  • A lot of events and campus clubs available, very diverse and inclusive. The research is one of the top in the country but with limited availability.
  • There are more than 3 libraries and they are huge in size, some open for 24 hours. The gym is among top school gyms of the US, with a lot of sports facilities.

Fees

  • 1,200$ per credit, with 30 credits it is 36,000 USD - just for tuition fees. With International fees, health insurance & tax would be 600 to 2000$ extra per semester.

  • UW Madison is the main one; there is UW Milwaukee, UW Eau Claire, etc.
  • There are various top-class libraries and lecture halls, gyms, tennis halls, football grounds and stadiums and swimming pools indoors.
  • There are concerts like Coldplay happening next year, events like Diwali from the Indian Student Association, and football (rugby) games between state colleges.
  • There are lots of extracurriculars one can get involved in as a student; get coaching as well.

Fees

  • For my 4 year undergraduate course, the fee structure is breakdown as follows-
  • $21,000 per semester so total = $168,000 for full course.
  • You can pay per semester in 1 go or broken down in 3 parts over course of 3 months.
  • For first year, living in dorm is compulsory and mess dining hall usage, so cost for that is around $9000.
  • Monthly expenses include groceries, food, electricity bill etc and are around $300-$500.
  • Bus is free for students so they get a pass, so no travel charges.
  • Rent is around $1000-1500 per month for single bedroom, less if shared.

  • I could not tell you how many campuses were there, since private buildings were converted into university buildings all the time. The most astonishing thing to me was these buildings were not barricaded or secured in any way, essentially one could walk into a building at any moment.

  • There were 2 gyms that included everything, even basketball, badminton courts and even swimming pools. Medical services are very good, I can attest first hand since I suffered an allergy attack from shrimp. Medical services and police are coordinated with the city police. There are several libraries, student organizations, too many to name here. Clubs exist for everything even cricket which was started by friends and I.

Fees

  • A full breakdown can be found at the tuition and bursar page for UW Madison.
  • For an average semester (4 month), it came down to for tuition, $4K for housing $2K for food and other things: books, access to various apps and online material, some medical stuff and unforeseen expenses.
  • Transportation was included in tuition, and a bus card was given.

Overview

I chose this university because of following factors- 1. Funding in the form of a TA position 2. Opportunity to delve into an exciting field of research (AI in smart manufacturing) 3. One of the top 150 universities in the world. Overall, it is challenging at times, it was an invigorating and rewarding experience and equipped me with a diverse set of skills from AI to biomechanics.

While I wasn't very active in campus activities, there was no dearth of relevant campus events. However, most of them seemed to be catered towards undergraduate students.

Overview

3 LORS AND SoP were required. Skillsets directly related to field of study and reason for (if applicable) shift in field of study No I didn’t have any round of interviews. The best college out of current choices with a great program for my area The perfect college experience except for the weather which is very violent. We experience temperatures as low as -20. The crowd is good as the town is a university town and so we’re always surrounded by the people of same age group. Uni definitely has a party town reputation but it’s the best of both worlds. Connecting with people is slightly hard due to very undiluted crowds and still some racism

As compared to other colleges the Indian diaspora is very low which is good and bad. A lot of extra curriculars. Student support is provided in terms of free (limited) groceries provided every Thursday, free food is not hard to find.

Campus infrastructure is very good. Each department/school has clubs and organizations that hold meetings/game nights/social events to get to know each other and have fun. In addition, there’s also a lot of academic related events conducted by each professor.

Campus life is absolutely amazing with so many things to do on campus like club activities, international student events, technical events, and so on. There are two incredible recreational centers inside campus equipped with courts, swimming pools and multi-floor gyms. Inside the campus, UWNet is a free Wifi that is provided which is very quick and the signal is great throughout the campus!

Unfortunately, the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW-Madison) doesn't have a specific percentage requirement for admission to their Psychology program. However, you can explore the UW-Madison courses to learn more about the curriculum, fees, and other details.
