- Good peaceful environmental with more greenery.
- Nice faculty from various top universities.
- Well equipped with all machines and equipment’s related to course.

- Located in suburban so some times it might feel difficult to get things done.
- More options for facilities than students like parkings, offers, etc
- Parkings for students is bit more expensive than normal parking.
- My college has its own platform for accommodation. In that they will mention all the communities and estates which are around the college. And these are verified and safe places.
- Monthly it will be $2100-2500. Depends on the room you choose.
- Yes sugarloaf estates is the best place for students who like to have a peaceful environment.
- It’s around 15 minutes from college. Indian students also stay here. Mostly 60% are Indians.

- One of the best schools in the United States for computer science. AI and Data Science department of UMASS ranks within the top 20 in United States.
- Professors are extremely renowned and are giants of their field.
- MS in CS course of UMass has an established track record of close to 100 percent placement in domains of Software Engineering, Research Scientist and Machine learning roles.
Dislikes
- Honestly there isn't much to dislike about UMass. For my entire two years of Masters I felt blessed to be a part of this prestigious institute. However I will still try to give some pointers which might not be the strong suite
- UMass, Amherst is located in small town of Amherst, Massachusetts. The town is fairly small and might not feel happening to some students. In winter the town gets extremely cold with snow falls and harsh weather conditions which might make it difficult for new comers to settle in
- On campus accommodation prices are quite high and availability is quite low.
-
I found my accommodation using the Internal UMass whatsapp group
-
Monthly rent for a 2 Bed 1 bath apartment is 2000 USD excluding utility charges. You can share the apartment with 3 person which will bring the per month rent to 700 usd
-
It depends on the type of accommodation that you are looking for some of the accommodations are near whereas some might be really far.

- It was the best university for Computer Science out of the ones I got accepted into and it was a very appealing campus. Additionally, its proximity to Boston, the education hub was also a deciding factor.
- I love the campus and the teachers. Being recognised for its food has also been a plus point of my time here. I think I like almost everything about this college!
Dislikes
- I think everything I have come across till now, I have really liked in my University. However, if I had to think about it, I love walking but for people who might not, the campus is quite huge. Not everyone likes walking, rather running to classes so if you are not one to "go on a walk" when you have to attend a class, make sure your schedule does not make you run around different areas of campus like mine did in the first semester of freshman year!
I think I have, up until now had a very good experience in my university. As an international student too, I never had any sort of issues in the university. I think my overall experience has been very positive, and I would definitely recommend this university to other students who are looking for an affordable yet good college to go to!

- I needed a global PMP certificate to stay updated in the industry, not specific to only India market.
- Curriculum, separate individual certifications within this major certification, syllabus vastness, faculty interactions, combination of live and recorded sessions, conducting live proctored tests, interactive & impromptu project creation & submissions.
Dislikes
- The limitations of Placement program could have been elaborated well in advance. It would be beneficial for university to provide more detailed information about placement rates, alumni success stories, and resources for job searching to help students feel more confident about their post-certifications plans. It can be little bit frustrating not knowing what opportunities are available after getting the certificate or how to access them. Without proper guidance or transparency from the career services department, students may feel uncertain about their future prospects. If college doesn't have strong connections with companies or provide resources for networking and job hunting, students may struggle to find employment in their field of study.
As this was my very first global university academic experience, I enjoyed most of it. The curriculum, separate individual certifications within this major certification, syllabus vastness, faculty interactions, a combination of live and recorded sessions, conducting live proctored tests, interactive & impromptu project creation & submissions, overall, it was a roller coaster ride.

- One of the key aspects for me was the scholarship along with the great brand name of the institution. The compsci & compeng. programs were also one of the best in the country with regards to public universities.
- The courses available in the engineering department are really diverse and they allow students to branch out to different fields in technology. The faculty is also very knowledgeable and lab facilities are of high caliber
Dislikes
- The location is really isolated and is inaccessible especially for international students. It takes a minimum of 2 hours to reach campus from the nearest airport which is in Boston. Being a vegetarian, the food options in the canteen are also limited.
My overall college experience could be defined as challenging, only because I feel very estranged from home and find it difficult to live in a rural environment. Notwithstanding that, it is a great place to learn and build your future.

- One of the top universities for data science. They offer data science specialization along with master's.
UMass Amherst is a good university with a lot of resources and facilities that can aid students to help their studies. Faculties are pretty good except for some who don't know how to teach. There are plenty of research opportunities. Careers team is really good. But the location of campus limits the number of career fairs we can attend. There is housing crunch in Amherst.

- It has a really good data analytics program. And the professors are very knowledgeable here as well.
- Good peer group, amazing professors, it is located in an amazing place and there good ambience as well. I have an amazing friend group and we are all encouraging and supporting each other at all times.
Dislikes
- I don’t have anything to dislike as of much but one thing I can say is that it is pretty secluded as the university is located in a remote town called Amherst, it would have been nice if the university was in a city or if I had joined a university in a city
It was a much needed experience especially after staying in India which like my comfort zone, I finally realised the value of hard work and struggle.
This university is one of the good universities for Masters in Data Science. It is also close to where my spouse works.
i am a biology major and my university is closer to Boston which has immense opportunities for me.
