The faculties teaching here are all smart people who are foremost in their areas of research and teach with great inspiration.
The campus provides placements and internship opportunities for us, which helps a lot for us in building our career.
My experience with campus life at iit gandhinagar has been characterized by vibrant social interactions, active club involvement, and excellent infrastructure.

Dislikes

I don't like that there are only two mess which causes us delay
PLACEMENT over here is also not that great as cse branch had been introduced over here in the recent years
Some lectures such as World Civilization and Cultures are very boring.

Life at IIT Gandhinagar

Likes

The campus environment. It is a very environmental friendly place with lush green trees.
Campus Life is very vibrant. Fests, and events are conducted timely with students involvement.
Infrastructure of the campus is also very good, the classrooms, the library and hostels are highly equipped

Dislikes

I think internship opportunities should be offered more for every branch students.
Mess does not provide non vegetarian food for free.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are offered in third year for internships and fourth year for jobs. Barclays, Infosys,TCS, Deloitte and they offer a lot of opportunities. For my branch that is computer science the average package is approximately 30000 and highest package 82000 CTC. In our branch 95 percent of the students are placed. My plans after getting the degree is to get placed in a good company at a good position.

Complete Review of IIT Gandhinagar

Likes

Good hostel rooms, which is the main attraction for coming into IIT Gandhinagar
A+ food quality accross the campus, including mess as well as outlets
Sports complex, which has more than 20 sports to play

Placement Experience:

Typically in the seventh semester, companies use to come in the campus for the placements. Companies like Amul, Adobe, Barclays, and others use to come here. Highest package of the institution goes around 65 lacs (of course for the CSE branch), and Average stays around 16 lacs. Most of the students have the plan to get a good company at the end of their graduation, and is also my plan.

A brief and detailed description of IITGN

Likes

Mess food is better than other colleges on the whole (other 2nd and 3rd generation IITs)
The sports facilities are really good, especially indoor courts
The professors have immense knowledge and a lot of experience in there domain.

Dislikes

The teaching assistance and official events (unacademic events) conducted will be in hindi only.
The location of the campus is just wilderness. You cant reach the city within an hour or so.

Placement Experience:

Placement offers are tolerable, but not very good when compared to older IITs. The college culture is to get a good offer for higher studies at abroad and then go for a good placement. But still almost all of the MNCs come for job placement. (Google, accentuate, etc. I am not sure)

A critical look at IIT Gandhinagar

Likes

The mess food was good when compared to other 2nd generation IITS and 3rd generation IITS according to my knowledge.
The sports complex is at international level standards.
The professors are very kind and they are teaching very well, as I have before coming to the college

Dislikes

The compulsory PE is annoying as hell, especially on the tougher semesters
Hindi is predominantly used inside the campus so students who has difficulty with Hindi would kinda suffer

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is kind of the same in all IITs so I don't think it a matter of doubt. But the effectiveness is rather a question of interest as we are made to study common concepts like physics, chemistry and mathematics in our first year of study which is not what one expects after clearing JEE advanced. The difficulty of the examination depends on the proffs who sets the question paper, but on an average it is difficult. We follow two exam policy which comprises of mid-semester and end-semester exams.

My wholesome college experience

Likes

I liked the courses here and teaching by faculty.
I also liked extracurricular activities like clubs and fests.
I like the opportunities provided by the college internships and placements.

Dislikes

Mess is a little less spicier even though it is diverse.

The campus provides placements and internship opportunities for us, which helps a lot for us in building our career. Internships usually are after 3rd year 2nd semester and placements are after 4th year 2nd semester. Many companies like Barclays, JSW, Adani, Delloitte, Infosys,etc. For CSE, the average package is 30LPA. And this avg package is growing yearly. In CSE department, almost 99% students are placed. My plan after my degree is to work in a good company. I feel the campus makes sure to give good opportunities for us.

I like the college atmosphere because there is a lot greenary in college.
I like the hostel rules in which they gave freedom
I like the foundation program in which they conduct one month for every first years.

