Chemical Engineering has a broad scope outside India but is yet to make its mark here. The field is not developed here yet, the demand is low and so is the pay. To ensure the maximum utilization of the benefits of this field, we need qualified professionals. Infrastructure: IIT Gandhinagar is well known for its infrastructure and facilities. The new hostel has excellent accommodation facilities with 90 Mbps speed wifi. The food served in the mess is decent and there are also 4 canteens that have got a 5-star rating from FSSAI. Students are provided with 24/7 medical facilities. Faculty: Sparing a few assistant professors, the faculty is mostly dedicated, passionate, and very learned. They provided constant assistance to the students. Course: All the courses have the same syllabus in the first year. The semester exams are no joke and can be quite challenging at times. You will get some free time post classes so prepare well and get a good CPI. The institute follows a relative grading system so the passing marks vary from teacher to teacher. Placements: Out of 27 registered students this year, 16 got placed bringing the placement percentage to 52.26%. IIT Gandhinagar's average package of Chemical Engineering stood at INR 14.82 LPA while the median package stood at INR 14 LPA. IIT Gandhinagar, one of the best second generation IITs in India.

Dislikes

Too much focus on courses and academic load is too high which sometimes is too much for students to get into other things.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fee structure for one semester is as below: Tuition fee: Rs. 100000 Other Allied charges: Rs. 8388 Hostel Rent: Rs. 17250 Mess and Laundry fee: Rs. 21000 Apart from this there is a one time admission fee and refundable security deposit of Rs 11500 at the beginning of first semester.

I liked the faculty members and the course curriculum

HSS courses are too many which every student don't like very much

The semester fee is rupees INR146588. Also there are scholarships which will grant for SCST and Economically weaker sections in which there family income is less than 1.5 lakh. Also there would be interview for this. So for these people, they won't have any tuition fee. Also employment opportunities also are very quite good.

The tuition fee increase policy is not as much in IITGN and it is the same for the past three years, since I have not noticed such a spike because this is an Government Institution the reason for hike in the near future will be because of the facilitites provided by the institution to the students. The complete cost of BTech at IITGN is around Rs 13 lakh which involves Rs 1 lakh per semester for tuition fee, one time service fee of Rs 5000, and other compulsory charges of around Rs 46588 per semester which includes laundry, mess and hostel accomodation. The students who has parental income less than Rs 5 lakh per annum are awarded Tuition fee waiver and other scholarships which includes the alumini and reliance scholarship. Currently I have not been employed at campus, but I have been a part of the inter iit organising team and for that i had a POR.

What you want to know before applying for IIT Gandhinagar

The curriculum aspects where the majority of students get low marks but is ignored by professors

Each semester the total fee sums to approx 1,47,000 which includes 1lakh tuition fees and the rest include hostel accommodation and mess and laundry facilities with some other charges. There are numerous scholarships provided by institute to the students having poor economic background as well as on the criteria of category. SC/ST students get free tuition waiver. Other Students having annual income less than 7 lacks have numerous benefits in terms of scholarships and educational financial aids.

Ultimate Guide to IIT Gandhinagar

Tuition Fee is 1,00,000 per semester and seems to be constant till now. The complete cost of education is 1,50,000 per semester which includes Hostel and Mess Fees which are compulsory. Reservation scholarships and other institutional-funded scholarships are available for students. Also, academic excellence awards are there. Campus employment and some job roles are also available.

liberty for student who can choose any courses

If you are ST/SC student then your tution fee will be get wavied fee 100% and if you parental income is less than 2.5lac then you will get 100% tution fee wavier and in between 25.lac to 5lac you will get 2/3rd fee wavier. And campus also provide soft loan so if any student who cant be able to pay fee so he/she can take soft loan to pay it and you have to returned it on given deadline without any interest. they are many scholarship also the give like PM Yojna for student who are udergraduating.

Fee Structure And Facilities:

140000 per semester. But it changes for different categories SC,ST,OBC and PWD get good benefits. Also the are so many different scholarship programs to help students financially. Campus placement is organized average performing students easily get enough opportunities.

IITGN

Fees have risen for the last two years. It is around 1.25 lacs per semester including the mess fees. There you will find many scholarship programs and they differ in each branch.
