All faculty members at IITGN are very polite, helpful, knowledgable and inspires students to learn and grow. They have office hours for students so that they can ask their doubts personally without any hesitation ,but the no. of mathematics faculty members arec lesser as compared with other IITs. That's why they offer less no. of electives subjects. the level of courses are moderate to hard And pass percentage is depend on the instructor. And in one sem we have two exams and no. of quizes and asignments depending upon instructor.

The Faculty to Student Ratio is 1:8. In some classes, the faculty to student relationship is very good but in some classes, there is no relationship. All Faculties are highly approachable for doubts, projects, advice, etc. You may meet them after a Lecture or take an appointment by Email. There are 2 Exams in one Semester: A mid-semester exam and an end-semester exam. There also may be quizzes or graded labs in a course. Very Few Students fail to clear the exams. The Course Curriculum was recently updated so it is quite relevant.

all the professors over here are highly educated all of them have a phd mostly from foreign and Courses are taken by professors and its purely his choice how he wants to grade students, no objection to him. Whether the grading system is relative or absolute exam copies are mostly checked by the PhD and m tech students, exams are tough and which require conceptual clarity

All the faculty members are highly qualified. The faculty to student ratio is also decent. The exam pattern consist of mid term and final examination. Apart from that, weightage is also given to weekly assignments or projects.

If we talk branches-wise student prof ratio I would say it's fantastic for civil material and chemical and mechanical it's 7 /1 but for CSE and AI it's not. Mostly all professors are PhD holders from very good colleges like iit nit but all students like to study on YouTube. If we talk about approach and mentorship all professors are there any time we can book an appointment and go for your doubts. Some professors are strict in study.

The faculty members are very well qualified and have done most of their post graduation and PhDs from great foreign colleges. So they are well versed in what they teach and more emphasis is layed upon the practical stuff.

IITGN has amazing faculty members who are so helpful and approachable always. They make students engage in projects and also could help in getting better placements. They focus on actual learning than just getting the syllabus done.

Faculty members are brilliant researchers. They will help you a lot in your research related domain. But, also some professors will prefer their research above teaching, which eventually hampers students.

Mostly professors have done their PhD and are well experienced as well. In each course there are teaching assistent as well, who are usually M.Tech student for better connectivity with student and doubt solving.

There can’t be a single professor to blame but in general, the faculty of Electrical Engineering is not quite up to the mark.
Teaching:
Most of the research work here isn’t single funded. They claim to conduct world-class research but don’t have a single journal paper for years. This is the reason why IIT Gandhinagar ranking had many pitfalls in previous years.
Chemical Engineering has a broad scope outside India but is yet to make its mark here. The field is not developed here yet, the demand is low and so is the pay. If you are genuinely interested in this field and want to pursue a career in the same, universities in the USA and Germany provide excellent opportunities. To ensure the maximum utilization of the benefits of this field, we need qualified professionals.
Infrastructure: IIT Gandhinagar is well known for its infrastructure and facilities. The new hostel has excellent accommodation facilities with 90 Mbps speed wifi. The food served in the mess is decent and there are also 4 canteens that have got a 5-star rating from FSSAI. Students are provided with 24/7 medical facilities.
Faculty: Sparing a few assistant professors, the faculty is mostly dedicated, passionate, and very learned. They provided constant assistance to the students.
Course: All the courses have the same syllabus in the first year. The semester exams are no joke and can be quite challenging at times. You will get some free time post classes so prepare well and get a good CPI. The institute follows a relative grading system so the passing marks vary from teacher to teacher.
Placements: Out of 27 registered students this year, 16 got placed bringing the placement percentage to 52.26%. IIT Gandhinagar's average package of Chemical Engineering stood at INR 14.82 LPA while the median package stood at INR 14 LPA.
Overall, the chemical Engineering department of IIT Gandhinagar is very promising although the placements are still average and need to improve.
IIT Gandhinagar Mechanical Department is considered to be one of the top Mechanical Engineering departments in India, with a strong focus on undergraduate and graduate education.
