IIT Gandhinagar admission to more than 59 courses is conducted via national-level entrance examinations. IIT Gandhinagar offers admission in M.Tech & PGDIIT programs based on the written test and interview round. Candidates are shortlisted for the written and interview based on their academic record and GATE score. IIT Gandhinagar M.Tech Eligibility Criteria
- Pass in B.E. /B.Tech./M.Sc. degree or equivalent to that with a minimum of 55% marks (50% marks for SC /ST).

- The hostels are well maintained, neat and clean. each floor has a pantry equipped with an induction stove, a microwave oven, a refrigerator, and a water cooler.
- The sports facilites at IITGN are world-class. The sports facilities includes all indoor and outdoor sports. It also jhas an Olympic-sized aswimming pool.
Dislikes
- Mathematics faculty at IITGN is truly remarkable. They are not only experts in their field but also passionate about teaching and helping students grow But No. of mathematics professor is 12 which is less.
- Fests that are organized are comparitively less than old IITs.
Admission:
I applied for admission to IITGN fo IITGN for M.Sc. in mathematics. I gave the IIT JAM exam, and after clearing it, i had to make a list of the colleges(IITs) where i wanted to study. In the JAM exam, i got an AIR of 527. With this rank, i coukld not get into top older IITs. At IITGN, there are visiting faculty members who are professor at IIt Bombay and foreign universities. Most of the professor here have done their PhDs from foreign colleges, and they have good research career. And the faculty in Algebra is highly expert. and i also have interset in Algebra, which is why I chose this college.

- The Sports Complex is a major highlight of IIT Gandhinagar.
- The Campus Amenities are top notch and it is a fully green Campus.
Dislikes
- The Course Load is very High and you will get very less free Time.
- The Exams are quite challenging and you have to keep thinking out of the box.
Admission:
I applied to Birla Institute of Technology and got BITS Goa Mathematics and Computing but I did not take it as Gandhinagar is closer to my Home and the campus of IIT Gandhinagar is much better than BITS Goa.

- I like the hostels and the campus its very green and clean
- the friend circle, all of them are very different and creative as they belong to different part of India hence networking

- as the batch intake is very less there is not very club culture over here
- alumni network is also not that strong as the number of pass out is very less
Admission:
The admission process is through Jossa counseling i selected this college because of the rank that I had got, our college had state-of-the-art architecture as compared to other iits, moreover due to less number of batch sizes there are a lot of responsibilities that we learn. also, they treat you as an adult means that whatever happens they will never call your home nor they involve your parents in it hence we need to make our decisions on our own. There is nothing wrong that i have not gone to other colleges its pure luck on the examination day that i had been here

- The workload or course curriculam is slightly higher in core fields.
Admission:
Getting admission into this college is slightly difficuly due to high score in GATE exam. However, there is one different criteria of selection, i.e. top 5 students of some good ranking colleges and NIT are directly called for an interview and no GATE score is required. So, I prefer this college due to good rankings and better quality of education.

- Hostels with AC and in the 1st and second year thare are 3 shearing room but in second year we can choose our roommates
- Mess food is. Also very good but south indian may faced issues with that becouse there are not dedicated South Indian food just 1 to 2 times in a week
Dislikes
- In academic college needs to improve strictness
- Very long vacation 3months summer and 1 month winter
Admission:
I quilfied in jee advanced and then councelling by jossa I got college. If you had reservation then there is much diffrance in rank between crl and catagory rank If you scholarship less you get a good college

- The sports complex of the campus is brilliant and the facilities the college provides are excellent.
- The academic courses are very flexible and you can easily choose your graduation path.
Dislikes
- The student clubs don’t get much funding in the long run and people don’t participate as much.
Admission:
The admission through Indian Institute of technology, Gandhinagar is done through JEE advance and your rank determines your branch in IITs. So the cut-off for the last branch for general category goes up to around 14,000 rank. For JEE advance first need to qualify for JEE Mains in top 90 percentile. The application form Are released on the official NTA website. JEE Mains happens twice a year generally in January and April. JEE advance happens around ending of May or starting of June.

