- Students are kept engaged through various activities and events in the campus. The faculties and the career guidance department do their best to help students get placed through events with a lot of tech companies
Dislikes
- The bus routes and connectivity could be improved to help end to end travel to student housing around the campus
Likes
- Amazing campus- especially the 5-storeyed gymnasium
- 24*7 access to libraries- amazing libraries
- Hundreds of events going on campus every single day throughout each semester
Dislikes
- CS students are not allowed full-time co-ops
- Cost of education (tuition fee) is extremely high
- Extreme and random weather in Raleigh
Scholarship
- No – neither me nor my batchmates. CS or CE students do not receive any scholarships. MEM students have some scholarships, and Design students have TA opportunities and lower tuition fees.

Likes
- The curriculum is very industry oriented which help in getting jobs
- The intake has very quality students which helps a lot in professional development
- Infrastructure is top-notch with a very big library
Dislikes
- I don't like that subjects can be selected according to random slotting which gets many students at disadvantage for some of the popular courses
Likes
- The NCSU Hunt Library is AMAZING! Top notch architecture and everything students need for studying. They also give ipads and other devices to work if we need them free of charge.
- The availability of on-campus jobs is very high. Most students are able to secure one to support their finances.
- The special topics offered in the MCS course are very good. these usually have a small number of students so focused attention is given. since the prof. knows all the students in these special topic classes, we can build a good relationship with them and get offered TA positions through that.
Dislikes
- The bus network is good but sometimes buses are late or overpacked. Also a lot of time is wasted in waiting for the buses and usally commute to classes and part time job takes around an hour daily.
- The career fairs held by NCSU are seldom helpful. they are packed with thousands of students and very few companies. very few of my friends have secured an internship or job offer through these fairs. many companies that come there only hire US citizens and some come there even if they are not hiring currently. usually only a few companies get all the attention so there are thousands of students in the queue for them and there is no personal connection built with the recruiters. wait times in line are almost 2 hrs for each company.
- It is in raleigh and raleigh being a small town, there are pretty limited fun activities to do outside of the ncsu campus
Scholarship
- One of my friends got a GSSP (graduate student support plan); his tuition fee for the whole semester was waived.

Likes
- Located in a college town more or less. Resources to buy groceries are nearby but if you want something specific you’ll have to travel for it.
Likes
- Great systems courses
- Good learning opportunity for research
- The RTP triangle area is very good at providing job opportunities for tech people
Dislikes
- High tuition cost
- No co-op for Ms.c students
- The RTP area prefers people with atleast 2 years work experience if possible
Scholarship
- No, there are no scholarships except for PhD students. I personally don't know anyone with a scholarship.
- It might be worth checking with the OIS team of NCSU or even admissions team so that we can get a better picture of how the scholarship programme works.
- That said, the PhD students get their entire fee waived off. This is also for graduate TAs.

Likes
- The campus is huge, covering about 2,000 acres, and has all the necessary facilities.
- Transportation is very convenient with free Wolfline buses on campus and free Raleigh city bus rides for NC State students, making travel costs zero.
- There are plenty of dining options, stores, and facilities on campus, which makes it easy for students to find campus jobs without much trouble.
Dislikes
- Academics feel tough, very competitive. For computer majors like CS, projects and assignments feel too much sometimes, get stressful. Not much free time.
- Library gives cool stuff to borrow like cameras or iPads, but laptops or MacBooks only for 24 hours. Other colleges let you borrow longer, like for weeks.
- Crime is low, but every month or so, there's an alert from University Police, like car theft or shootings. Makes it feel unsafe sometimes.
Scholarship
- I didn’t receive any scholarships during my course.
- However, one of my friends received a GSSP (Graduate Student Support Plan). Under this, a professor funds your education for that semester, and in return, the student works as a research assistant for them.
- The university doesn’t offer scholarships specifically for international students. Most financial aid opportunities for international students come through assistantships or external funding.

Dislikes
- Courses in demand got filled up pretty quickly with a huge class size.
- TA ship opportunities are rarely available in the 1st sem
