  • Too many Indians it is very crowded with Indians no On-campus jobs nothing, very costly city in bad market the meaning of this college is nothing, this college is good only in the good market because of coop program. null

Overview

I chose this university as their Internship program known as COOP was the most important factor and their ranking, also having good support for COOP will help me in searching for a full-time job. The College is not that great if you want a stable start as there is no on-campus job that you can get easily, everyone is Indian so no foreign exposure. Every Indian has their setting there so that's the only reason they have some on-campus job. Fees are high, too many issues in college administration. But one good thing is the coop search experience you have there you will grind very hard to get an internship which will make you job ready and they have good support for the intern but don't come with high hopes here as even the city is costly.

Fees

68000 USD for 2 years of master's including the medical insurance.

  • The university is great. The students feel exactly like home with the culture shared. null

Overview

I chose this college because of their co-op program, the perfect location as Boston which is the healthcare hub. It has been amazing so far. As overwhelming as it is, I believe it's worth it.

Overview

The university is in proper Boston City, with a strong Co-op/ Internship program. A decent college situated right in Boston city. Not a primary choice but a safe bet and will provide you with most of the facilities. The campus is very lively, with ample places to sit, work, and focus. The master's program (engineering/ CS major) has a large number of international students - mostly South Asians (around 75%). Courses are decent, too, with moderate difficulty. Scoring good grades is not at all difficult. Very less on-campus opportunities a few handful of dining jobs for students. Fees and Living expenses - rent and food would be on the higher side since the city is expensive overall.

Fees

Overall it will go till $60,000 including health insurance, miscellaneous fees etc.

Dislikes:

  • Too many Indians international exposure is almost negligible. null
  • Little to no campus opportunities for most of the students. null
  • No flexibility in the coop program you need to follow there timelines. null

Overview

The admission process was quite simple for northeastern. I filled an online application. The application required your bachelor transcript, SOP, recommendation from 2 people and your English proficiency test results. They had rolling admits so it took around 1 month for me to get an admit from them. Then to confirm my seat I had to do a initial deposit for a couple of hundred dollars. I did not go by any consultants I researched about it on the internet.

Fees

The program is a bit expensive but I was lucky enough to get an on campus job as well as a coop so the on campus job helped me to fund my rent and daily upkeeps and when I got coop I was able to save for 2 semester as well as provide for my expenses. Hence my cost of the program came down drastically the rest was supported by my father through a loan because I didn't want my father to burn down his saving and I also didn't wanted to do the same hence took a loan. So I have a loan of $30k and the total expense that I had incurred would be around $52k Tuition fees and $20k as my living expenses.

Overview

I chose this university because of Co-op program, Study Abroad opportunity in top school that is top 100 in the world, campus in city, one of the best business schools, accepts all AP credits. Great experience overall from study abroad experience to co-op system, networking opportunities, industry preparedness, and great overall campus life.

Dislikes:

  • The tution fee is bit expensive compared to the other universities but if scholarships are provided it can be good .

Overview

I didn't like the curriculum and the master's was only for 1 year. I was looking for a 2-year master's as I have completed my graduation in 3 years I want to pursue a 2-year master's to get a better understanding of my major.

Fees

For me it was not affordable as the total tution fee was 50000 us dollars but after some good scholarship it can be affordable if your profile is good you can opt for scholarships and if you have experience you can work as teaching assistant

Overview

SoP submitted. 3 lor submitted: 1. Hod, 2. Professor 3. Research paper professor I choose this University when software engineering tech job market was good and hiring of new grad was great. Currently its worst and nobody is hiring new grad students. I have mixed feelings for starters there are no on campus jobs on campus jobs is very hard to find here lots of Indian students and international students are trying to apply for on campus jobs and there are very less on campus jobs. as you don't have on campus job it becomes expensive and Boston itself is very expensive with skyrocketing rents and living expenses. On the other hand the university is good infrastructure good professors with deep knowledge and Boston is also a good place for finding jobs as it is hub for software and biotechnological companies lots of companies hire Northeastern students

  • The main thing that I really didn't like about university is the weather, that's cold in boston and in winters there all around the snow, that occurs the problems in travelling in early morning to go campus. null

Overview

The University is private, and their academic curiculum easier. They have good placement and CO-Op options to work in high-techs, The size of campus is pretty large, the faculty and staff is helpful. This University comes in top fifty ranking universities in USA. This is best university for techincal Education, or Stem programs.

Dislikes:

  • I wish there were more diverse course options, and some classes focus on outdated technology. The recent increase in admissions has led to a larger, more competitive crowd, impacting the overall experience. null

Overview

My experience has been great. The university fosters inclusivity with numerous Indian clubs and events. While the overall curriculum was good, I expected more in terms of the technology taught and course selections. The campus life and supportive community have made my journey amazing.

Ques. How’s financial aid for international students at Northeastern University?

● Top Answer By Rahul Desai on 03 Feb 21

Ans. You should try to learn about the financial aid for undergraduate as well as graduate students as both of these have different types of grants, scholarships and requirements. Since international students are unable to qualify for US federal loans, they have to pay up more but they can ease off their burden by doing part time work by making some money.  Students placed in the top 10%-15% of Northeastern University’s pool are given preference for competitive merit awards which is between $10000 and $25000. As an international, you wont have many funding opportunities. You can get financial relief through mostly these: As a University Scholar Need-based scholarships based on expected family contribution External Scholarships Merit and Talent based scholarships If you enter as a university scholar, then you can get your entire tuition waived and you only have to incur costs on room, board and other personal expenses. For this, you should have an outstanding academic record in order to be selected. Ofcourse, this will be another challenge to be their top candidate in order to enter the college as a university scholar. If your expected family contribution(EPF) is less than the actual tuition fees, then you may be awarded a scholarship or a grant which will help him cover up the remaining tuition. However, the EPF amount is low and there is no guarantee that the rest of your fees will be covered. You can get $5k- $15k in grant award for tuition. As an International student, you may find it difficult to avail scholarships unless you have an excellent SAT/ACT score with an impressive extracurricular profile. You should work hard on making a good profile to stand a chance to win these scholarships. Students with good extracurricular activities get recommendations and get their fees waived off or whatever scholarships they have won. You should contact the college regarding this in order to have better insights and options.Read more

Ques. Which university is better, university of Colorado, Boulder or Northeastern University?

● Top Answer By Evan Mehta on 03 Feb 21

Ans. Everyone has different criteria and experiences and if you ask me, Northeastern was not that great an experience because it was a private school and for me money was an important factor. If you consider their rankings, it is obviously better ranked than University of Colorado which ranks at 103rd place while NEU ranks at 49th place in the national universities. Northeastern University Northeastern University offers rigorous academic learning and continuous opportunities for the students. It received 62,000 applications to fill out mere 2800 seats during 2018 and 2019 which means you’ll find a lot of competition here. It also has a great reputation as an innovative experiential university and it also has a co-op program. You’ll gain a lot of theoretical knowledge as well as practical experience here. It has abundant resources you can utilize. University of Colorado  You can definitely consider this because of easier admissions- it has an acceptance rate of 78% and an early acceptance rate of 94.7%. You’ll also have 43.8% of its classes with less than 20 students. It also offers need based financial aid to 33% of its undergraduate students and the scholarship or grant award ranges from 3000-15,000 USD. Here’s a quick comparison of both universities: However, that may not really help you in making this decision alone. To choose a college, you will really have to dig up information related to your classes of interest, what experience you are looking for, or which college has a better scope for you to land a high paying job in return of your money. You should decide after evaluating different options and choose the college that is going to help you deliver the result you want to achieve.Read more
