Life in IITGN

The college is more known for its research based institution and the curiosity to know everything makes me more inclined to being a research scholars in physics with experimenting. Through this curriculum you can become as scientist, go in teaching line in institutes and coaching industries and quality checker in few industries.

I haven't applied for campus placements as I am planning for PhD so didn't have much idea about placements. but out of the total percentage of student 60% of the students are getting placed. It also provide fellowship for 1 year , conference, reasearch, student exchange in abroad funded by the institutes and depend on your department professor. Health care facilities and educational loan can be prevail from institute.

The placement cell of our campus is very active with proving prior practise session and meetings. It goes on two phase ,one in semester 1 and another in semester 2. The ratio of Btech getting placed is higher than other departments.

The fee structure is uniform for each semester we paid 46588/- which includes all hostel, mess, laundry and management, with waiver of tution fees of 10000/-. Normally the fees is 56588/- per semester for general category.

The campus leads an freedom experience with no restriction and 24 hours accessible labs and librabrary with sports complex. It makes a complete world of academics with enjoyment and relaxation time with booking classes for studies or movies night, it ensure more on leading and learning , managing your own schedule. you will never feel scared to roam around campus till 3 am at night its full with security and night owls students indulge in their talks, studies and having tea and food from few shops that are open at campus till 3 or 5 am, specially during exam time. The hostel facility is very good as compared to other institute for first year you need to share your room with roomates but from next year you are provided with your single personal room. each room has bed with mattress, fan, tables chair, night lamp, cupboards,shelves and AC. The campus have common mess there are three mess which is being allocated to you every semester as per your reference form. The mess food id great with every month there is change in menu and try to include all the dishes from all parts of country so that you do not feel left out.

For getting masters into IITs institute we need to qualify IIT JAM exams and according to your rank counselling take and provide you a particular college , so thats how I got into IITGn and seach its rank among IITs , it was 13 at that time 2023. and its more reasearch inclinded institute with lots of Instruments facilitation than all IITs.

The faculty to student ratio is high in IITGn with 5:3. The relation is very friendly with the faculty with help to advise and all the time being approachable but except few being exception. The professor i liked the most are Prof. Rupak Banerjee, Prof Chandan K Mishra, Prof. Gopinadhan Kalon and Krista R Khiagnte for their friendly nature and understanding the concepts clear from basics root revision. The course stucture for each course is different depend on the professors , how they design dividing the grades with assignment, ppt, quizes, attendance but along with that there are two exams held per semester mid sem and end sem exam. and their weightage carrying in overall grade is also flexible on the professor.

The campus is filled with wildlife creaturees porcupines, wild rabbit, nilgai, dear , peacock, langoor roaming around the campus with sabarmati river just attacged to campus. The night experience in campus is very lively as most of the studets are night owls struggling with assignments , gossips hanving tea ,food from cafeteria in campus acces till 3 am and sometime exceeds during examination. The sports complex with almost all indoor and outdoor games with swimming pool is accesible till 10:00 pm. There is no curfew time in hostel or campus entry gate with no restriction in inter hostel mobility of boys and girls.
