Dislikes:

  • I hate the location as there is nothing to do apart from the campus life as Madison is a very small city. The winters in Madison are brutal and being from a city where it never snows it is tough to manage. null

I am a freshmen so there hasn't been much industrial exposure yet but the course syllabus is pretty updated.

  • While there are numerous aspects I adore about the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I must acknowledge a few challenges that have impacted my experience. One notable factor is the weather, particularly during the winters. The extreme cold temperatures can be quite daunting, and the shorter days with early sunsets sometimes give a feeling of melancholy. The university occasionally closes early due to inclement weather, which can disrupt schedules and affect productivity. Nevertheless, it's an opportunity to embrace the beauty of winter and indulge in cozy campus activities like hot cocoa gatherings or winter festivals. null
  • Another aspect that can pose difficulties is the course enrollment process. Being a public university, there is high demand for popular classes, and they tend to fill up quickly. This can occasionally result in challenges in securing all the desired courses, which may require careful planning and flexibility to create an optimal degree plan. However, the university's academic advisors and support services are available to assist in navigating these situations and finding alternative solutions. null
  • Additionally, the cost of living in Madison, including rental prices, can be quite high. This financial aspect can create some struggles for students, including myself, at times. However, it's important to note that the university offers various resources such as financial aid, scholarships, and part-time job opportunities to help alleviate these challenges. Exploring cost-saving measures, such as shared housing or seeking affordable off-campus options, can also contribute to managing expenses effectively. null

The syllabus is good and well researched and the classes are made in such a way that one class compliments the other class and I say this because any class you take will have some knowledge from the previous class you took which will surely help you build up your base , for CS they have good structured classes with CS 200 that teaches you the basics of java then CS 300 that uses the basics to build on object oriented programming then CS 400 where real world scenarios are tested and then the specialization classes after you have a basic idea of the classes you have already taken , they also give research opportunities that helps a lot in learning and understanding stuff under the CS department which is generally paid and also get credit for the same.

the course initially seems very difficult but can be done. In this University they have a criteria of doing a language course, a human science course, and ethics course which helps student think outside the box and also pursue your own interests. The main idea for the university depends mainly on independent work until and unless they ask you to interact and work as a team.

The university is very highly ranked and has over 99% placement, Also it has always been my dream to study in the US and I worked really for it. I think I made the right decision about the University. Also they have a very supporting staff, very helpful when in times of need

The course curriculum is very up to date with how much we need in today's world of computer sciences to be able to succeed in the field with enough knowledge about the concepts thoroughly.
