Here’s what students say about their experience at the Stevens Institute of Technology:

Reeti Nanda – M.S Information Systems (2024) says “Stevens responds quickly to student queries and has a clean, spacious campus with convenient shuttle services. However, administrative processes are slow, parking is problematic, and registering for popular classes can be challenging. Graduate students must find their own housing, often through WhatsApp or Facebook groups. Rent typically ranges from $500-$800 monthly, though quality varies greatly, so caution is advised.”

Ratings:

Academic: 10/10 | Faculty: 10/10 | Infrastructure: 10/10 | Accommodation: 6/10 | Placement: 8/10

Riya – M.S Finance (2023) says “The scenic, riverside campus and proximity to NYC make Stevens attractive. However, academic quality varies—some professors don’t teach effectively. Placement support from the student success center is limited. Finding housing online was difficult, with rents averaging around $700/month excluding utilities. Living near campus is common among Indian students.”

Ratings:

Academic: 6/10 | Faculty: 8/10 | Infrastructure: 10/10 | Accommodation: 6/10 | Placement: 4/10

Ashik Sali – M.S Information Systems (2024)

Stevens' location offers excellent views of Manhattan and easy NYC access. Professors are supportive, and frequent small events create a good graduate community. Downsides include limited diversity and late-night classes. Housing is expensive ($2300-$3000/month shared among roommates), with added utilities, typically found through WhatsApp groups in nearby Jersey City Heights.

Ratings:

Academic: 6/10 | Faculty: 6/10 | Infrastructure: 8/10 | Accommodation: 6/10 | Placement: 6/10

  • There is one main campus (it's a pretty small college). We have a library, 2 gyms, a swimming pool, a soccer/lacrosse field and 3 basketball courts along with other sport facilities. There are a lot of clubs that you can join and each of the clubs looks to host 2-3 events per year so there are definitely things to attend if you know where to look.

Overview

I submitted SOP and LOR . Mentioned about my passion towards computer science and my overall goal to accomplish my future targets. I did not have any rounds and was directly selected for a dean's excellence scholarship for my profile. The main reason to choose this university is for its easily customizable courses. I would simply recommend my university to everyone who is willing to study any computer based courses . It's really great here and i love everything about my university.