Dislikes

I don't like the food in hostel because it doesn't taste good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Some courses are fixed for our graduation and some other are based on our interest. There will be limit of credits we are taking. The course difficulty is based on professor. And course policy also based on professor. professors give assignments ,quizes,project,labs,etc based on their opinion.

My experience at IIT Gandhinagar.

Likes

I like the curriculum at IIT Gandhinagar which is very flexible. Here you can explore courses of all the branches.
I love the facilities which include hostels and sports facilities and many other student run organisations, which include technical and cultural fests.
The college also focuses on entrepreneurship and leadership development. Which is very crucial in this modern age.

Dislikes

The placements here at IIT Gandhinagar are very less compared to other IITs.
I don't like some of the compulsory courses which are offered at the institutes, which include history and social science courses.
The mess food is slightly off and biased towards north Indian style.

Placement Experience:

From the starting of 3rd year students are eligible to apply for campus internships and placements. The percentage of placement is around 80 to 90% in the last academic year. Some of the companies that visited the campus in the last academic year include Texas Instruments and Nvidia. I am planning to pursue MBA after completing my b.tech in IIT Gandhinagar.

Things I like are our sports complex, which is all high tech and all the facilities are available

Dislikes

I disliked how everything is student run in our campus
There is no interaction between the seniors and juinors
Our campus is not lively none of the clubs are active

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester they are eligible for the placements, I am still in my second year so I am not sure about all the companies and their offers, I ll list a few like Barclays, atlassian, HDFC, Google, etc I think highest package this year is 85 Lakhs, and average package is maybe around 20 Lakhs. They won't be sharing the percentage of students getting placed so I don't know about it. My plan is to get placed in the college itself

Exploring the campus Life

Likes

Campus life is characterized by well-organized activities held on schedule, set against a backdrop of a clean and verdant environment.
Essential amenities such as shops, hospitals, hair salons, banks, post offices, and laundry facilities are available on campus to cater to students' needs.
Professors are consistently supportive and eager to engage with students.

Dislikes

One aspect I didn't enjoy was the food, particularly the heavy reliance on chapati and the preference for spicy dishes. Additionally, there seemed to be a greater variety and frequency of special non-vegetarian dishes compared to other food options,
What I found most challenging were the numerous assignments that left me with little time to complete them all, but I managed.
Another point to note is the lack of regular physical education. While it's not mandatory for everyone daily, it should be available as a personal choice for those who wish to participate.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for internships starting in their fifth semester and placements beginning in their seventh semester. Nearly 90% of applicants seeking placements are hired. The average package is between 10 and 11 lakhs per year, with the top package valued at 72 lakhs CTC. However, after receiving my degree, I intend to pursue graduate-level coursework (M.Tech).

IIT Gandhinagar has a great CSE department. The professors are among the best in India. Almost 50% of the faculty members are from the industry. So, you will get hands-on learning experience and in-depth knowledge about the current trends in the industry.

IITGN has a high-performing computer lab and two departmental labs with a capacity of 100 computers each. The research interface of the department is something the institute boasts about. Professors actively take part in cutting-edge research projects.

Companies such as IOCL, Goldman Sachs, ISRO, ITC, etc. recruit CSE students through IIT Gandhinagar placements. The average CTC for the branch is around INR 18 LPA.

IIT Gandhinagar is a premier engineering institute even after that it has tried to contribute its fullest efficiency to the department of arts & humanities. The MA Program in Society and culture is one such example of it. The major highlights of the course are mentioned below:

It is an interdisciplinary and flexible course. It provides great insight into the cultural codes in the context of nations & societies.
You will develop a good skill base for doctoral studies, policy work, consultancy and it opens up a wide range of careers.
Students are given the freedom to touch subjects like Political Science, Communication, Neuroscience, and Psychology.
The course is provided as a blend so that a reasonable amount of freedom to follow their choice.

The three constituents of course are :

Literature & Society- To help understand the creativeness of languages across the society in sync with different caste, class, print, and digital cultures.
