What Students Say
Likes
- The mess food was good when compared to other 2nd generation IITS and 3rd generation IITS according to my knowledge.
- The sports complex is at international level standards.
- The professors are very kind and they are teaching very well, as I have before coming to the college
Dislikes
- The compulsory PE is annoying as hell, especially on the tougher semesters
- Hindi is predominantly used inside the campus so students who has difficulty with Hindi would kinda suffer
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is kind of the same in all IITs so I don't think it a matter of doubt. But the effectiveness is rather a question of interest as we are made to study common concepts like physics, chemistry and mathematics in our first year of study which is not what one expects after clearing JEE advanced. The difficulty of the examination depends on the proffs who sets the question paper, but on an average it is difficult. We follow two exam policy which comprises of mid-semester and end-semester exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
Financial assistance is available for those who need it. Scholarship are also awarded based on family income and proficiency. There are a lot of campus employment opportunities like PAL mentor (peer assisted learning) and ADH mentor (academic discussion hour mentor) the stipend for which is paid on hourly basis (150 per hour).
Campus Life
We have Blithcron which is the annual cultural fest at IITGN and we have Amalthea the annual technical fest at IITGN. The library at IITGN provides the students with access to a lot of reading and listening materials. We have projectors in every classroom. There are many student run clubs and fests at IITGN.
Admission
The admission process was conducted by JOSA. The application process is quite simple you just pay for the counselling and secure a decent enough rank in Jee advanced and you'll be allotted college and branch according to your rank and filled preferences.