- Campus is too good and big. We have enough options for relaxation.
- Mess is too much good. It provides us nice food and different vegetation

- I don't like the position of campus as it is too away from city area
- I don't like that there are only two mess which causes us delay

I took Jee examination where according to my rank I got civil or material engineering at IIT Gandhinagar which counselling was done by Joosa counselling I don't like that they took 40000 as a reserve seat

- Beautiful infrastructure including hostels, academic area or sport complex. Everything well maintained, organized.
- Liberal campus. People allowed to enter opposite gender's hostels freely
Dislikes
- Difficult to get student funds for cultural fests and activities
- Location of campus is quite off and far from city
Admission:
Students to get admission at IITGN will have to clear JEE advanced with a decent rank. They first have to clear JEE mains in order to get selected for advanced. For admission process students first go through jossa counselling rounds and they get the offer letter from the college they get selected in the final round and then they go through the registration process.

Admission:
Anybody with a bachelor's degree can apply. Three steps are there, application form, written exam and interview. Reservation norms apply. Interviews are mostly conducted in the campus. Exam difficulty is moderate

- Some humanity courses are mandatory which don't seems much helpful.
- In first year we to study the courses of all the branches which don't related to our domain.

The entrance exam is JEE Advance; for the general category, the opening is around AIR 1100, it varies according to branches and category. After qualifying JEE Advance, through JOSAA counselling, we can get admission.

What is the process to get admission into IIT Gandhinagar to study in cognitive science?
For the MSc. Cognitive Science program at IIT Gandhinagar, there are two selection rounds, a written test, and a panel interview. The application process starts from the 2nd week of January and based on your application (SOP and Academics), you are called to take a written test in the last week of February.
The written test is the same for everyone. It contains 4 comprehensive-type questions and 1 question on Data Interpretation. The paper is of 25 marks and one-hour duration.
During the interview, a panel of three individuals asks questions based on your branch. For example, if you studied B.Tech Biotechnology, you will be asked questions on it. Some questions are asked from basic Neuroscience and others are asked from the subjects that you studied during your UG.
You will also be asked about your purpose for pursuing this course. This is an important question that will increase your chances of getting selected among students from various educational backgrounds.
The selection rate for the course is very slim, around 3.3%. Usually, your GATE/NET scores are not considered and your academic record, written test performance, and interview performance are taken into consideration for selection into the MSc. Cognitive Science program offered at IIT Gandhinagar.
I would suggest you practice comprehensive-type questions and go through your application properly. Prepare well and you will surely get selected for this course at IIT Gandhinagar.
How can I get admission in IIT Gandhinagar?
For B.Tech, you need to appear in IIT JEE and score a valid rank. If you are willing to take admission in M.Tech, a valid score in GATE is required.
- After the submission of the application, a list of the shortlisted candidates will be posted on the college’s website.
- If you are shortlisted, you will have to be present at the Campus on the date mentioned in the notice.
- You will first have to appear for an Aptitude Test which consists of English, Maths, and Basic Core questions. The results for this test are declared in an hour or two.
- If you are shortlisted after the Aptitude Test, you will have to attend a personal interview. This is considered the final round.
- If you are selected for the interview, you will be welcomed to the college’s MTech course. Sometimes questions based on Maths, Matrices, Differential Equations, etc. could be asked in the interview.
This is because the college is more into CFD and analysis of materials where one needs to have a good hold in the Finite Element Analysis.

No, IIT JAM is not required for the MA admission. Admission to the two years MA course is based on the entrance tests and interviews. The final call is made by the institute depending on the written test and interview based on their past academic record and aptitude for graduate study in humanities & social sciences.
IIT Gandhinagar has not mentioned the exact information on the total intake for the MA course. You can either visit the official website of the institute.
