Course Curriculum Overview

4

As I am Btech student, the curriculum is pretty similar to that of all IIT's, so I am in computer science discipline, So as you know I was interested to explore in the field of AI, so I have to obviously choose computer science and curriculum really has some group projects and hands on projects and also some industrial projects which will help us for real world applications. Improvements can be considered where they can build a competitive spirit, because in college it's very hard to be motivated everytime, sometime we zone out for few days doing nothing so I think that can be improved...The frequency of exams is quite hectic I must say, and the difficulty varies depending on the exams , so I can't really comment about it, but as IIT's have this continuous evaluation, we almost have quizzes and exams every week

Internships Opportunities

4

There are all kind of roles and many companies, I am not sure about the all names, because I am still in my 4th semester, but a good number of companies do come. One other advantage is to take a project, we are free to take any project regardless of our discipline, and that's great to be honest

Placement Experience

3

From 7th semester they are eligible for the placements, I am still in my second year so I am not sure about all the companies and their offers, I ll list a few like Barclays, atlassian, HDFC, Google, etc I think highest package this year is 85 Lakhs, and average package is maybe around 20 Lakhs. They won't be sharing the percentage of students getting placed so I don't know about it. My plan is to get placed in the college itself

Fees and Financial Aid

From the time I came I didn't really find any tution fee hikes, I got to know that it hikes few before I joined, and there was a bit uprising from students too who opposed it, but yeah it didn't work. The complete cost of education including tution hostel and all other is 1,46,000 per semester,..My institution also provides tution fee waiver for econinally weak students. There are so many scholarships available like Reliance scholarship, FFE, Yuva Unstoppable, and there are alot of donor scholarships too, they help you out if you have a genuine economic problem. I am still in my second year so I didn't really have any employment

Campus Life

2.5

Atleast in my college the college life isn't really great compared to other peer institutes, the fests held are Amalthea, Blithchron and they will be help in Nov, March. But they aren't that lively because of less strength of our campus. I must say there are a wide range of books available, we can even get books on our request too, my library is really good and wide. The technological provisions with classroom all are the high-end, and we are provided with the best facilities. All our clubs are student run, that's one of the speciality of our campus, but I don't think they have a impact on our college life, I think it takes a few more years, for them to have a impact

Hostel Facilities

4.5

We are provided with AC and cupboards and study table and chair and all study lamps, I just say Our hostel has the best facility, even the house keeping staff clean our room and hostels regularly and keep our hostel clean. Coming to mess food, quality, I must say that quality is high class, we have also been awarded for the five star quality for the message because it's very hygiene, but the message menu is not interesting all the days, somedays it may not be your liking. Everyone who live in hostel must take the hostel room itself they can't be taking a rented room, staying in IIT's hostel room is a must

Admission

I have joined an IIT, so my process of admission is through JoSAA councelling itself, so eligibility would be have atleast 75% in MPC subjects in your boards to give JEE advanced examination, and about the application details you can find in the JoSAA website itself by finding the college you are interested in, And of course JEE advanced is the toughest exam, it happens after the two mains examinations, well I felt there could be improvement, if they started the college after a week of councelling or two weeks of councelling, because if they start right after counseling, for people who are waiting till round 6 of councelling, it's really difficult for them to reach campus, due to this, I had to freeze my choice in round 5, because of which I missed the college I wanted

Other Applied Colleges

BITS Pilani (Pilani Campus) | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] {Hons.} (Computer Science Engineering)

I have really thought alot whether to choose bits over iit or not, but at the end due to family pressure I had to choose iit for the tag atleast

I am in my 7th semester and I was asked to apply. After beging rejected from two I was still provided the opportunity and in 4th attempt I finally made it. Likewise every student is provided ample chances and mostly in penultimate semester around 70% students are placed. Rest all get one final chance in the massive placements activity in the final semester.

I am of ece branch and i believe the faculty of ece is fab. They are experienced and mojority of them have good skills of teaching. They will prepares us good for real world app as they are exprienced. Talking about the frequency and timing kind of after 2 months we have are mid semester then after 2 or 3 months we have our end semesters. Before these each these examinations we have are small quizzes of 10 marks and these are conducted 2 weeks before these big exams. Difficulty of exam depends on the subject it is. Say it is maths and physics you can assume it to be at a good level but some subjects are easy also and their exam level is kind of moderate.

The on campus placement is pretty good as compared to different colleges because the students getting place are comparatively higher on campus placements are also possible through this college but it's students generally of for the on campus placements and through the 7th semester you get placed in a company the company is visiting here are higher and lot of companies show interest in students but at times the placement cell looks very dull and percentage of students getting placements are comparatively higher than the other colleges and if anybody wants to up for higher studies then there is an option
