My education experience at IIT gandhinagar

The course curriculum is well designed. It consists of weekly/monthly assignments and lab practicals to help you understand the things effectively. There are several teaching assistants (seniors) assigned by professors to help you out as the difficulty level of assignments can be higher in some courses.

You have to look for the companies for intership by yourself. Or you can choose a short new research project to work upon on your last semester and you can even publish your work in some good journals. Also you can learn a new software to enhance your profile.

The year wise fees for masters program is 1,16,000. It covers all the tution fees, registration hostel fees, mess fees and other charges. Apart from this, there is summer and winter semester of two months each where you have to pay seperate hostel and mess fees. The scholarship for masters is 12,400 per month for every student irrespective of their field of study.

There is one major sports event named Hallabol in which several sports were played. There is Inter-IIT's competition of several indoor and outdoor games in which you can participate. The infrastructure of the college is very good. There are newly built sports complex with swimming pool, AC hostel rooms and advanced equipment laboratories.

The hostel rooms are equipped with all the furniture along with AC. You will get a double sharing room for bachelor's course and single room for masters and above. The location of college is outside the city, so getting a rented room nearby is difficult. However, you can easily get the hostel accomodation. There are four times of meals provided in the mess. The quality of food is very good specially the breakfast menu consists of milk/tea, bread jam/butter, boiled eggs/omelette, fruits and one main item such as poha, paratha etc.

Getting admission into this college is slightly difficuly due to high score in GATE exam. However, there is one different criteria of selection, i.e. top 5 students of some good ranking colleges and NIT are directly called for an interview and no GATE score is required. So, I prefer this college due to good rankings and better quality of education.

All the faculty members are highly qualified. The faculty to student ratio is also decent. The exam pattern consist of mid term and final examination. Apart from that, weightage is also given to weekly assignments or projects.
