Overview

3 LORS AND SoP were required. Skillsets directly related to field of study and reason for (if applicable) shift in field of study No I didn’t have any round of interviews. The best college out of current choices with a great program for my area The perfect college experience except for the weather which is very violent. We experience temperatures as low as -20. The crowd is good as the town is a university town and so we’re always surrounded by the people of same age group. Uni definitely has a party town reputation but it’s the best of both worlds. Connecting with people is slightly hard due to very undiluted crowds and still some racism

  • While there are numerous aspects I adore about the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I must acknowledge a few challenges that have impacted my experience. One notable factor is the weather, particularly during the winters. The extreme cold temperatures can be quite daunting, and the shorter days with early sunsets sometimes give a feeling of melancholy. The university occasionally closes early due to inclement weather, which can disrupt schedules and affect productivity. Nevertheless, it's an opportunity to embrace the beauty of winter and indulge in cozy campus activities like hot cocoa gatherings or winter festivals. null
  • Another aspect that can pose difficulties is the course enrollment process. Being a public university, there is high demand for popular classes, and they tend to fill up quickly. This can occasionally result in challenges in securing all the desired courses, which may require careful planning and flexibility to create an optimal degree plan. However, the university's academic advisors and support services are available to assist in navigating these situations and finding alternative solutions. null
  • Additionally, the cost of living in Madison, including rental prices, can be quite high. This financial aspect can create some struggles for students, including myself, at times. However, it's important to note that the university offers various resources such as financial aid, scholarships, and part-time job opportunities to help alleviate these challenges. Exploring cost-saving measures, such as shared housing or seeking affordable off-campus options, can also contribute to managing expenses effectively. null

Beyond the classroom, I have grown tremendously as an individual. Moving to a new country and navigating the challenges of living independently has allowed me to develop resilience, adaptability, and self-reliance. The university's diverse community has provided a supportive and inclusive environment that has made the transition smoother, and I have formed meaningful connections with fellow students from all walks of life. One aspect I particularly treasure is the friendships I have forged. The university fosters a sense of camaraderie, and I have met incredible individuals who share my interests and passions. Collaborating on projects, engaging in stimulating discussions, and simply enjoying each other's company has enriched my experience and made my time at the university truly memorable. Moreover, I have had the opportunity to immerse myself in my passions. Whether it's participating in student organizations, joining clubs, or attending cultural events, the university offers a myriad of opportunities to pursue my interests. This has not only allowed me to engage in activities I am passionate about but has also broadened my perspective by exposing me to different cultures, traditions, and viewpoints.
