- The curriculum is very industry oriented which help in getting jobs
- The intake has very quality students which helps a lot in professional development
- Infrastructure is top-notch with a very big library
Dislikes
- I don't like that subjects can be selected according to random slotting which gets many students at disadvantage for some of the popular courses
Campus Life
- Campus life is amazing; it's a really big campus (3000 sq meters) with a 5-floor independent library building and easy to get on-campus jobs
Fees
- USD 18000/semester and around 700 for living expenses
Likes
- The NCSU Hunt Library is AMAZING! Top notch architecture and everything students need for studying. They also give ipads and other devices to work if we need them free of charge.
- The availability of on-campus jobs is very high. Most students are able to secure one to support their finances.
- The special topics offered in the MCS course are very good. these usually have a small number of students so focused attention is given. since the prof. knows all the students in these special topic classes, we can build a good relationship with them and get offered TA positions through that.
Dislikes
- The bus network is good but sometimes buses are late or overpacked. Also a lot of time is wasted in waiting for the buses and usally commute to classes and part time job takes around an hour daily.
- The career fairs held by NCSU are seldom helpful. they are packed with thousands of students and very few companies. very few of my friends have secured an internship or job offer through these fairs. many companies that come there only hire US citizens and some come there even if they are not hiring currently. usually only a few companies get all the attention so there are thousands of students in the queue for them and there is no personal connection built with the recruiters. wait times in line are almost 2 hrs for each company.
- It is in raleigh and raleigh being a small town, there are pretty limited fun activities to do outside of the ncsu campus
Campus Life
- Main campus, centennial campus, north campus (the rest I don't know; available online)
- 2 libraries, AMAZING gym, health center, cafes, legal services office, mental health support.
- GSA Social, Midnight howl run, Maitri indian student association, masquerade ball, diwali celebrations. Many sports clubs are available: boating, fencing, martial arts, boxing, etc. kayaks and camping gear are also available for rent.
Fees
- It depends on credits. each course is 3 credits (except for the orientation course, which is 1 credit). i have taken 10 credits for the first semester, 9 credits for the second, 9 for the third and 3 credits for the last semester. That means 3 courses plus a compulsory orientation course for the first semester, 3 courses for the second semester, 3 courses for the third semester, and 1 course for the last semester. this is billed as such: https://studentservices.ncsu.edu/finances/tuition-and-fees/tuition-and-fee-rates/graduate-students/ so for me it was 21,266.25 USD for the first three semesters and 7,088.76 USD for the last semester, according to the credits I took (note credits == hours).
- Health insurance cost is on top of tuition fees, which i dont remember exactly right now. but you can buy a cheaper health insurance from india and use that to waive that fee (which is what i did)
- Semester-wise: $900 a month: $625 rent (private room + private bath), $150 utilities (electricity, water, Wi-Fi, phone bill, etc.) + $125 groceries (cheaper for me since I get free food at the place I work part-time on campus).

Campus Life
- Campus is beautiful with lots of clubs and extracurricular activities. World-class gym and library.
- Outdoor activities like kayaking , trekking etc are conducted by clubs.
Fees
- $2000 for 1 credit and it is uisually 30 - 33 credits for the degree.
Likes
- Located in a college town more or less. Resources to buy groceries are nearby but if you want something specific you’ll have to travel for it.
Campus Life
-
Pretty amazing campus life
-
3 libraries with all imaginable gear/devices/ books ,Multiple research facilities
-
Annual events mostly in Fall semester.
-
State of art gym facility ,1 Lake trail ,Golf course ,Ice cream shop everything basic available.
-
There’s honestly a lot to explore but at the same time it makes the campus huge to do so.
Fees
- Mine was $17,000 / sem.

Likes
- Great systems courses
- Good learning opportunity for research
- The RTP triangle area is very good at providing job opportunities for tech people
Dislikes
- High tuition cost
- No co-op for Ms.c students
- The RTP area prefers people with atleast 2 years work experience if possible
Campus Life
- We have 4 campuses for my college. The main ones are the main campus and centennial for engineering students.
- Both of these have library, main campus has sports, medical, music services. The gym is one of the biggest I have ever seen across USA.
- The college provides good awareness of wellness and recreation. The main campus festivals are packapalooza, which is a shopping fest, moonlight howl and run, which is a midnight running fest, and a lot more are there.
Fees
- It is credit based and 10+ credit means same fees for all. For all masters student the fee structure is 20k USD per semester excluding housing. There are no other charges. Insurance isn't mandatory.
- The fee was semester wise, and in last semester it was 7k USD. Monthly expenses around 700 USD if private else 500 if shared inclusive of food, water electricity, rent. Free transportation.

