 7th semester. Almost 90% of the people who apply for placements get a job. The highest package is of 72 Lakhs CTC, while the average package is 10-11 Lakhs per annum. I, however, plan to pursue higher studies (M.Tech) after completing my degree.

Overview of all aspects of IIT Gandhinagar

Likes

Good infrastructure. Hostels and mess facilities are good.
Sports facilities are very good. Facilities for all sports are available.
Good amount of freedom and no restrictions on hostel movement.

Dislikes

Poor club involvement and activities. no work done in clubs
room for improvement in placement statistics
lot of unnecessary courses which are compulsory

Placement Experience:

Around 90% people get placements in the college, with around 15 lakhs as the average package. The highest package was about 76 lakhs ctc. Companies come after the 6th semester. I will go for campus placements for my career.

College Chronicles: A Journey Through Academia

Hostels facilities like Common room , washrooms are hygienic , rooms are equipped with ACs. All srudents have hostels with their respectrive years
Sports facilities like badminton, gymnasium, yoga room , basketball , frisbee, badminton, volleyball
Mess facilities we have 3 messes available

High Tuition Costs: Many students and their families find the cost of tuition to be a significant burden, especially considering the rising cost of higher education.
In highly competitive programs or institutions, students may feel pressured to constantly perform at their best, leading to stress and anxiety.
Dealing with administrative tasks such as registration, financial aid, and housing can be time-consuming and frustrating for students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Good faculty. The courses are designed such that it is applicable in real-life scenario. Also in IIT Gandhinagar , the courses have one project . Classes are mostly in morning and lab hours are in afternoon . We have to complete certain amount of credits in Physical education in the choice of our sports till 2 nd year.

My dream college IITGN

Likes

The campus infrastructure, the enviornment of the classrooms
The professors, the staff, the mess and laundry system
The stores present in the campus like JK grocery, Atul bakery

Dislikes

The early class system at 8 am in the morning
The distance we travel by foot and by cycle
Sometimes the mess food is not nice and we need to eat outside

Placement Experience:

The placements are amazing, the average packages for each discipline is about 20 lakh per annum with highest package being 70 lakh offered by a japan based company. John jacobs, barcleys, atlaissan, Accenture japan are some of the major companies that visited in department of CS about 90 % of the students are placed for each discipline I am planning to get dual major in CSE and chemical engineering

My stay at IIT

Likes

Swimming pool. I like swimming very much and I prefer to swim atleast 4-5 times a week. The pool here is well maintained with the necessary support staff. It is clean and safe.
Library. It's a very big and peaceful library. It has lakhs of books.
Mess. I like the mess food very much. The spicyness is just right to me.

Dislikes

Technical summit(amalthea). There is very low enthusiasm among the students in participating and organising the summit.
Distance from main city. The college is far far the main ahemdabad city. Hence for any small work I have to go to ahemdabad.
Placements. Our college is a research centric college. The placements are very low as compared to it peer IITs like Delhi Bombay kanpur Madras.

Placement Experience:

Placements in Mechanical engineering is fairly good with above 90%placement rate with average package of 15lpa in ME. Over 400 companies visit the campus. Last year highest package was 80lpa and the lowest was 10lpa across all streams. Because of the recession in IT, the placements this year is going to get adversely affected. Only the final year year students are eligible to sit for placements.

Life at IIT Gandhinagar

Likes

Sports facility - students have various sports options, like football, cricket, badminton, swimming, volleyball, basketball, athletic.
Friends - you make very friends at iit. They are very good student as well as good human.
Freedom - you can go everyone at any time (even in nights) anywhere

Dislikes

CPI criteria - you have to maintain a good score or cpi in academic which can prevent student to explore many things
Our college has internship opportunities but very few. So hard work needed to get internship
Placements are good but not for core branches like material and civil

Placement Experience:

Placements are not very great, but good enough. CSE and electrical branch students get high packages than others. From 7th sem, students are eligible for placements. Highest is 6500000 and average is 1600000 as per last year. Almost 92% students gets placements. I want to take placements after btech.

Faculty -- IIT Gn include a strong academic environment with knowledge faculty, well-designed courses.
Campus life at IIT Gn is vibrant, offering a mix of academic and extracurricular activities.

Dislikes

Some students may find the academic rigor challenging and the competitive atmosphere can be intense.
Additionally the workload and pressure associated with the coursework can be demanding.

When the college fests like Hallahbol, Blithchrone and Amalthia etc happens, that would be the most enjoyable moments.
The freedom this college provide to the student is the most loved thing. You can go to girls hostal and girls can come to boys hostal.
I like the greenery at IIT Gandhinagar. There are various types of trees, plants, flowers that makes me feel fresh.

Dislikes

Placement is not as good as I supposed before coming to college.
The academics are very hactic and makes me feel so tired.
The studnet politics that is from begining of the college, is a thing I hate most.

Placement Experience:

In my college, students typically become eligible for campus placements from their final or pre-final semesters, providing ample time to acquire relevant skills and knowledge. Several companies visit campuses to recruit students are Caltac, Wipro, Nike, Larsen and Tourbo Limited, Phonix Institute, IBM, Future First etc. I don't know the highest package, but the average package is around 20 LPA. In CSE and EE 100%, ME 90%, CE 95% are the percentage of student getting placement.

IIT Gandhinagar has a great CSE department. The professors are among the best in India. Almost 50% of the faculty members are from the industry. So, you will get hands-on learning experience and in-depth knowledge about the current trends in the industry.

IITGN has a high-performing computer lab and two departmental labs with a capacity of 100 computers each. The research interface of the department is something the institute boasts about. Professors actively take part in cutting-edge research projects.

Companies such as IOCL, Goldman Sachs, ISRO, ITC, etc. recruit CSE students through IIT Gandhinagar placements. The average CTC for the branch is around INR 18 LPA.

IIT Gandhinagar is a premier engineering institute even after that it has tried to contribute its fullest efficiency to the department of arts & humanities. The MA Program in Society and culture is one such example of it. The major highlights of the course are mentioned below:

It is an interdisciplinary and flexible course. It provides great insight into the cultural codes in the context of nations & societies.
You will develop a good skill base for doctoral studies, policy work, consultancy and it opens up a wide range of careers.
Students are given the freedom to touch subjects like Political Science, Communication, Neuroscience, and Psychology.
The course is provided as a blend so that a reasonable amount of freedom to follow their choice.

The three constituents of course are :

Literature & Society- To help understand the creativeness of languages across the society in sync with different caste, class, print, and digital cultures.