Likes
- The campus is huge, covering about 2,000 acres, and has all the necessary facilities.
- Transportation is very convenient with free Wolfline buses on campus and free Raleigh city bus rides for NC State students, making travel costs zero.
- There are plenty of dining options, stores, and facilities on campus, which makes it easy for students to find campus jobs without much trouble.
Dislikes
- Academics feel tough, very competitive. For computer majors like CS, projects and assignments feel too much sometimes, get stressful. Not much free time.
- Library gives cool stuff to borrow like cameras or iPads, but laptops or MacBooks only for 24 hours. Other colleges let you borrow longer, like for weeks.
- Crime is low, but every month or so, there's an alert from University Police, like car theft or shootings. Makes it feel unsafe sometimes.
Campus Life
- NC State University is spread across a massive 2,000-acre area. Undergraduate classes are mostly on the main campus, while master’s students attend classes on the Centennial Campus. Campus is 4 miles from downtown Raleigh. The university has large libraries, great sports facilities with gyms, fields, and courts, and a student health centre offering medical care, counselling, and free primary care.
- Big events happen a lot. Packapalooza is fun, with food, music, and free goodies like T-shirts. Football games are crazy exciting; everyone loves them. Moonlight Run is a night run event with a really cool vibe. Hillsborough Street is where most fun stuff happens, like fireworks and music nights.
- Clubs and groups are everywhere. Sports, tech, or cultural activities—you'll find something. Events bring people together, and it’s easy to join in and make friends. Life here isn’t just about studying; it’s got something for everyone.

Overview
I chose this university as being a well reputed and a state college, the fees was nominal. It is located in the RTP area, which is a growing hub for tech industries in the East coast. Weather is one other factor. Placements are pretty good. Coursework is of industry interest and professors are well known.
Campus Life
The campus and infrastructure are very big and amazing! There are lot of extracurricular activities and networking events in order to make social as well as work network.
Overview
Yes, SOP, 3 LOR and CV needs to be submitted. Need to include work experience, research interests, projects done and why do you need admission in this college "Its one of the top three textile colleges globally. Renowned for its state-of-the-art laboratories and cutting-edge facilities, it embodies a commitment to pioneering research and the exploration of innovative technologies within the textile industry.d My experience at college has been exceptional. With top-notch facilities, supportive professors, and a vibrant campus life, it's been an enriching journey. The curriculum is up-to-date, offering practical insights and industrial exposure. Accommodation options are comfortable and affordable, while post-study placement opportunities are promising. Overall, it's been a fulfilling and rewarding experience preparing me for a successful career in the textile industry.
Campus Life
Life on campus is fun! We have lots of things to do like going on trips to see how things work in real life and showing off our research. Our libraries are cool and have computers you can use. We have free WiFi everywhere. We also have clubs for different interests and we do lots of events. If you like sports, we have football mainly
Overview
Need to submit SoP, 3 LORs, CV and no interview, Income documents, Transcripts. NCSU ranks no. 1 globally for Textiles and it has very good research facilities. I definitely recommend this college my overall experience is good, if you're non CS students you can definitely try for Assistantship, and there are multiple scholarship opportunities and on-campus part-time opportunities are good but on average remuneration for on-campus part-time is $10
Campus Life
Life at NCSU is incredible, it has highspeed WiFi connectivity throughout the campus, it has 4 libraries on campus, lot of clubs and events recently a big event about giving back has conducted which is really awesome.
Likes
- The degree in which I wanted to go ahead was very good in this university, because of its vast experience in that field, I chose that. Also the house rents and such in this university is quite low.
- The way the practical lab, homework are oriented, totally showcase the in-depth knowledge field, professors are really good with their work, environment is quite better than other universities i have visited.
Dislikes
- things which almost every university has in common, few professors which somewhat lack in their skills, though having good in-depth knowledge in their respective fields. Students might complain about the heavy coursework the CE department has to offer, but it's all needed.
Overview
It's is really good, I would recommend it to everyone. this college has given the most challenging and grinding semesters but a really worth it experience.
Campus Life
Everything is really good, mention any thing and you will find it here, that kind of celebration and such. Very much friendly celebration and really an awesome happy life college apart from the submission days which are of course gloomy.
